About: I work for a doggie daycare and dog walking company and I walk up to 10 dogs at a time by myself in all kinds of weather. In hot weather, I bring them to shaded parks. I use healthy treats for training and every dog improves, some dramatically. My business partner and I have given sick or injured dogs wagon rides on paved bike trails to get them fresh air and socialization with their friends. At the time of this writing, between the daycare and Rover, I have worked with 80 dogs. I am currently working full time on weekdays, but I’m available on weekends for dog walking, house sitting and drop-in visits. Dog walking is included with house sitting. I am available to pet sit in client’s homes and walk dogs. I am an avid hiker, so I would take them for walks and runs if appropriate. I double check to ensure harnesses are adjusted properly and comfortable. I use a dog walking belt to attach leashes to, keeping my hands free to pick up after them. If another dog passes, I distract my dogs by offering treats for sitting, staying and directing attention at me. I love taking them to play in parks or the yard, and give lots of love, head scratches and belly rubs! I take time to train so they will trust me and come to me when called. I use a happy, excited voice to encourage them to walk, and a calm, gentle voice when giving them a treat so they learn to take it gently from my hand. I even learned commands in Spanish to help a dog who understands that language best. In addition, I have earned online certificates in Dog Emotion and Cognition from Duke University and Animal Behavior and Welfare from the University of Edinburgh.

Shianne is a lovely pet sitter. She did drop in care for my cats Finney and Olive and asked all the right questions. Having just moved into my place the cats were a bit aloof and standoffish and still getting used to their surroundings but eventually warmed up to Shianne and even let her pet them. I will definitely utilize her pet sitting services again soon.

About: Hi! I’m Sarah. I’m new to Rover and currently taking a break from my role as an Event Director. I thought there couldn’t be a better way to spend this time than giving some extra love and attention to dogs. I grew up with dogs my entire life and have missed having one around every day. My first dog was a Dalmatian, and later I had a Bichon Poodle who completely stole my heart. While I’m not in a place to have a dog of my own full time right now, I finally have the time, flexibility, and space to care for yours as if they were my own. Whether your pup needs a walk, some playtime, cuddles, or just a caring companion while you’re away, I’ll make sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for. I know how important it is to trust the person you’re leaving your best friend with, and I don’t take that responsibility lightly. A little about me outside of dogs: I love Disney, art, dance, design, great music, the beach, spending time in nature, and finding little moments of joy in everyday life. I can’t wait to meet you and your furry family member! I’m currently taking a break from my full time role as an Event Director, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of time to give your pet the attention they deserve. Whether your dog needs a walk, a drop in visit, or some company while you’re away, I’ll make sure they feel loved, safe, and cared for. I’m available most weekdays and weekends and am happy to work with your schedule whenever possible. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I’ll follow your routines, feeding schedule, exercise preferences, and any special instructions to help your pet feel at ease. I’m attentive, reliable, and believe every animal deserves patience, kindness, and lots of love. I’ll also keep you updated with photos and messages, so you can relax knowing your furry family member is in good hands.

About: What sets me apart is my experience, reliability, and genuine love for animals. I’ve been pet sitting since middle school and have cared for cats and dogs with different personalities and needs. I’m calm, patient, and detail-oriented, and I make sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for. Owners have especially appreciated my communication, reliability, and the peace of mind I provide through regular updates and photos. Pet care fits easily into my weekly routine because I have a very flexible schedule. I’m completely free on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and most weekends, with Thursday availability after 5 PM. This allows me to be flexible with walks, drop-ins, and house sitting. I enjoy spending plenty of time with the pets I care for rather than simply stopping by, and I’m happy to work around their routines, feeding schedules, walks, and individual needs. My availability also makes it easy for me to provide consistent care and regular updates while their owners are away. I treat every pet and home with the same care and respect I would want for my own. In a client’s home, I follow their instructions and their pet’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding, walks, playtime, medications if needed, and any specific house rules. I’m very attentive to safety and details, and I make sure pets are comfortable, supervised, and never left in an unsafe situation. I also keep owners updated with photos and messages so they always know how their pets are doing. My goal is for both the pets and their owners to feel safe, comfortable, and completely at ease while they’re away.

About: I love all animals. I have a very active puppy that loves walks and I know that everyone’s lives get busy. I try and be available as needed but I also work full time. My pet care experience has mostly been with my own animals. Everyone is busy and tend to work long days. It sucks when you feel guilty for not spending time with your dog. Luckily with services like this you are free from guilt and know that your dog is being taken care of. I love having the option of someone walking my dog (especially after a very long day). If you are comfortable with it my dog also loves new friends and long walks. I try and walk my dog everyday. I work full time but have a flexible schedule to care for animals. I have two dogs but I split them with my ex and on those weeks, I’m extra available. I have a large condo that has access to lots of walking paths and nature. The animal would feel safe and comfortable at my home. I’m also able to go to your home and provide care (that can be easier for pets). I currently watch a lot of my friends dogs when they are out and have shown that I care for their space and animals.

