About: Hi! I’m a dependable animal lover with over 20 years of experience caring for my own pets, as well as dogs and cats for friends and family. Whether your pet needs a daily walk, drop-in visit, fresh food and water, litter box cleaning, playtime, or overnight care while you’re away, I’m happy to help. I understand that every pet has their own personality and routine, and I take the time to make them feel comfortable, safe, and well cared for. My goal is to provide reliable, attentive care that gives you peace of mind while you’re away and keeps your pet happy in their familiar environment. I’m comfortable caring for both cats and dogs and pride myself on being responsible, communicative, and respectful of your home. I’ll treat your pets with the same kindness, patience, and attention I’d want for my own. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members! As a Senior IT Manager that works remotely Monday-Friday, I have incredible flexibility. I simply need reliable internet to work anywhere in the United States. I have experience caring for dogs that have full free range of the house and all furniture to those who have specific boundaries that need to be followed. I’m very comfortable abiding by all house rules within any setting. This loosely applies to cats who often only abide by their own rules! Haha
“Alyssa was so nice, thorough, and incredibly professional. As soon as she wrote me back with a detailed list of questions I knew she was going to be awesome. Her pre-screening chit chat is reassuring and a clear indicator of an experienced animal caretaker. Highly recommend Alyssa to anyone. Especially if you have an awkward, particular dog like mine. Or a pet with special needs. She is clearly passionate and educated. Alyssa, thank you so much for making the last minute trip out here! Since my partner just started full-time school and already works nights full-time and I work full-time, the pup's schedule has been disrupted and he's been very anxious because he's used to having one of us home with him at all times. Needless to say, I felt like this walk was super important, lol. I was so anxious that he wouldn't get his much needed sniffari+exercise today since we weren't able to do it yesterday. You came in so clutch!”

About: I have had dogs all my life! All different type for big and small. I have cared for mostly my family and friends dogs and animals. I'm good with just taking a walk, feedings or just play time I'm open to any type of care. I am smoke-free and drug-free. I'm organize and can work around most schedule. I am reliable and have a reliable vehicle. Also I am available on weekends if needed. I am in the Tualatin area near Jurgens Park and I am willing to travel to care for your fur baby. If you have any further questions for me please don't hesitate to ask. I am available during the week after 5pm, and open on the weekends. I have dog parks need my home but totally happy with your doggie parks as well. I have a fully fenced yard, I do have a cat and 2 bunnies :) my pup passed in December and looking forward to hanging with other pups.
“Helped me out in a last minute request! My pup was so settled after his walks, I knew they had a good time and quality exercise. Also got to meet her dog, very gentle and sweet. 10/10”

About: Having grown up on a 20 acre farm for most of my life, I have cared for all shapes and sizes of animals - from horses to snakes, and everything in between! When I moved into an apartment for college, I missed the "dog energy" in our household and set to volunteering hundreds of hours at the Humane Society, which also included basic training skills and walking the most aggressive 100+lb leash pullers. This later evolved into working at a veterinary clinic where I was trained to monitor recovering animals and administer medications safely and with as little stress as possible through Fear Free certification. Animal body language is my second language! I love the outdoors as much as the indoors, and am more than happy to accommodate medical needs. ♡ If you would like extras taken care of during your pets stay or our visit, such as bathing, grooming, nail trims, or a run, just let me know! My dog, Leo, and I are constantly going on hikes and we are more than happy to tucker your pups out with a day trip, just reach out for rates. I currently work as a Braille Librarian for the state and used to teach Low Vision/Blind learners, and I am also fluent in American Sign Language (ASL), so I have a soft spot for dogs that may be Deaf, Blind, or DeafBlind. To top it all off, I am working on weaseling my way into Guide Dog puppy raising, and all the training tips that come along with that. ( : I commute to Salem Wednesday and Friday, which means my schedule during those days is usually pretty limited to anything after 430pm. Otherwise, my weekends are typically completely free and ready to be filled with whatever your fur babies need! Using the Fear Free method, I work with a pet's body language to determine what will work best in the current situation, and when methods may be effective versus stressful. I am ready to go at your pet's pace with whatever they may need, and clearly communicate the process along the way.
About: I have a very positive personality that I bring out in all work that I do. I am a practicing Speech Language Pathologist with a 3 year old pup of my own—Louie. I have taken care of pets through rover, as well as used it for my own pet care needs. I moved around the Portland area a bit, so I took a break from Rover, but now my life is more settled and I’m happy to take your fur-babies on walks, or drop in! I live in Mountain Park and would be happy to cover any “last minute” dog needs that you have. My schedule will allow for 1-3 walks/drop in visits per day. My most availability is Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I pride myself in being thorough and paying attention to detail. I will follow any and all instructions that you provide. Having a dog of my own, I can supply poop bags and treats if necessary.
“Veronica did a great jobs with my pups this week. Providing them with both walks and drop ins during a busy work week. She was communicative and gave great updates and could tell she genuinely cared about them and their time together. Will hire again!”

“Annalei is so wonderful! She is great at communicating and does a wonderful job to help to keep our dog safe, happy and reassuring us while we are away. We are so happy to have found her, she is such a good match for our dog. Thanks Annalei for being such a great dog walker!”

