“Adeline did a great job. Exactly what we asked for. She checked in with us during her stay. Respoinsive when we contacted her. Foxy and Gray Guy were fine when we got home.”

“Kiana did a wonderful job with our sweet dog! She was super responsible - with an initial meet and greet, check in beforehand and updates throughout her stay. Birdie took to her immediately, and we came home to a clean home and a happy dog!”

“Tayler did a great job of watching our pets for the week. She was patient with our chihuahua mix that has a hard time trusting new people. She sent photos and checked in every day. Our pets were happy when we got home and our house was just as we left it. Would definitely recommend Tayler for pet sitting!”

“Matt did a terrific job caring for my senior Great Dane, Fred. I was very relieved to be able to go on my trip and not be concerned or feeling stressed about my pet and the care he was receiving. The entire week went smoothly and Matt kept me informed how things were going at home. I definitely will use Matt’s services again when my plans call for someone to stay and care for Fred when travel becomes necessary for me. Thank you Matt for excellent service”

“Lauren did a fantastic job with all of our animals (a dog, cat, and three chickens). They were all happy when we got home. She kept us informed and sent daily pictures of their adventures. 😀”

“Kaylee was great! My pups have some special needs and are not the.best rained. Kaylee did a fantastic job making them feel safe and happy. I will definitely look to book Kaylee again!”

“This was our first time leaving Bertie with a sitter - and using River - and we could not be happier! Donna is the BESTEST! We look forward to seeing Donna again 🥰”

“Mia was a great sitter for our two dogs. She responded quickly every time we reached out. One of our dogs hurt himself the day before we went on our trip, and Mia was able to accommodate the requests we made in order to help with the recovery. She kept us posted on how the dogs were doing and sent us photos. Mia’s open communication and understanding of our pets’ needs reassured us that our dogs were in good hands. We came home to happy, relaxed dogs. We highly recommend her as a sitter!”

“merry was great with my dog! they were very thorough and made sure they had al the necessary info to take care of him, and i was very confident that we would be well taken care of while i was gone! highly recommend (:”

“Melinda watched my dogs for a 10 day trip after another sitter cancelled. Dogs were happy and calm when I returned home and house was well kept. Thanks so much Melinda!!”

“Amie is a wonderful and caring young lady. She quickly caught on to our dog: Molly's needs. Molly had hypdsplasia and is 14. It's hard for her at times to get up and move. She also needed meds to help ease her pain. We love our dog and she s pretty spoiled, we felt amiee treated her like she was her own. We truly appreciated Amie, and she has become like family in just the short time we have known her. I would recommend her to anyone. She works from her home which makes it nice to. I have did the kennels and drop in visits, I'm not crazy about them. We were gone for 19 days and amiee even graciously dealt with our neighbor who decided to take down are fence and redo it with no notice. Amiee is great and has alot of great references. Book with her folks ?”

“Alicia was an awesome house sitter! I'd recommend her for anyone. We were gone for a week and Alicia gave us every update we needed and went above and beyond our expectations. We had total piece of mind with Alicia watching our pup for the week. 5-stars, no doubt!”

“Jamie was everything you hope for in a pet sitter. The dogs were relaxed and in great spirits when we got home and the house was spotless. Jamie sent pictures and communicated regularly letting us know how everything was going. We have to French bulldogs that both have daily meds and he kept everything organized and on schedule.”
“Selena was wonderful, she really bonded with our beloved Sterling the Snowshoe. It was great to be able to relax on our road trip knowing Selena was there caring for him and our house. She left the house in beautiful shape and we could tell kitty really loved being with her.”

“Kieran did a great job taking care of my aging dog. Everything was left neat and tidy around the house and my pooch seemed calm and centered upon our return. I would ask her to house sit again for sure!”