About: Hi! My name is Melissa, and I've been an animal lover for as long as I can remember. I currently have three cats of my own who are a big part of our family, and I previously cared for two beloved dogs for many years before I lost them to old age. Through my own pets, I've gained hands on experience with feeding, administering medications when needed, daily walks, playtime, grooming, and recognizing when something isn't quite right. In addition to cats and dogs, I also have experience caring for hamsters and reptiles, so I'm comfortable looking after a variety of pets and following detailed care instructions. As a stay at home mom, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to provide dependable, attentive care. I know how important it is to trust someone with your pets because I feel the same way about my own. I'll treat your pets with patience, kindness, and the same love and attention I give my own animals. Whether your pet needs drop in visits, playtime, feeding, walks, or just some extra companionship while you're away, I'd love the opportunity to help and make sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for. I’m a full time stay at home parent so my availability is pretty open to check up on your fur babies. I am available anytime after 8am Your pet's safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I know every pet has their own routine, so I take the time to follow your instructions closely, including feeding schedules, medications, exercise, litter box cleaning, and any special care they may need. When caring for pets in a client's home, I treat both your home and your pets with the utmost respect. I'll make sure your pet has fresh food and water, plenty of attention, playtime, and companionship, and I'll keep you updated with photos and messages so you can have peace of mind while you're away. I'm attentive to changes in behavior and will contact you immediately if I notice anything concerning. I believe in creating a calm, low stress environment where pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for just as they would with their own family.

About: What sets me apart is that I don't just enjoy being around dogs, I genuinely understand them. I have experience with both pet sitting and training, which means I'm comfortable working with puppies who are still learning the ropes, adult dogs with established routines, and seniors who may need a little extra patience and attention. I'm attentive to behavior, energy levels, and body language, and I enjoy helping reinforce good habits while keeping pets feeling safe, comfortable, and loved. Whether your dog wants an adventure, a game of fetch, a structured walk, or simply someone to sit quietly with them, I meet them where they are. Most of all, I treat every animal as an individual. My goal isn't just to watch your pet. It's to make sure they're happy, well cared for, and excited to see me again. I'm self-employed, which gives me a flexible schedule and the ability to build my day around the pets I'm caring for. Spending time with animals is something I genuinely enjoy, and honestly, it's just as much a source of joy and stress relief for me as it is a part-time way to earn a little extra spending money. Whether it's a walk, a drop-in visit, or an overnight stay, I enjoy getting to know each pet's personality and routine. Some dogs want to play, some want to explore, and some just want a buddy to hang out with. I'm happy to meet them where they are and make sure they feel comfortable, safe, and cared for while you're away. I believe pets do best when their routine stays as normal as possible, so I take the time to learn each pet's schedule, preferences, and personality. Whether I'm caring for them in their home or mine, my focus is on making sure they feel safe, comfortable, exercised, and loved. In a client's home, I respect both the pet's routine and the owner's space. I follow feeding schedules, administer medications if needed, provide walks, playtime, companionship, and plenty of updates so owners know their pets are doing well. I also have experience with basic training and behavior reinforcement, so I'm happy to maintain any commands, boundaries, or routines you're already working on. For puppies, that may mean consistency and structure. For senior pets, it often means patience, comfort, and a little extra attention. Every animal is different. Some want an adventure, some want a cuddle buddy, and some just want someone reliable to keep their world feeling normal until their family gets home. That's the approach I bring to every pet I care for.

About: I've been surrounded by farm animals and domestic pets my whole life and have experience with dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, fish, and therapy animals! I have tons of experience grooming animals, dog sitting for dogs recovering from surgeries, and basic pet care like feeding, giving medication, and playing! I have experience with elderly animals, disabled animals, and have even assisted my dog at her chiropractor appointments! Also, I can give your dog a bath for $1o, my uncle owned a dog grooming business and I have volunteer experience! Additionally, I have volunteered at senior citizen homes and have experience with emotional support animals. I am currently getting my pet pigeon certified to visit people in hospice care! Since I am home for the summer I assist my disabled parents by feeding and playing with our two dogs in Los Angeles. But when I'm in Portland for college I look after a pigeon, a kitten, several fish, and aquatic snails! Additionally, I am great with animals because I love science, am very patient and loving, and I have a strong stomach so I'm great with cleaning up messes! I am very organized and will follow all of your instructions to ensure your baby's safety and happiness! I'll always ensure your pet is comfortable and has water and snuggles! Communication is incredibly important, and I am always available to call or text :)

My dog loves Taylor time! After I come back from a trip, he continues looking for her, which is the best compliment he can give. Taylor has gently worked to figure out the tricks for getting ear and eye medicine delivered to a dog who would prefer we not, while still being a fun playmate, walker, and nap companion. She communicates often and well with me so I know my guy is in good hands when I'm away.

A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Milwaukie stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Milwaukie choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.

To find sitters in Milwaukie with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Milwaukie. On Rover:

  • 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 94% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
