I have a senior cat with hyperthyroidism, and I had been struggling to make arrangements for her while I was out of town for a week, so my request to Madeline was fairly last-minute. She was quick to respond and arrange a meet-and-greet. My cat requires twice-daily applications of medicine, which is a tall order, but Madeline never missed a drop-in. My cat is not comfortable around strangers, so I was impressed to get a Rover Card showing her allowing Madeline to pet her about halfway through my trip! About: I work for a doggie daycare and dog walking company and I walk up to 10 dogs at a time by myself in all kinds of weather. In hot weather, I bring them to shaded parks. I use healthy treats for training and every dog improves, some dramatically. My business partner and I have given sick or injured dogs wagon rides on paved bike trails to get them fresh air and socialization with their friends. At the time of this writing, between the daycare and Rover, I have worked with 80 dogs. I am currently working full time on weekdays, but I’m available on weekends for dog walking, house sitting and drop-in visits. Dog walking is included with house sitting. I am available to pet sit in client’s homes and walk dogs. I am an avid hiker, so I would take them for walks and runs if appropriate. I double check to ensure harnesses are adjusted properly and comfortable. I use a dog walking belt to attach leashes to, keeping my hands free to pick up after them. If another dog passes, I distract my dogs by offering treats for sitting, staying and directing attention at me. I love taking them to play in parks or the yard, and give lots of love, head scratches and belly rubs! I take time to train so they will trust me and come to me when called. I use a happy, excited voice to encourage them to walk, and a calm, gentle voice when giving them a treat so they learn to take it gently from my hand. I even learned commands in Spanish to help a dog who understands that language best. In addition, I have earned online certificates in Dog Emotion and Cognition from Duke University and Animal Behavior and Welfare from the University of Edinburgh.

About: I've had dogs and cats for 9 years as well as taken care of friends pets for about 5 years as well. I enjoy going on runs and being active, so if your pup need some extra energy expended I'd be happy to run with them! My schedule is very open at the moment, so I can drop by or walk anytime most days. As early as 9am and until 9pm. About: I grew up in rural midwest with dogs, cats, and guinea pigs since I was 9. I was a dedicated and loving dog mama to my beloved bernese mountain dog, Riker, for 9.5 years and I miss him very much. I enjoyed taking my boy to thousand acres, Mt. Tabor, and several other dog parks and we've gone on many hikes on the coast, in the gorge, and in Mt. Hood forest. I have special connections with my friends' animals and I've enjoyed taking their dogs for walks since my boy passed last March. I'm a fourth-year doctoral graduate student at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) meaning my schedule can be pretty flexible. I have two full days of clinic per week and fill the rest of the week with writing and research. When I'm not in clinic I can work with my schedule to take your fur baby on walks, check in on them to let them out, or schedule an adventure! I can also come house sit or invite your pet over for the day or extended stay. I have a fenced in backyard with ample space for throwing the ball or lounging in the sun on a picnic blanket. We also live very close to a park for on leash walks or park hangs. Our fur baby passed in March 2026 but our one-level house is still set up to be accessible with rugs on the wood flooring for traction, plenty of blankets and comfy spots to sleep, and easy access to the back yard (just two steps). We allow animals on furniture but respect your rules if that's a boundary of yours!

My style of pet sitting is matching the pet! I understand some animals prefer just lounging around and playing with toys inside, while others love running outside and going on long walks! I have fun doing both. In my lifetime, I’ve owned 4 dogs, 2 cats and 2 hamsters. I’ve done pet sitting for the past three years to make extra income for school. “Tommy was great with Jolene! Before I left her at his place for daycare, we had a meet and greet in the park with his dog Omar and they got along great! Tommy was also very communicative and flexible when my plans changed and I had to move my daycare date around. He was also helpful making sure she got out during the day for a walk and fed her dinner before I picked her up. You can tell he is a real dog lover and dogs love him in return! I'll definitely be using Tommy again and would recommend him if you are looking for someone to take care of your pups.”
