About: I worked at a vet clinic for 3.5 years but due to life changes I now work at a pet store and petsit to continue to work with animals while I work towards my goal of working in vet med again. I’m reliable with my own transportation and am very knowledgeable in proper pet care. I am communicative, compassionate, and attentive to animals and their needs. I have been my own friends’ and family’s pet sitter for the past 5 years and I treat every animal as if they were my own while in my care. My whole life revolves around animals; I have 4 cats of my own and have fostered 15 animals successfully in the past year, ranging from cats of all ages, dogs, and Guinea pigs. I also work directly with animals at my job and am looking to continue that path. I have multiple rooms in my home to separate the animals in my care if needed, I have access to professional services if an emergency were to arise while also having knowledge of what to look for in with different medical conditions that can be present in animals. I have a good understanding of animal behavior and I understand their needs.
“Shianne is an exceptional dog walker! She's incredibly dependable, flexible, and has fantastic communication. She's also wonderfully sweet with our two corgis, and always makes sure they get a great workout. Our Lulu, who is obsessed with greeting people on her walks, especially loves her time with Shianne. She's my go-to person for our pups!”

About: Hi, I’m Mary! I live in West Linn and genuinely love spending time with dogs—whether that’s getting outside for a walk or just keeping them company at home. I started pet sitting because I enjoy the routine, the movement, and of course the dogs themselves. It never feels like “work” to me. I understand how important it is to feel completely comfortable leaving your pet in someone else’s care. I’m dependable, easy to communicate with, and I’ll always keep you updated with photos and little notes so you know how your dog is doing. I take the time to learn your dog’s personality and routine so they feel relaxed, safe, and well cared for. I’d love to meet you and your pup! I am retired, giving me a flexible schedule that easily accommodates daily walks and dependable, consistent pet care, so your pets feel loved every single day. I have decades of dog-care experience, from puppies to seniors, I provide dependable dog walking and drop-in services. Now retired, I focus on creating a safe, positive experience that keeps your dog happy and refreshed.
“Nadine was super responsive and flexible when I needed last minute help with walking my dog. Nadine was great at communicating before and during the walk if there were any questions and being patient with my stubborn boy. Highly recommend!”

“Emily has been a wonderful and reliable dog walker for our Labrador puppy, with dozens of visits/walks from true baby puppyhood to adolescence. We feel very comfortable with her and she has always been communicative and flexible.”

About: I’ve been taking care of my friend’s dogs for a couple years. Whether that’s walking them, feeding them, taking them out to go potty, I am completely experienced in all of those fields. Having had a dog of my own for 6 years, I know how to handle any sort of situation and how to be flexible with other dogs wants and needs. I have plenty of time this summer to help out and play with your pups! I’m available Mon-Fri after 12p and I’m willing to be flexible with times/days! I always make sure my dog’s food and water is filled and put pee pads down when I know I’m going to be away from the house for a little while. Before I start walking my dog I always make sure I have doggy bags filled and sometimes I’ll bring a rubber water bowl for hotter days.
About: Hi! I'm Nate, and if you've got a dog who needs a walk, a cat who needs a buddy, or a pup who just wants a solid hang — you've found the right human. I didn't just grow up around animals — I grew up with them. We're talking dogs, cats, birds, and full-on farm animals. At any given point in my childhood, our place was basically a petting zoo with a roof. I've hand-fed, cleaned up after, played with, and genuinely loved more species than most people have on their bucket list. These days I'm a proud dog owner myself, and I've also fostered for multiple rescues and organizations — including the Puerto Rico Dog Fund and Many Miles from Home Animal Shelter — so I know firsthand what it means to trust someone with your fur baby. What does all of that experience mean for your pup? It means I'm calm in chaos, patient with personalities, and I actually enjoy watching animals just... be themselves. Whether your dog is a zoomies-at-6am type or a "I will sniff this one blade of grass for 45 seconds" type — I'm here for all of it. My goal is simple: to be the person your dog loses their mind over when they hear my car pull up. Walks, hangouts, check-ins — whatever your pet needs, I bring the energy, the patience, and the genuine love of animals to back it up. Your furry friend won't just be in good hands. They'll be having the time of their life. 🐕 I work from home, so your pet gets real quality time — not just a quick pop-in between meetings! I'm also an early riser, so mornings mean walks, fresh air, and getting those zoomies out before most people even hit snooze. Whether I'm at your place or mine, I follow your rules — feeding schedules, routines, preferred spots on the couch, all of it. You know your pet best and I'm here to keep things consistent and comfortable for them. If your pet stays with me, they'll have a fully fenced backyard to roam and my 4-year-old smaller German Shepherd to show them the ropes — she's basically the ultimate icebreaker.
“Stephanie was fantastic. She went above and beyond. She took great care of my dogs. And she did the full walks in the rainstorms. I would definitely recommend and hire her again.”

