About: EVERY PET WILL NEED TO HAVE TICK AND FLEA MEDICATION PROOF. THEY NEED TO BE BATHE AND CLEAN BEFORE THEIR STAY. WE WILL REJECT ANY PETS AND ITEMS PROVIDED FOR THEIR STAY IF IT IS NOT CLEAN. No exceptions. Every puppy and dog deserve to be treated as a part of family. That is what I was taught growing up with dogs and having them as a part of my family. I will never treat any dog or puppy as less than family. Dogs are meant to be treated with just as much love and care as you would be towards your babies. Working remotely has given me the opportunity to care for pups and dogs. I am always there looking after the dogs and making sure they get their potty breaks and entertained as much as I can by taking them to the park or just simply giving them the ear scratches. I’ll make sure that each and every dog that I care for is safe and comfortable for each night. I always make it a habit to take each dog out one last time before I sleep so that you can feel ensure they are well cared for. I love taking photos and mostly random ones for you throughout the booking. If my prices are too high..please know it is for a specific reason...I will ensure that your family member or baby pup is well taken care of and that I will keep you updated everyday. I am with the pups all day so they won’t be left alone. I have a large love for dogs and it is one thing that will never change. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: As a courtesy, I do ask that all dogs are washed and cleaned before being dropped off for their stay. Thank you :) I give updates daily with pictures of when I go out for walks or playing. I work from home so I will be with the dog all day and will be able to get help from my husband to care for the dogs. Dogs will go out once or twice in the morning, afternoon and once more at night. I always take the dogs out once more before I sleep. I do ask that pick up time is no later than 8pm. If this is a issue please let us know and we can discuss it further. I always make sure they have enough water and is fed appropriately with the instructions from the pet owner. There is a little park in my apartment that I do take the dogs to sometimes, but most of the time I go on 15 minute walks with the dogs. I work from home so I will be with the dogs all day. It definitely makes it easier for me to tend to any needs that they have. When going on walks, I always make sure that there’s no other dog interaction and that I keep a safe distance from others. I make sure that all dogs are safe if taken to dog parks.
About: Having grown up on a 20 acre farm for most of my life, I have cared for all shapes and sizes of animals - from horses to snakes, and everything in between! When I moved into an apartment for college, I missed the "dog energy" in our household and set to volunteering hundreds of hours at the Humane Society, which also included basic training skills and walking the most aggressive 100+lb leash pullers. This later evolved into working at a veterinary clinic where I was trained to monitor recovering animals and administer medications safely and with as little stress as possible through Fear Free certification. Animal body language is my second language! I love the outdoors as much as the indoors, and am more than happy to accommodate medical needs. ♡ If you would like extras taken care of during your pets stay or our visit, such as bathing, grooming, nail trims, or a run, just let me know! My dog, Leo, and I are constantly going on hikes and we are more than happy to tucker your pups out with a day trip, just reach out for rates. I currently work as a Braille Librarian for the state and used to teach Low Vision/Blind learners, and I am also fluent in American Sign Language (ASL), so I have a soft spot for dogs that may be Deaf, Blind, or DeafBlind. To top it all off, I am working on weaseling my way into Guide Dog puppy raising, and all the training tips that come along with that. ( : I commute to Salem Wednesday and Friday, which means my schedule during those days is usually pretty limited to anything after 430pm. Otherwise, my weekends are typically completely free and ready to be filled with whatever your fur babies need! Using the Fear Free method, I work with a pet's body language to determine what will work best in the current situation, and when methods may be effective versus stressful. I am ready to go at your pet's pace with whatever they may need, and clearly communicate the process along the way.
“Helped me out in a last minute request! My pup was so settled after his walks, I knew they had a good time and quality exercise. Also got to meet her dog, very gentle and sweet. 10/10”

About: Hi! Searching for someone to look after your fur babies? Whether it’s walking, bathing, feeding, playing, or spending the night, I’ve got you covered! I have taken care of dogs for 1 year now. I began with my mom’s clients, and now I am expanding to Rover. I know how important these little guys can be to one’s family, so I pour my all into my time with your pets. I am looking forward to meeting your fur babies! I am great with high energy pets, and I love to get close to those shy guys. I am taking full time online classes at PCC, so I am unemployed this summer. The classes are asynchronous, so I am able to work around you! I do plan on starting my CNA classes in August, which is around 8 hours a day, but I will update my availability when that time comes. I am basically available whenever I am needed. I know it can be scary for both you and your pets to let a stranger into your home, but my mission is to make your pets as comfortable as possible. I approach pets according to their specific needs. I follow whatever routine is necessary, and will go above and beyond to make your pet’s time with me the best it can be. I pay close attention to their behavior, and I adapt.
“I have a resource-guarding, difficult dog that k did a wonderful job looking after for 2-plus weeks. She is reliable and responsible and I will be using her again in the future. You should too!”

About: As well as having my own dog growing up, I’ve taken care of my friend’s dogs and love them like my own! You won’t have to worry about leaving your furry friend with me for an abundance of walks and care. I work part time and am available to spend time with your dog anytime after 9 am Tuesday through Saturday and all day Sundays and Mondays! Perfect for taking your dog out for a mid day walk while you’re at work! 👌🏼 My highest priority when taking care of your dog is safety. Anything I can do to make your dog feel safe and happy as well as those around us on walks is what I’m all about. 🙂
“Alyssa was so nice, thorough, and incredibly professional. As soon as she wrote me back with a detailed list of questions I knew she was going to be awesome. Her pre-screening chit chat is reassuring and a clear indicator of an experienced animal caretaker. Highly recommend Alyssa to anyone. Especially if you have an awkward, particular dog like mine. Or a pet with special needs. She is clearly passionate and educated. Alyssa, thank you so much for making the last minute trip out here! Since my partner just started full-time school and already works nights full-time and I work full-time, the pup's schedule has been disrupted and he's been very anxious because he's used to having one of us home with him at all times. Needless to say, I felt like this walk was super important, lol. I was so anxious that he wouldn't get his much needed sniffari+exercise today since we weren't able to do it yesterday. You came in so clutch!”

“Amy was available to walk my high energy doodle on very last minute request. She was very communicative and took the best pictures of my dog. I’ll definitely use Amy again!”

“Angela is a lovely person who our dog loved! And he is not like that with anyone so I think he sensed she’s a true animal lover! She is punctual, provided detailed reports for walks, and she made communication super easy. I highly recommend Angela for your fur babies!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Tualatin
Caitlin and her boyfriend Aleksander did a wonderful job walking our two huskies. They have also house sat for us before and did an exceptional job. Appreciate their responsiveness and thoroughness! One of our girls recently had surgery and the other is elderly; both require specialized care. Caitlin and Aleksander listened carefully to their unique needs and took great care of them. Thankful for the peace of mind knowing they were in good hands while we were away. Highly recommend!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
