“Helped me out in a last minute request! My pup was so settled after his walks, I knew they had a good time and quality exercise. Also got to meet her dog, very gentle and sweet. 10/10”

About: Having grown up on a 20 acre farm for most of my life, I have cared for all shapes and sizes of animals - from horses to snakes, and everything in between! When I moved into an apartment for college, I missed the "dog energy" in our household and set to volunteering hundreds of hours at the Humane Society, which also included basic training skills and walking the most aggressive 100+lb leash pullers. This later evolved into working at a veterinary clinic where I was trained to monitor recovering animals and administer medications safely and with as little stress as possible through Fear Free certification. Animal body language is my second language! I love the outdoors as much as the indoors, and am more than happy to accommodate medical needs. ♡ If you would like extras taken care of during your pets stay or our visit, such as bathing, grooming, nail trims, or a run, just let me know! My dog, Leo, and I are constantly going on hikes and we are more than happy to tucker your pups out with a day trip, just reach out for rates. I currently work as a Braille Librarian for the state and used to teach Low Vision/Blind learners, and I am also fluent in American Sign Language (ASL), so I have a soft spot for dogs that may be Deaf, Blind, or DeafBlind. To top it all off, I am working on weaseling my way into Guide Dog puppy raising, and all the training tips that come along with that. ( : I commute to Salem Wednesday and Friday, which means my schedule during those days is usually pretty limited to anything after 430pm. Otherwise, my weekends are typically completely free and ready to be filled with whatever your fur babies need! Using the Fear Free method, I work with a pet's body language to determine what will work best in the current situation, and when methods may be effective versus stressful. I am ready to go at your pet's pace with whatever they may need, and clearly communicate the process along the way.
“I have a resource-guarding, difficult dog that k did a wonderful job looking after for 2-plus weeks. She is reliable and responsible and I will be using her again in the future. You should too!”

“Jeannine was great with my dog, who can sometimes be reactive around other dogs. I immediately felt very comfortable and my dog was a happy girl after her walk. Looking forward to using her again.”

“Love Megan and Michael and my dogs love them even more!! Very consistent, kind and thoughtful. We have our 2 goldens walked 3x a week and they are always on-time and do an excellent job. Highly recommend!”

“Everyone reported that Alyssa was really good with my brats. My SIL was really impressed with Alyssa's attire, where she had leashes, treats, doggie bags. My neighbors were quite impressed by the way she handled my dogs, and talked to them. My dogs seemed happy. Hopefully Alyssa would not mind coming back and caring for our dogs in the future. While I never really had the pleasure of meeting Alyssa, based on these reports I would love to hire her in the fall term 2-3 days a week.”

“Liz is great with my 🐶, even with short notice she was able to accommodate a walk for poppie, she always updates me on how my 🐕🦺 is doing and sends pictures of my 🐕🦺on their walk. Thank you Liz😀”

About: I have a very positive personality that I bring out in all work that I do. I am a practicing Speech Language Pathologist with a 3 year old pup of my own—Louie. I have taken care of pets through rover, as well as used it for my own pet care needs. I moved around the Portland area a bit, so I took a break from Rover, but now my life is more settled and I’m happy to take your fur-babies on walks, or drop in! I live in Mountain Park and would be happy to cover any “last minute” dog needs that you have. My schedule will allow for 1-3 walks/drop in visits per day. My most availability is Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I pride myself in being thorough and paying attention to detail. I will follow any and all instructions that you provide. Having a dog of my own, I can supply poop bags and treats if necessary.

About: I’ve had dogs my whole life and absolutely love being around them, but I also have plenty of experience caring for cats. I’ve pet and house sat overnight multiple times for friends and family, so I’m comfortable with daily care, walks, feeding, and keeping pets company while you’re away. I also enjoy hiking and being outdoors, so if your dog loves walks and adventures, I know some great spots for dog walking and exercise. I’m currently a student at Hillsboro Aero Academy working toward becoming a pilot. I have flight lessons 3–5 days a week, but I’m usually only at school for about 2–3 hours at a time. Outside of flight training, I’m very flexible and available for pet sitting, walks, drop-ins, and overnight care. I make sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for while their owner is away. In a client’s home, I stick closely to their pet’s normal routine, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, bathroom breaks, and any special instructions they provide. I also make sure pets get plenty of attention, exercise, and companionship so they don’t feel stressed or lonely. For walks and drop-ins, I focus on keeping pets active, safe, and happy while also giving updates to owners when needed. If I’m staying overnight, I make sure the home stays clean and secure while giving pets consistent care and company throughout the stay.
About: I’ve grown up with dogs all my life. Now, I have a cat, and I would love to spend some time with your puppers and also take a load off your plate! I used to walk dogs through Wag, so I’m accustomed to meeting and befriending new dogs very quickly. My schedule is pretty flexible, and I’d love to hang out with your pups! All services up to two dogs. Dog walking: I’ll walk your dog(s) for 30-60 minutes. My parents’ dog is not very well socialized, so I know how to keep an anxious dog comfortable and under control. Drop-Ins: I’ll feed your dog, take them out, and play with them for a while - whatever you request! House-sitting: All of the above PLUS I’ll stay overnight, water your plants, and bring in your mail. I work in theater on a freelance basis, so I often find myself with a lot of free time. Help me fill it with some pet care! I own my own cat, so I am unable to take your pets into my own home. However, I am happy to visit or stay in your home to care for your pets.

Durham dog parents share their Rover experiences
Here’s a natural, Rover-style review you could post: Christopher was absolutely fantastic with our dog. From the moment we met him, it was clear that he genuinely loves and cares about animals. He was always on time, communicative, and went above and beyond during every visit. He took our dog on great walks around the neighborhood and even picked up the pace and ran with him when he wanted to run, which our dog absolutely loved. We came home to a happy, well-exercised pup every time. Christopher was reliable, attentive, and treated our dog like his own. We’ve used several dog walkers over the years, and Christopher is easily the best we’ve ever had. We wouldn’t hesitate to book him again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for exceptional care for their dog.

Annalei is great at communicating information and responds very quickly to messages. It had been a while since our pup had been walked by someone other than us but our dog recognized Annalei right away from a few years ago and eagerly went on a walk with her. Annalei is very kind and patient and we felt so comfortable (and grateful she came all the way back to our neighborhood) to walk our dog.

Caitlin and her boyfriend Aleksander did a wonderful job walking our two huskies. They have also house sat for us before and did an exceptional job. Appreciate their responsiveness and thoroughness! One of our girls recently had surgery and the other is elderly; both require specialized care. Caitlin and Aleksander listened carefully to their unique needs and took great care of them. Thankful for the peace of mind knowing they were in good hands while we were away. Highly recommend!