About: I bring over 5 years of hands-on pet care experience across long-term house sitting, international shelter work, and specialized medical care. My background includes a 6-month, full-time house sit caring for three dogs and two cats, where I managed strict health regimens—including administering medications every 2 hours at precise times for a dog with a neurological seizure disorder, treating skin conditions and wounds, and managing flea care. I am trained in emergency response and comfortable handling complex medical schedules. Additionally, I volunteered for a year at a shelter in India caring for 60+ dogs, providing physical therapy to paralyzed dogs, assistance with vaccinations, behavioral training, and custom dietary meal prep. Locally, I volunteered at Multnomah County Animal Services, completing intensive training in medication administration and enrichment. I'm certified in Pet First Aid through American Red Cross. Through TrustedHousesitters and caring for friends' pets, I regularly handle multi-week stays for both dogs and cats, ensuring consistent routines, high-level medical attentiveness, and dedicated care. As a freelancer with a fully flexible schedule, I have plenty of time to give your pets the dedicated attention they deserve. I am available for long-term house sitting, weekend stays, and drop-in visits or walks any day between 7:00 AM and 8:00 PM. I prioritize safe, precise, and low-stress care above all else. Because I specialize in caring for anxious cats and special needs pets, I maintain a calm, quiet, and secure environment tailored to your pet's specific routine and comfort level.
“Our first time with Celeste and we were very happy with her care of our fur kids. She took care of our two old pups - one who loves everyone and one who is less than thrilled with humans in general. The grumpy guy even liked her. And our three-legged cat was happy too. We got photos and videos daily, and everyone seemed happy and content. We will definitely have Celeste over again.”

Jackson is the best! I’ve got a senior pup and a lot of anxiety around her health and Jackson was super helpful- reassured me, asked great questions, sent updates, pictures, etc. He also checked in about how much communication I wanted, which was helpful. He’s gentle, kind, and super easy to work with. I felt totally safe leaving my little girl in his care. Thank you, Jackson! Looking forward to working with you again!
Addy took exceptional care of our dogs and home while we were away for a long weekend. She brings genuine warmth and confidence to her work, and we had complete peace of mind throughout our trip. Her check-ins were always on time, and it was such a treat to receive photos of our happy pups. We came home to well-cared-for dogs and a tidy home. We couldn’t recommend Addy more highly!

Erin really helped us out this weekend! They were able to come meet our big and elderly dog, Tallulah, then take care of her for an overnight. Tallulah needs medications, special food, and extra time moving around and Erin took care of everything, leaving us a carefree night out of town. Will definitely book with Erin again!

So happy to have found Vanessa! She took such good care of our cat Rupi while we were gone for the week. He warmed up to her super quickly, which doesn’t always happen, and was even cuddling her and sleeping next to her at night from day one. She was super communicative and thoughtful in her care for him and our house. We will absolutely be booking her again!

Angela was great with our 3 small dogs aged 9 mos to 15 years. Our overnight get-away was much more relaxing knowing they were in her experienced care. She also helped us out with our chickens which we really appreciated. Angela sent us updates and photos throughout her stay, letting us know how the dogs were doing. She was particularly attentive to the needs of our senior dog which was very kind and thoughtful. We would love to book Angela again.

Wonderful as always! this was a repeat petsitting gig because my cat was very well cared for the first time around :) Shelly is trustworthy, reliable, communicative, and always goes above and beyond. I'd absolutely recommend her, and will keep hiring her for my senior kitty's care!!

Kiana was kind enough to help with a last minute booking after my other Rover canceled the night before my trip - I was so grateful. She was detail oriented, communicated well, took good care of my 2 dogs, and left the house clean! I would book again. Thank you Kiana! 🐶❤️

Jax watched our two little dogs for a week and did an excellent job. We could tell our dogs were comfortable with Jax from the meet and greet and they seemed happy and relaxed when we got home. Jax sent daily photos and was responsible for their medications and supplements. Jax kept our house tidy and clean and even washed our sheets before he left, which wasn't requested but was appreciated. We wouldn't hesitate to book with Jax again!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Harmony walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Harmony maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Harmony choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Harmony. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
