“Summer did an excellent job in making sure Chunk was happy and well cared for. Chunk can be shy with new people and she took it slow and made sure he knew she was there when he was ready! We would definitely book with her again.”

About: I love all animals. I have a very active puppy that loves walks and I know that everyone’s lives get busy. I try and be available as needed but I also work full time. My pet care experience has mostly been with my own animals. Everyone is busy and tend to work long days. It sucks when you feel guilty for not spending time with your dog. Luckily with services like this you are free from guilt and know that your dog is being taken care of. I love having the option of someone walking my dog (especially after a very long day). If you are comfortable with it my dog also loves new friends and long walks. I try and walk my dog everyday. I work full time but have a flexible schedule to care for animals. I have two dogs but I split them with my ex and on those weeks, I’m extra available. I have a large condo that has access to lots of walking paths and nature. The animal would feel safe and comfortable at my home. I’m also able to go to your home and provide care (that can be easier for pets). I currently watch a lot of my friends dogs when they are out and have shown that I care for their space and animals.
About: I’ve cared for animals my whole life, and have had the privilege of working with both large and small dog breeds, cats of many shapes and sizes, and even horses and birds. Earning an animal’s trust and learning about what makes them unique is a beautiful feeling, and the knowledge that I’m helping someone out at the same time makes it even better. I have experience with senior dogs, high-energy breeds, lap cats, anxious pets— no matter what their story is, I believe all of them deserve love and quality care equally. I’m also a very active person and will make sure dogs get regular walks. I am a full-time student in a medical program so most of my “work days” are shorter days. My main focus on weekends is schoolwork, which means I have plenty of reason to stay in and hang out with the pets. I think this works great for house-sitting since I am staying in to study for the most part, aka lots of quality time spent with your loved ones! ** Important note: my class days (Mon-Weds) require me to spend ~5 hours on campus and 8 hours on clinical days (Thurs/Fri) during the term. Because of this, I will have to leave for hours at a time during the week. On those days it’s important to consider if your pets are okay being alone for that long or if additional help can be recruited to check up on them if this is an issue. I’m happy to provide a copy of my schedule so we are on the same page for the times that I will be away at school. I am very conscientious about what I’m doing in someone else’s home and make a point to leave it how I found it, if not better. When it comes to house sitting, I am able to spend much of the day at the house and stay overnight with them, which provides a sense of security and companionship for your babies. I believe pets are most comfortable in their home environment so my goal is to keep their stress as low as possible, caring for them the same way they are used to- ie. timed feeding schedules, potty breaks, walks; anything I can do to keep everyone happy and healthy. I know how hard being away from your fur babies can be, so I make sure to take lots of photos to send!

About: I offer dog walks, drop-in visits and house sitting services. I have 4+ years of experience walking and caring for dogs, as well as 5+ years of experience caring for indoor cats. I’m also an experienced dog trainer who specializes in training herding breeds. I’m working part-time, so I’ll have plenty of time to care for your pet! I’m currently available any day of the week, afternoons or evenings. I will care for your pet exactly as instructed, including walks/food/water/grooming etc. and I won’t hesitate to reach out with any questions! I will care for your pet as if it’s my own :)
“Kaylee was amazing! She spent time with our kitties, played with them, fed them, and even gave them treats that her cat didn’t love. She was a clear communicator and reliable! We’d have her watch our cats any time!”

“Allison was absolutely FANTASTIC with Ollie. I love the communication and actually working with Ollie on his walks and manners. Would 10/10 recommend and will be booking with her again!”

“Damita really helped us out because right after we left on vacation our power went out. Then our flight home was delayed and Damita quickly agreed to add another visit to our booking to care for our dog. She continuously updated us and asked how she could be of more help. We’re really impressed with her kindness and how she went to extra mile for us. Thanks Damita!”

“Erin is excellent at taking care of cats. Every time she comes to my house, my cat eagerly waits for her, hoping to be petted, and even sits on her lap. She left me detailed and heartfelt message about how my cats were doing that day . I completely trust her to look after my cats.”

“This was my first time using Rover and a dog sitter, so I was a little nervous at first — but Kathy immediately put me at ease! She was warm, professional, and clearly experienced with dogs. My pups were relaxed and enjoyed their time with her. I appreciated the updates and photos she sent, which really helped me relax while I was away. I couldn’t have asked for a better first experience — thank you, Kathy!”

“Adeline was amazing with our 7 month old Havanese! We can’t wait to use her services again. She has such a calm demeanor and is so kind. You can tell that she really loves caring for your fur babies. Do not pass up the services that Adeline provides, we are thrilled that we found her!”

“We were so nervous about leaving our brand new puppy home for the first time while we went back to work. Megan came twice to feed and play with our two pups and was amazing and very communicative. Definitely recommend!”

“Shianne did a great job, making sure she was paying attention to all the many details I requested. She is a good communicator and she loved my kitty and took very good care of her!”

“Consistent communication, mishap on my part and she worked around it to make sure my boy was taken care of. Always cheerful and happy to come out check up on chief. 10/10 will request again.”

“Thank you so much Katie for caring for my fur babies in short notice and during a holiday season!! Thank you again for being there for them! I look forward to having your assistance again in the future!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Oak Grove
Sydney was absolutely wonderful! As a new cat mom and a first-time Rover user, I was a little nervous about leaving my two ragdoll one year old boys, but Sydney immediately put me at ease. I really appreciated that she came over for a meet-and-greet beforehand, and it was clear right away how genuinely she loves and understands animals. While I was away, her updates made me feel completely comfortable knowing the cats were in great hands. She was incredibly attentive, spent time playing with them, and clearly cared about making sure they were happy and comfortable. I loved getting her updates and seeing how well they were doing. I couldn’t have asked for a better first Rover experience. I highly recommend Sydney and will absolutely be booking with her again!

Avalon was the best cat sitter for my boy cat. I needed someone last minute and she was able to take on his care and was a great communicator throughout the process. My cat needed 3 different oral medications which she was able to administer without any problems. And if you know cats and meds it’s very challenging to get meds in them! She definitely knows cat language and behavior and I would highly recommend her for any cat care. I felt very at ease leaving my boy under her care. Not to mention my cat absolutely loved and adored her. Avalon you are a cat whisperer thank you so much!!

Kristen was amazing with our cat Marvin! I would highly recommend her. Marvin is a nervous kitty and doesn’t warm up to people easily, but Kristen put him immediately at ease. Her calm demeanor and attention to his body language (not petting at first, letting Marv come to her) made him feel safe and by the end of her sitting with him, he was downright cuddly. If you are looking for an attentive, patient and well attuned animal lover to care for your pet Kristen is it!

I don’t understand the psychology of pet owners and pet providers… perhaps it’s the common bond of loving animals, but i handed Summer our house keys within 30 minutes of our meet and greet appointment. I generally don’t do that easily. Summer was responsive to our requests for our cat’s care and meal plan and arranged to fit into our schedule without question. She sent us great photos and answered our questions promptly.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Oak Grove. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
