About: I have trained my dog as a service animal from ages 14-16. He is able to do tasks such as harm prevention, getting an adult, and deep pressure therapy. He also knows basic commands such as sit, down, shake, roll over, wait, stay, and "all done" I have experience rescuing and fostering a puppy, potty training him and teaching him basic commands. I have a cat and have cat sitted for many years for neighbors. I also took care of my teachers baby bunny in 2018, as she entrusted me out of every student to take care of the bunny, Saturn. As a student currently in community college at PCC, and a future RN, I am busy with school. Thanks to PCC and modern technology however, I am able to do most of my classes online through individual learning. I am only doing one class in person (ASL), twice a week, Tuesday and Thursday from 10:30-12:30. Other then that, I have no weekly commitments I have to attend, leaving me open to do anything you require me to for your fur babies! Starting in September, I am starting my CNA program which will be full-time but we can discuss the Fall term in depth once I finish my Summer schooling. If I am allowed to bring your pets to my home, I have a lovely sprawling 1,000 SQFT backyard with lots of grass and area to run in. I also have my own dog (professionally trained and not a barker) who loves other animals (including cats!) so your baby can play with him if you request it. If not, I can put him in an entirely different area so they won't interact. My neighborhood, Robinwood, is absolutely beautiful to walk around, with a public playground, trails, and a river a block away I can take your dog to if you wish! In your home, I will do what you ask me to, whether its just hanging with your dog outside, feeding them, cleaning up a bit around the house, or just dropping in to say "hi" and get some playtime in. Just let me know!
“Shianne is an exceptional dog walker! She's incredibly dependable, flexible, and has fantastic communication. She's also wonderfully sweet with our two corgis, and always makes sure they get a great workout. Our Lulu, who is obsessed with greeting people on her walks, especially loves her time with Shianne. She's my go-to person for our pups!”

“Annalei is great at communicating information and responds very quickly to messages. It had been a while since our pup had been walked by someone other than us but our dog recognized Annalei right away from a few years ago and eagerly went on a walk with her. Annalei is very kind and patient and we felt so comfortable (and grateful she came all the way back to our neighborhood) to walk our dog.”

About: Having grown up on a 20 acre farm for most of my life, I have cared for all shapes and sizes of animals - from horses to snakes, and everything in between! When I moved into an apartment for college, I missed the "dog energy" in our household and set to volunteering hundreds of hours at the Humane Society, which also included basic training skills and walking the most aggressive 100+lb leash pullers. This later evolved into working at a veterinary clinic where I was trained to monitor recovering animals and administer medications safely and with as little stress as possible through Fear Free certification. Animal body language is my second language! I love the outdoors as much as the indoors, and am more than happy to accommodate medical needs. ♡ If you would like extras taken care of during your pets stay or our visit, such as bathing, grooming, nail trims, or a run, just let me know! My dog, Leo, and I are constantly going on hikes and we are more than happy to tucker your pups out with a day trip, just reach out for rates. I currently work as a Braille Librarian for the state and used to teach Low Vision/Blind learners, and I am also fluent in American Sign Language (ASL), so I have a soft spot for dogs that may be Deaf, Blind, or DeafBlind. To top it all off, I am working on weaseling my way into Guide Dog puppy raising, and all the training tips that come along with that. ( : I commute to Salem Wednesday and Friday, which means my schedule during those days is usually pretty limited to anything after 430pm. Otherwise, my weekends are typically completely free and ready to be filled with whatever your fur babies need! Using the Fear Free method, I work with a pet's body language to determine what will work best in the current situation, and when methods may be effective versus stressful. I am ready to go at your pet's pace with whatever they may need, and clearly communicate the process along the way.

“Alyson has been walking my little blind weenie for about a month now. My little girl loves her and is always so excited for her walk. Alyson is so sweet and gentle with her. Alyson communicates well and is prompt. I would highly recommend her!”

About: I’ve been an animal lover my entire life! I have a medically complex cat, so I’m very experienced with giving pills and administering medications. As a pet owner myself, I understand how stressful it can feel to be away from your pet. My goal is to care for your animal with the same attention and genuine care I give my own, so you can feel confident they’re in good hands. I’m currently a medical student at Oregon Health & Science University completing a dedicated research year, which gives me a flexible schedule throughout much of the week. Taking dogs on walks or spending time with animals has become one of my favorite ways to step away from studying, get outside, and recharge, so I’d love for your pet to join me! Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I take the time to learn each pet’s routine, personality, and any special instructions before every visit. Whether I'm walking your dog or caring for your pet in your home, I make sure they have fresh water, plenty of attention, playtime, and a positive experience. I always keep cats indoors and dogs leashed unless instructed otherwise in a secure, designated area. I also provide owners with regular updates with photos so you can have peace of mind while you're away.
“Veronica did a great jobs with my pups this week. Providing them with both walks and drop ins during a busy work week. She was communicative and gave great updates and could tell she genuinely cared about them and their time together. Will hire again!”

“Jon and Lily have been great my dog Archie. We have a regular, recurring schedule where one of them stops by on weekdays to let Archie out and play with him. Would recommend them for any pet care.”

