My mother is a veterinarian and I have lived around and cared for animals my entire life. Before college I also spent a year working as a vet tech assistant where I learned and honed a number of skills including: subcutaneous and intramuscular injections, administration of oral medication and subcutaneous fluids, eye and ear drops, and basic emergency care. I have an eight month old rough collie puppy named Belphie. I also still regularly watch my mom's pets for her when she travels! She has two elderly cats who both require daily medications and care, as well as fish, reptiles, and her own dog.
