“Trustworthy, reliable, punctual, friendly and above all careful with my little frenchie Bambino. I had a medical emergency, and needed someone to walk my baby on short notice. Penny took care of him like he was her own. I’m forever grateful.”

“Lilieana was so kind and gracious in the booking process. She also lives nearby so made everything pretty easy. The pups looked pleased on the pictures and are happy that we are home . Frankie sniffed around for a little while wondering if she was going to come back. Definitely a great sitter pick.”

“Michelle was wonderful. I had boarded my cat Roo in the past, but she would be very unhappy for a few days after I'd get her home. I had to be away for a week for a family emergency, and decided to hire a pet sitter to come in twice a day to feed and play with her instead. This was the longest I've had to be away from my cat and Michelle took amazing care of her. Likewise, Roo loved Michelle so much, I've never seen her get so attached to someone so quickly. On her visits she fed, watered, played with her, cleaned her litter box, cleaned up after Roo's water protest and took such great pictures of her. When I returned home, instead of Roo complaining about my absence for a few days, she only complained for a few hours. Such a huge difference and I'll never board her again. Michelle is thorough, responsible and dependable. I will use her again if she's available, and I would recommend her services to others. You cannot go wrong hiring Michelle to watch your pets. They will be safe and well cared for. Thank you again Michelle!”

“Corey is absolutely amazing. He goes above and beyond to care for our puppy, and Morhan ADORES him. We love having Corey as part of our family, and that's exactly how he treats us and our baby.”

“Anika came by for the meet and greet and was exactly on time! She is very friendly and personable. She took care of our two cats while we were gone (although she didn't see much of Zipper because he's shy). She sent pictures each day of playing with Pixie. I would recommend her to anyone.”

“Dallas did a great job of taking care of my 2 cats while I was. She is very responsible and definitely a cat person. My Romeo took to her immediately. I highly the and will book her again.”

“I could not wish for a better person to entrust the care of my best cat friend to. So much so that Jayne has been my cat's only caregiver when I have had to be gone. Jayne always puts Mouse's (my cat) needs first providing her active playtime, affection, and following her well established routine. Jayne provides me with a narrative of each visit that makes me feel like I am right there. Her professionalism combined with her true love and appreciation of animals makes her the best!”

“This is the second time Emily has taken care of Gracie and she gave her the attention and love she was needing! We will definitely be regular repeat customers, Gracie loves Emily and she does an excellent job taking care of her!!”

“Faith is so wonderful with my dogs. She walked them to the trail all the time which is their favorite place to walk. She even carried a bottle water for the dogs when the weather was very hot. I highly recommend Faith to other dogs owners.”

“Nathan is taking such good care of my very active doggy duo! He's helping them (and me!) through a transition to being home alone all day for the first time in their lives and it's been a tremendous relief to know that they are getting exercise, enrichment, and attention from Nathan during the day. He has been communicative, flexible, and highly trustworthy. It's clear that Nathan is a dog lover and understands their needs. I'm so grateful for his time with my dogs and he has my wholehearted recommendation!”

“Jiwan is an excellent caretaker for the animals. She is very conscientious and thorough with her care and Peanut was happy to see her. Thank you so much for caring for him. I love this service!”