“I really struggle to trust people with my dog, but had a good feeling about Bridget. She has followed all instructions and I’ve very much appreciated her updates. I come home to a happy boy every day so I know he is well taken care of! It’s given me a ton of peace of mind. Definitely will continue to have her walk him until she can’t anymore!”

“Liz is great with my 🐶, even with short notice she was able to accommodate a walk for poppie, she always updates me on how my 🐕🦺 is doing and sends pictures of my 🐕🦺on their walk. Thank you Liz😀”

“My poor baby has been sick so hasn’t been able to get out and play with others like he usually does. He is feeling better and is full of energy but still not ready for going back to his normal socializing— so in comes Christopher to the rescue! London was so excited to go for a walk with him and was doing his puppy run with legs flailing with so much excitement — it was just delightful to see knowing he’s been home bound for 2 weeks. Christopher was great and kept up with his pent up energy and left smiling so it definitely went well. Big bonus: Christopher lives nearby my neighborhood!!! It is always great to have folks that love and watch over our pets nearby!”

About: Growing up, my family was very pet oriented! Mainly dogs and cats, but also a few other creatures. Growing up with animals taught me the basics, and as time moved on I honed my skills and learned to listen to animals and respect their boundaries. When I was in my teenage years, my parents had a couple litters of puppies that I would take care of a majority of the time. They were my favorite memories, and I will still tell anyone that will listen that their tiny ears were like velvet. We began training the pups before they were adopted, and I have trained quite a few dogs in some areas; my shining achievement so far is my dog balancing a treat on her nose- yet only for a few moments before she gets excited and flicks it off to eat it. In high school I volunteered at my local animal shelter, my duties there were help with cleaning and socializing animals, and talking with people about the animals I knew and helped them get adopted. I have also pet sat for different friends and families over the years, and have heard positive feedback each time! I have a motivation and passion to keep animals happy, and will go to great lengths to ensure their happiness. :) I am a currently a student at Chemeketa! I am mainly an online class taker, so I am in the Portland area most of the time. At the time of writing this, I am on summer vacation, so my schedule is much more flexible. Come September there will be some changes to my calendar, but for now I can work with you and your specific needs very easily. I cannot bring animals into my home (we have a cat that does not like to share) but I can ensure you that I am a very dependable person! I can walk dogs (or cats!) at their own pace and needs- whether that's in highly populated areas for lots of attention, or quiet trails to run around and enjoy nature. I also understand that there may be a level of unease for allowing a stranger into your home or around your beloved pets, but I can promise that the only thing I am focused on if ensuring your pets happiness!

“I asked Leanne to walk my pup while I was at work (away for about 14 hours). Leanne was timely, professional, and most of all, patient with my pup. She arrived at the agreed upon time to meet my pup, asked appropriate questions, and followed through with what was agreed upon. Dexter was pretty shy at first, but Leanne took the time to gain his trust meanwhile communicating with me the entire time. I would 100% recommend Leanne for more dog walking needs. I trust Leanne with my pup, which is saying a tremendous amount because Dexter is my pride and joy. If you are looking for a dependable, trustworthy, compassionate dog lover to walk your dog, look no further.”

About: I really don't what sets me apart from other sitters. I've had pets all my life. I've only just started dogsitting for neighbors about 2ish years ago and so far they like me. I'm currently unemployed so pet care fits perfectly well into my daily and or weekly routine. It's a good way to earn some money in between job searching. I can easily follow instructions if you have a pet who has a more strict schedule or I'm pretty chill if your pet does not need lots of care.
The median cost per walk for dog walking in Rivergrove is $20
Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Rivergrove
Coming home to a happy, relaxed dog made all the difference. Finding someone you trust with your pet is extremely important, and we feel incredibly fortunate to have found Marissa. We would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for exceptional care for their dog.
Here’s a natural, Rover-style review you could post: Christopher was absolutely fantastic with our dog. From the moment we met him, it was clear that he genuinely loves and cares about animals. He was always on time, communicative, and went above and beyond during every visit. He took our dog on great walks around the neighborhood and even picked up the pace and ran with him when he wanted to run, which our dog absolutely loved. We came home to a happy, well-exercised pup every time. Christopher was reliable, attentive, and treated our dog like his own. We’ve used several dog walkers over the years, and Christopher is easily the best we’ve ever had. We wouldn’t hesitate to book him again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for exceptional care for their dog.

Annalei is great at communicating information and responds very quickly to messages. It had been a while since our pup had been walked by someone other than us but our dog recognized Annalei right away from a few years ago and eagerly went on a walk with her. Annalei is very kind and patient and we felt so comfortable (and grateful she came all the way back to our neighborhood) to walk our dog.

Caitlin and her boyfriend Aleksander did a wonderful job walking our two huskies. They have also house sat for us before and did an exceptional job. Appreciate their responsiveness and thoroughness! One of our girls recently had surgery and the other is elderly; both require specialized care. Caitlin and Aleksander listened carefully to their unique needs and took great care of them. Thankful for the peace of mind knowing they were in good hands while we were away. Highly recommend!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