About: Having grown up on a 20 acre farm for most of my life, I have cared for all shapes and sizes of animals - from horses to snakes, and everything in between! When I moved into an apartment for college, I missed the "dog energy" in our household and set to volunteering hundreds of hours at the Humane Society, which also included basic training skills and walking the most aggressive 100+lb leash pullers. This later evolved into working at a veterinary clinic where I was trained to monitor recovering animals and administer medications safely and with as little stress as possible through Fear Free certification. Animal body language is my second language! I love the outdoors as much as the indoors, and am more than happy to accommodate medical needs. ♡ If you would like extras taken care of during your pets stay or our visit, such as bathing, grooming, nail trims, or a run, just let me know! My dog, Leo, and I are constantly going on hikes and we are more than happy to tucker your pups out with a day trip, just reach out for rates. I currently work as a Braille Librarian for the state and used to teach Low Vision/Blind learners, and I am also fluent in American Sign Language (ASL), so I have a soft spot for dogs that may be Deaf, Blind, or DeafBlind. To top it all off, I am working on weaseling my way into Guide Dog puppy raising, and all the training tips that come along with that. ( : I commute to Salem Wednesday and Friday, which means my schedule during those days is usually pretty limited to anything after 430pm. Otherwise, my weekends are typically completely free and ready to be filled with whatever your fur babies need! Using the Fear Free method, I work with a pet's body language to determine what will work best in the current situation, and when methods may be effective versus stressful. I am ready to go at your pet's pace with whatever they may need, and clearly communicate the process along the way.
About: I have been around dogs my whole life! My mother was a dog breeder, meaning I have experience with puppies! I can’t remember a time when we didn’t have a dog in the house growing up, wasn’t till recently that I haven’t had a pet in the home. I’m a single mom to an animal loving 3 year old, who would be my little helper. I currently work in the medical field meaning I’m comfortable administering all kind of medications, whether that be topical, oral, or injectable medications. I have done pet sitting in the past, I have taken care of many kinds of animals, dogs, cats, horses, livestock, you name it I’ve probably taken care of it! I currently work full time, but I am home on evening and weekends, so I’m home starting Friday night to Sunday night to take your pup out as often as possible. During the week I am gone typically 12-14 hours a day, but if your pup is use to that I can make it work to let them out in the morning and then rush back to let them out once I’m home. I live in a duplex with a small fence in area that I can do quick potty breaks and then live close to walking trails for longer outside times. I have a 3 year old daughter who loves to play with animals. I also love close to parks that I can take dogs to if owner is comfortable with me transporting them. I also live close to my sister who has an active dog who loves friends to play with so that is an option if you have a high energy dog that likes friends.
About: I want to hang out with dogs! I have a 3 year old golden retriever, a cat and a tortoise. You can definitely tell that we love taking care of pets! I am looking to change up my schedule, so it is likely that most of the time I will be available every week day in the morning until about 2 in the afternoon! In my home, we walk a lot! Our dog is high energy and doesn’t really get tired from exercise. We take her on long hikes often but she usually will want to play after! I hope to be able to provide some of that same excitement with your puppy, and replicate the amazing experience I’ve had on the app as a client!

About: I have had dogs since I was 16. Cats since I was 20. I have also owned various other animals, including livestock. My schooling helped me learn general animal care and I have had the same dog trainer for 20 years. Our pets have regular vet care. I pet sit for friends and family often, both at their homes and in our own home. Just informational, I do live with males, including teens, who have attended dog training classes and help when I need to step out if the house. I also have a very large yard for lots of running and exercise. I work fill time, but remote. I can choose to be from home or in office so am available to watch pets at home all day, when needed. We have a large fully fenced yard. We do have chickens, but they are gated in their own area. I have a pet gate to keep dogs from going downstairs unattended and a door as backup. I provide a pet water fountain for constant fresh and flowing hydration. Pets get regular treats and training refreshers to keep their minds sharp and engaged. My house is inundated with both cat and dog toys for constant entertainment.
“Our dog doesn't have a lot of experience with sitters, and Allison knew just how to patiently interact with her as she warmed up to her new friend. We're also going through a house move, so our pup and cats are going through lots of change. It feels good to know that Allison brings the experience we need as an animal lover.”

About: I have grown up with both cats and dogs in the house, even one gerbil! Friends, family, and neighbors have relied on me to care for their animals since the age of 12, and I have experience administering medication and feel comfortable with any extra care your pet may require. I am a freelancer and my last contract ended recently. I am appreciating this downtime, which means I have an open schedule to provide care throughout the day for your pets. I would like to meet your pet in their own environment to keep continuity, and am happy to set up a check-in schedule with you for updates about your pet’s day and routine, including pictures if requested.

About: I offer more than just pet sitting—I provide loving, attentive care that ensures your pets feel safe, comfortable, and nurtured while you're away. I treat every pet like family, keeping their routines, comfort, and happiness at the heart of what I do. You can count on me to keep you updated and your pet well-loved until you return. As a college student returning home for summer, pet care will be part of my daily routine through feeding, walking, grooming, and spending quality time with your pet(s). Will has been walking our elderly dog during these cold months and we couldn’t be happier with his service. We love Will! He makes our lives easier by helping us with our dog and paying close attention to his bumps and aches as he ages. Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