About: I have been a pet owner for over 20 years and have taken care of a variety of pets, including dogs, cats, fish, and guinea pigs. I treat my own fur baby, Dexter, like my own child and I will do the same for yours! He’s my best friend, we do everything together & that’s exactly how I will treat your pup or kitty. I would love to take your fur baby on a nature hike, to the local coffee shop for a puppuccino, to a park to play fetch, or even just playing and lounging around the home. I am here to keep your pet safe and comfortable. Whatever works well and best for them. I work a full-time hybrid position, so my schedule can be flexible at times with advanced scheduling. I am typically able to interact with your fur child as much as needed! We can go on a short walk or hang out at home before I go to work, during my lunch break, and after I am off! Weekends are usually wide open availability. I am no longer offering boarding services at my home, however, I would love to check in on your pet at your home as much as needed. Due to having a pup of my own with his own needs, I will not be able to spend the night at your home. Please note, this prior to booking. I am only available for drop-in visits. Drop in visits typically range from 3-7 times per day, depending on your pet’s needs. I want to ensure your pet is comfortable and safe in the comfort of their home.
About: I have grown up with pets and even found my first job working at an animal boarding house. You could say I learned to become a professional dog walker at a young age. I have two high anxiety dogs and have been working on their social skills and coping methods to help their anxiety. I work full-time from home but take frequent breaks to let the dogs go out and play and take multiple walks a day to give them exercise. Weekends are mostly free to cuddle and to play with the fur babies. When house sitting or boarding pets I stay close so they be taken care of as needed. I keep my own pets on a schedule feeding, potty breaks and play with puzzles to earn treats. I will follow clients care guidelines to maintain consistency and keep them comfortable while their owners are gone.
About: Animals have always been part of my life — from horses to fish, and most importantly, dogs. For the past 2+ years I’ve been a foster with the Portland Dachshund Rescue, caring for everything from energetic puppies to seniors with medical needs. Through local dachshund meetups and rescue work, I’ve become known as a trusted safe space for small dogs in the Portland community. What sets me apart is the blend of heart and hands-on skills: • Experience with senior dogs, medical care, and even injections when needed. • Specialized understanding of dachshunds and other small breeds. • A home set up with secure fencing and stairs for tiny dogs’ safety. • The flexibility of working from home most days, with the option to bring pups to the office on others. I treat every guest like my own — with patience, love, and individualized care. Most days I work from home, so your pup will get plenty of company and attention throughout the day. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays I go into the office, but I can often bring a guest dog with me if needed, so they won’t be left alone. Because I only host up to two small dogs at a time (20 lbs and under), I can keep routines flexible — from regular potty breaks and short walks to cuddle breaks on the couch. My schedule is designed to give your pup a safe, consistent rhythm while you’re away. Whether your pup is staying at my townhome or I’m caring for them in yours, safety is always the top priority. My home is rescue-approved with secure fencing, pet stairs, and even an outdoor ramp in progress for tiny legs. Guests are always supervised, indoors and out. If I’m in your home, I treat your space with the same respect I’d want for my own. I understand the trust it takes to hand over your keys, and I’m happy to follow any security routines or send photos so you feel comfortable. My goal is simple: peace of mind for you, and a safe, happy experience for your pet.
About: I have had cats over many years... I have two 9 year old Ragdolls. Their needs and health are top priority and so important to me. When your kitties are in my care, so will theirs be. I worry about my fluffy babies when I am away, so when they have the care they need, I feel so relieved and grateful. That will be my goal for you when you're away. You can feel good knowing that I'll take the best care of your furry family members! :) The type of work I do allows me to kitty sit on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday afternoon/evening. Saturday/Sunday late morning and evening. I may be able to squeeze in Monday and Tuesday! My kitties are indoor. I don't let them out unless it's on my balcony and I'm watching them! They won't go outside, and when maintenance has to come by, I always make sure to remind them to NOT let them outside! :) I give them lots of loves and play! I'm their world! I would do two drop-in visits for your kitties. Make sure they have water, food, clean litter box... And give them pets and keep them company for a bit. I like to have pictures sent to me so I know my cats are okay, so I could do that for you if you'd want.
About: I grew up with animals always around, dogs, cats, and birds, but am not ready to have one of my own again at this time. I work from home so will be available to your pets at all times. I have a big fenced back yard to play in. I limit stays to 1 household at a time to ensure everyone is familiar and comfortable with eachother. I am comfortable with pets of all ages and experienced in administering any medicines needed. I do live with a partner, while he is an animal lover too, I will be the sole sitter for your pets during their stay. I really look forward to meeting your fur babies! I work from home so I’ll be available at all hours of the day. My workday usually starts at 7am but that is highly flexible. My house is small but I have a large fenced in backyard and am usually okay just keeping the door open for pets to go in and out as they like during down time. I prefer for your pets to stay with me but if you need me to come to your place that can be arranged. I will respect your home and your home’s safety however you deem. I’m here to help you and your pets feel as comfortable as possible while you are away
“Michelle did a great job with her first drop-in visit for our two cats! Communication was excellent—she kept us updated with messages and photos, which gave us peace of mind while we were away. We could tell she was attentive and caring, and our cats seemed comfortable with her. Would definitely book her again!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Troutdale
We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. Skylar treated Miss Kitty like she was her own, and her updates made us feel completely at ease while we were traveling. She was punctual, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure our cat was comfortable and well cared for. Coming home to a happy cat is the best review we can give. Thank you, Skylar—we’ll definitely be booking with you again!

We were so thankful to have Emily take care of our cat Sophie. Being a senior, Sophie is a bit picky about what she eats and wants to eat multiple times a day. Plus she's on oral medications twice a day. Emily jumped right into our somewhat complex daily routine and did a fantastic job. She gave us updates with each visit, made Sophie snacks to have during the day and evening and even brought in our mail and took out our trash. Overall, Sophie was well cared for while we were away and the peace of mind we had knowing she was in Emily's capable hands was priceless. We will definitely be using Emily again and would highly recommend her.
Michelle took great care of my 2 kitties! She spent extra time with them as they were pretty nervous/anxious with my absence. She sent daily updates with photos, as well as cleaned their litter box and made sure they had plenty of food and water. Highly recommend to reach out to Michelle for any pet sitting needs!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Troutdale. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