“Helped me out in a last minute request! My pup was so settled after his walks, I knew they had a good time and quality exercise. Also got to meet her dog, very gentle and sweet. 10/10”

About: What sets me apart is my experience, reliability, and genuine love for animals. I’ve been pet sitting since middle school and have cared for cats and dogs with different personalities and needs. I’m calm, patient, and detail-oriented, and I make sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for. Owners have especially appreciated my communication, reliability, and the peace of mind I provide through regular updates and photos. Pet care fits easily into my weekly routine because I have a very flexible schedule. I’m completely free on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and most weekends, with Thursday availability after 5 PM. This allows me to be flexible with walks, drop-ins, and house sitting. I enjoy spending plenty of time with the pets I care for rather than simply stopping by, and I’m happy to work around their routines, feeding schedules, walks, and individual needs. My availability also makes it easy for me to provide consistent care and regular updates while their owners are away. I treat every pet and home with the same care and respect I would want for my own. In a client’s home, I follow their instructions and their pet’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding, walks, playtime, medications if needed, and any specific house rules. I’m very attentive to safety and details, and I make sure pets are comfortable, supervised, and never left in an unsafe situation. I also keep owners updated with photos and messages so they always know how their pets are doing. My goal is for both the pets and their owners to feel safe, comfortable, and completely at ease while they’re away.

About: Nothing is more important than your furbaby’s safety and happiness. I offer dependable pet care that focuses on keeping your dogs and cats comfortable, secure, and well looked after while you’re away. For dogs, I understand leash control, situational awareness, and the value of structured walks. I’m happy to follow your handling instructions so your pet’s routine stays consistent. I have completed clicker training along with foundation and advanced canine fitness courses. For cats, I know they need gentle, calm, and stress-free care. I have experience caring for cats with different personalities and am familiar with cat behavior and body language. I provide reliable drop-in visits that prioritize your cat’s comfort and individual needs. My work as a pet photographer has given me a lot of hands-on experience with dogs and cats of all temperaments. I read their body language well and know how to help them feel relaxed and at ease in new situations. I work from home, so my schedule is very flexible. I’m available on weekends from 8am–4pm, and weekdays work too with at least one day’s notice. Tell me what times you’re looking for, and I’ll accommodate as much as possible. I offer dog walking, drop-in visits, and cat sitting services. Dogs get structured walks with time to sniff and light play. Cats receive interactive play, enrichment, and calm attention based on what they enjoy. I always follow the owner’s instructions and respect each pet’s comfort level. Feeding is included as part of your pet’s regular routine, and my focus is on keeping pets happy, comfortable, and stress-free.
About: I have a very positive personality that I bring out in all work that I do. I am a practicing Speech Language Pathologist with a 3 year old pup of my own—Louie. I have taken care of pets through rover, as well as used it for my own pet care needs. I moved around the Portland area a bit, so I took a break from Rover, but now my life is more settled and I’m happy to take your fur-babies on walks, or drop in! I live in Mountain Park and would be happy to cover any “last minute” dog needs that you have. My schedule will allow for 1-3 walks/drop in visits per day. My most availability is Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I pride myself in being thorough and paying attention to detail. I will follow any and all instructions that you provide. Having a dog of my own, I can supply poop bags and treats if necessary.
“Our dog doesn't have a lot of experience with sitters, and Allison knew just how to patiently interact with her as she warmed up to her new friend. We're also going through a house move, so our pup and cats are going through lots of change. It feels good to know that Allison brings the experience we need as an animal lover.”

About: My family has always had pets! Our last dog who was a Puggle (part Pug and part Beagle) named Pugsley lived for 19 years! He died a few years ago...and we miss him every day! We currently don't own any pets...because we want the flexibility to travel. I retired 2 years ago. We also had a cat named Beano...and he also lived until 19 years old. I don't necessarily have skills...except to love your pet to death! I'm currently retired and have a VERY flexible schedule. We don't own any pets right now...so it'd be really fun to have furry visitors! ROVER is really a good option because I can set my own schedule! We have a front and a backyard. We are not fenced...so if they are outdoors then I'll be sure to be with them...and make sure they are leashed.
About: There are few things I love more than animals. Walks maybe. Or good food. All animals have a special place in my heart, and it is an honor to help care for yours. To me, animals are people too. I am currently working full-time but dedicate time every afternoon and evenings to take walks. I’m up for whatever your pet(s) need whether that means a meandering stroll in your neighborhood, a social experience in a dog park or up some hills to get the glutes working. I am always ready and willing to try new hikes and walks. I prefer care in the clients home. The pets are more comfortable at home and my job is not to disrupt the animals routine. I love learning what works for your pet and implementing that routine in a fun healthy way for your pet.

Coming home to a happy, relaxed dog made all the difference. Finding someone you trust with your pet is extremely important, and we feel incredibly fortunate to have found Marissa. We would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for exceptional care for their dog.
Megan is great! I have a very reactive/slow to warm up dog and Megan has been patient and kind as he has warmed up. My dogs are also very energetic and needy. I feel at ease knowing Megan will take care of them on their daily walks. Megan always provides detailed notes on how the walk went. Megan is always on time and is very reliable. I would recommend Megan to any friend or family!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
