Availability
Im a grad student and part time educator. I don’t work a traditional 9 to 5 and would be happy to care for your pets while you’re away for work or longer trips. Ideally, I’m hoping to build trusting relationships with families looking for consistent care for their animals.

Safety, trust & environment
I believe in force free, positive reinforcement training and relationships. I will bring energy and playfulness every time I see your pet. I will always have treats on me and I am happy to learn what training you are working on in order to reinforce that during our walks/play. I’d love to become a consistent, joyful part of your pets life!
Information Madeline M. would like to know about your pet
I am happy to work with any dogs, regardless of need, although I do require complete honesty up front as well as the ability to reach you vie text/call during my scheduled visit/walk. I need to know what their triggers are, if they pull on walks, if they have strong recall in case of emergency, and what language you use during training. If your dog pulls on walks, there needs to be the appropriate anti-pull harness available. I do not use aversive training/walking tools (namely prong collars or e-collars). If these are the only tools available and you expect me to use them, I am not the walker/sitter for you. If your dog has any reactivity struggles or special needs, I would like to meet with you and your dog first to create a safety plan and get as much information as possible. I'd be happy to spend time with you and your pet first in order to establish trust and hopefully desensitize them to me entering your home without you. I retain the right to refuse walking/sitting for a pet who bites or tries to bite me or if your dog shows signs of aggression upon entering your home (snarling, snapping, hackles up, stiff tail, etc). I will request that you return immediately if I'm bitten and it breaks the skin.
A typical day
Every dog is different so this will vary depending on the pet and the information I'm given from you, as you know your pet best. I really enjoy taking dogs on walks and giving them plenty of time to sniff, but I am also happy to provide them with cognitive play indoors and in your backyard such as fetch, sniff games, and kongs if made available. Most importantly though, I will give your animals love and affection while you're away so they they feel safe, secure, and relaxed.

Grad student to care for your pets!
Pet care experience
I have had dogs and cats my entire life and have loved every furry friend I’ve ever met, big or small. I rescued my reactive 60 lb pup a year ago and we went through positive reinforcement training together for his triggers. I have a basic understanding of canine behavior, safety, and training. I’d love to meet you and your pets! I will love and care for them like they’re my own.💕

Reviews

Madeline has been absolutely wonderful with our two dogs, who couldn’t be more different in personality and needs. She’s incredibly attentive, patient, and clearly takes the time to understand each of them individually. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were in great hands!

Madeline has been absolutely wonderful with our two dogs, who couldn’t be more different in personality and needs. She’s incredibly attentive, patient, and clearly takes the time to understand each of them individually. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were both cared for in a way that suited them best.

Madeline was great—communicative, kind, and reliable! Will definitely rebook for future trips.

Maddy was communicative, professional, and easy to coordinate with. We appreciate that she took the time to learn the specific needs of our cats and her consistent and confident presence while we were on vacation was reassuring.
