“Grace did some check-in visits with our two cats and pitbull. She was very thoughtful and communicative the whole time. She went above and beyond what we asked for. Thanks Grace!”

About: I love all animals. I have a very active puppy that loves walks and I know that everyone’s lives get busy. I try and be available as needed but I also work full time. My pet care experience has mostly been with my own animals. Everyone is busy and tend to work long days. It sucks when you feel guilty for not spending time with your dog. Luckily with services like this you are free from guilt and know that your dog is being taken care of. I love having the option of someone walking my dog (especially after a very long day). If you are comfortable with it my dog also loves new friends and long walks. I try and walk my dog everyday. I work full time but have a flexible schedule to care for animals. I have two dogs but I split them with my ex and on those weeks, I’m extra available. I have a large condo that has access to lots of walking paths and nature. The animal would feel safe and comfortable at my home. I’m also able to go to your home and provide care (that can be easier for pets). I currently watch a lot of my friends dogs when they are out and have shown that I care for their space and animals.
“Maddy was absolutely wonderful. Was extremely attentive to the quarks and needs of our two senior cats. Gave them their daily medication and reassuring updates. We would use her services again in a heartbeat.”

“ChristyLynn was able to accommodate a last minute drop in request. She was great with the dogs, they sense right away if someone is a dog person and she definitely is. She asked if it was ok for her girls to come for an evening visit and the dogs loved that. Great communication and appreciated the pics. Will definitely use her again.”

“Camille and Shayla were amazing with my cat, and are very lovely people. My cat is very shy towards new people, and they respected his boundaries. He came out of his shell after a few days of them stopping by. I appreciated their detailed reports.”

“I’ve used Karly now three times as my cat-sitter while away to take care of my two cats, and just recently, for two weeks while out of the country. She’s great!! She makes sure my two babies are well taken care of - she’s gotten to know both of their personalities and tends to both of their needs (one’s playfulness and the other’s snuggles/pets)! She goes above and beyond and also considers me and the house while gone out of the country (by taking out the trash on trash day for example). She’s also a great communicator and I feel at ease trusting her to take care of both my cats and my home while away!”

“Kaylee was amazing! She spent time with our kitties, played with them, fed them, and even gave them treats that her cat didn’t love. She was a clear communicator and reliable! We’d have her watch our cats any time!”

“Charlie is the absolute best cat sitter ever! I have used his 4-5 times for a few days to 2 weeks. My cat adores him! He provides great updates and pictures. I know my kitty’s needs are well taken care of when I am gone.”

About: I have a great love for animals, but especially, dogs. I've been dogsitting/dogwalking for around fifteen years, starting with sitting for my friends pets. I'm a very loving caregiver, so when their dogs would see me again, they'd spin around in circles, full of joy, and follow me around wherever I went. They started recommending me to their friends, who'd recommend me to their friends and so on, until I was sitting for all kinds of dogs. I decided I wanted to learn everything about dog care and to take it seriously as a profession. I took off to Peru and volunteered at a dog shelter. There I cared for 50 lonely street dogs. That's also where I learned about how to be an intuitive dog leader in groups of up to fifteen dogs. The feeling of fifteen strays running up to you every morning for some pets and affection is one I'll never forget. Now I spend my days sitting for dogs like yours. I also work in a doggie daycare. I spend a lot of my time off volunteering at the Humane Society. At this point, I'm confident and knowledgeable in dog behavior, alone and in groups. I can tell when a dog is anxious, or lonely, etc. I can read a dogs emotions, when it signals through its mouth ears, tail or body tenseness. I've learned a lot and I'm dedicated to learning more. I want to meet all the dogs! I'd love to meet yours! I'm sure we'd get along! I have a part time job in a doggie daycare, just because I love dog care and want to learn everything about it. Otherwise, I'm doing a lot of dogsitting. I like to dedicate a lot of my day to my furry clients, walking them and giving them bellyrubs. Housesitting: When I'm housesitting, I spend as much time as possible in your home with your dog. I love to take them to parks and to explore your neighborhood. Boarding: I have a big house to for them to run around in with fluffy, comfy couches and a cupboard full of treats. I also have a grassy back yard where we can chase balls and play tug-a-war. Lents Park is around the corner from me so take walks there several times a day.
“You could feel their kindness upon meeting them, & our very selective bengal honored them with a head boop right away! Megan allowed us to have peace of mind after a very stressful morning, & honestly we couldn’t have asked for more! Thank you so much!”

About: I work for a doggie daycare and dog walking company and I walk up to 10 dogs at a time by myself in all kinds of weather. In hot weather, I bring them to shaded parks. I use healthy treats for training and every dog improves, some dramatically. My business partner and I have given sick or injured dogs wagon rides on paved bike trails to get them fresh air and socialization with their friends. At the time of this writing, between the daycare and Rover, I have worked with 80 dogs. I am currently working full time on weekdays, but I’m available on weekends for dog walking, house sitting and drop-in visits. Dog walking is included with house sitting. I am available to pet sit in client’s homes and walk dogs. I am an avid hiker, so I would take them for walks and runs if appropriate. I double check to ensure harnesses are adjusted properly and comfortable. I use a dog walking belt to attach leashes to, keeping my hands free to pick up after them. If another dog passes, I distract my dogs by offering treats for sitting, staying and directing attention at me. I love taking them to play in parks or the yard, and give lots of love, head scratches and belly rubs! I take time to train so they will trust me and come to me when called. I use a happy, excited voice to encourage them to walk, and a calm, gentle voice when giving them a treat so they learn to take it gently from my hand. I even learned commands in Spanish to help a dog who understands that language best. In addition, I have earned online certificates in Dog Emotion and Cognition from Duke University and Animal Behavior and Welfare from the University of Edinburgh.
“Highly recommend Kristy! Booked for drop-in with less than a weeks notice & Kristy replied promptly and cheerfully. Professional, very kind, trustworthy and my pup absolutely adored her. He looked so happy in all her sweet photos. Was our first time with Kristy and we’re looking forward soon to our next booking!”

“Jordan is amazing! Very thoughtful dog sitter and you can tell he enjoys it. He watched our puppy Blue for a few hours while we were at work and sent us updates on how he was doing. Definitely recommend him! Already booked him again!”

“Melissa was absolutely amazing! She went above and beyond while caring for our cats and made us feel so comfortable knowing they were in such great hands. She was attentive, reliable, communicative, and clearly went the extra mile to make sure everything was taken care of. We couldn’t have asked for a better cat sitter and would absolutely recommend her to anyone!”

“Beyond kind to both me and my kitty! Always on time, very attentive, and sent great updates and photos! Took the time to interact and play with my cat and always responded quick! Highly recommend!”

“Claire was fantastic! She spent plenty of quality time with my cats, played with them during every visit, and made sure everything was left clean and in great condition. She was also very communicative and always sent lots of photos and updates, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. I could tell my cats were well cared for and happy. I would absolutely book her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring cat sitter!”

“Kay was amazing with our cat Shimmy, sending lots of great updates and photos. Kay clearly spent a lot of time playing with Shimmy - we would recommend Kay to anyone - thanks so much again!”

“Tiana is the best. I’ve used her for drop in visits with my small dog when I travel for work. My dog can be a bit shy but she is so patient with him and he seems to love her. I can’t thank her enough for being so trustworthy, kind, and patient. She is the best.”

Gera did a great job looking after my very shy elderly cat, who needs to take regular medication. Gera was super communicative and responsive, gave detailed updates, and went above and beyond to make sure Lyra was comfortable and felt safe. We would definitely book again!

I cannot recommend Angela enough. Our cat was recently diagnosed with diabetes and requires blood sugar checks and insulin injections. Angela handled this perfectly and provided thorough updates on his status. She came over to learn how to care for him and took detailed notes. Angela is very professional and clearly has a deep love for animals. She is a pleasure to work with. Look no further— you’ve found your pet care angel!

Elinor took great care of our high needs geriatric cat. With progressive kidney failure and a long list of medicines, our cat has a specific medical schedule and Elinor stepped into our routine seamlessly. She's a professional vet tech and was able to do the subcutaneous water daily. We appreciated her support with our sweet, but high maintenance cat.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Battin. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
