“Moving back to the PACNW has been hard and I always worry about finding someone perfect, caring, and feels the same way about our fur babies as we do. I am so thankful I found Jessica. She is exactly what we always dream of finding in a pet sitter. She has great communication, and I always love seeing all of the pictures she sends during her visits. One of our “kids” is a new rescue that has joined our family. She has been patient and understands his behaviors. If you are looking for someone, she is the best out there! Thank you Jessica! We are lucky to have you! 🥰”

“Susana took wonderful care of our kitties while we were away. She took daily photos and gave regular updates on how they were doing, and was kind, communicative, and very professional the whole time. We are glad we found her and are excited to be able to work with her again!!”

“Michelle took amazing care of our cats and very skittish dog! She also went above and beyond by helping us take care of something we forgot for our trip. We will definitely have Michelle take care of our “kids” the next time we’re away!!”

About: I grew up with Dachshunds in my family for over 15 years, and I’ve had my own dog for the past two years. I’ve been lucky to share my life with furry friends! I love spending time playing and cuddling with them! I work from home, so I get to spend lots of quality time with my furry babies. We visit the dog park a couple of times a week, and on weekends, we love going on hikes together. It’s such a joy to share these moments with them! We have a backyard and two friendly dogs to keep your furry baby company. We’ll make sure your pup has fun, stays safe, and feels happy while they’re with us!
“Sammy is an amazing pet sitter! She communicated quickly, made us feel very comfortable and our pets loved her. We are very thankful for her care while we were away from home!”

“Kristy is absolutely amazing when it comes to caring for pets. She quickly bonded with my very shy cat, and after just the first check-in, I felt completely at ease—even though I was thousands of miles away for two weeks, the longest we've ever been apart. Kristy is reliable, communicative, and punctual with her visits. I wholeheartedly trust her with my pet's wellbeing. Five stars—highly recommended!”

“10/10 I will definitely be reaching out to rebook in the future! I had Madelyn drop in to check on my dogs during the day, and right from our meet and greet I knew they would be in great hands:) She is very professional and great with communication. She sent photos of the dogs during her visit which made me feel at ease knowing my dogs were being well cared for while I was away!”

“Christine is an amazing dog sitter! She was very patient and loving to our bernadoodle who is usually very anxious at first. Would definitely use her again! Thanks Christine!!”

“Sydney was so amazing with our cats! She made sure that they were well taken care of and got lots of love. We can't thank her enough for how well she took care of our cats!”

“Keith was very communicative (even when I wasn’t able to get back to him) and took great care of my cats while I was out of town! Would recommend him to anyone looking for a cat sitter.”

About: While I've grown up with dogs and cats, I also have professional pet sitting experience taking care of dogs with diabetes, blind cats, guinea pigs, and even a llama! Pets and their caretakers have trusted me so much, they have flown me to their new homes after moving out of state for further petsitting assignments. I give emotional connection and comfort to pets while they're missing their humans, even reading aloud to them, because I believe it is an integral part of the job. Currently, this is my primary work, so I will have time to spare to take care of your animals. I volunteer regularly at animal sanctuaries and other orgs to improve the lives of animals. I have typically been asked to spend the night with the pets in the client's home, and spend as much time with them as possible, but I can also make daily visits instead if necessary. If you prefer I make visits, keep in mind the distance it would take for me to get to your place, and consider allowing me to make fewer, longer visits instead of multiple brief ones throughout the day.
“Miss Tiffany immediately bonded with our fussy old cat, Leo. She understood what he wanted and delivered copious pets, snuggles and treats for 12 days. The photos were a testament to his happiness. We couldn’t be happier with her service and most definitely will request her again should the need arise.”

About: I’ve always loved animals and enjoy caring for them. I currently care for seven chickens, which has taught me responsibility, consistency, feeding, and paying close attention to their needs. I’ve also cared for my mom’s dog while she was away and helped care for my sister’s puppy. I have a flexible schedule right now and would love the opportunity to give your pets plenty of attention, playtime, and care. While I’m not quite ready to have a pet of my own, pet sitting feels like the perfect way for me to spend time with animals and provide them with the love and attention they deserve. I’m currently taking two classes on Monday and Wednesday mornings, each for about two hours. I also enjoy going to the gym and have a flexible schedule around my seven-year-old son’s school schedule. I’m usually up around 7 AM and have plenty of availability throughout the week. I’m happy to communicate with each pet parent and work together to find a schedule that works well for everyone. About: I’ve loved and lived with animals of all shapes, sizes, and colors (furry and scaly alike), for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I found a passion and love of caring for others through learning to care for our family pets (cats, dogs, frogs, lizards, fish, hamsters, bunnies, guinea pigs, pot belly pigs, ponies, etc) who were treated largely like members of the family rather than pets. When I was older I became the family, friends, and neighborhood go-to pet sitter because of my array of experience with domestic, exotic, and farm animals from newborn all the way through senior stages of life. My first official job in high school was working for PetsMart in their PetsHotel. As an adult, my family and I have our own furry, scaly, and aquatic family members that we love dearly. I currently work a flexible hybrid schedule so it would be very easy to add drop-in care and activity time to my day to day schedule. Overnight stays could be easily scheduled with advanced notice. It is not lost on me that clients trust me with their fur-kids and their homes. I take that responsibility to heart and will always have open lines of communication and respect. I’m honored to be able to care for your pets and will always treat them like family. I’m big on pictures and sending all sorts of updates as I am providing care while you are away at work or on vacation.
“Chelsea is amazing! We will definitely be re-booking with her! She is great with communication, asking any questions, and thorough in her visits and follow ups.”

About: Whether you're away for a day or an extended trip, I provide personalized care, fun playtime, and plenty of belly rubs for your furry family member. With a calm presence, flexible availability, and a true love for dogs of all breeds and sizes, I make sure your pup feels safe, loved, and right at home. Walks, cuddles, feeding, meds; I’ve got it covered! It’s just me and my two teenagers in the house - they are 17 and 19 and both have their own cars so I rarely see them! They’ve grown up around having a dog, and continually pressure me to have another one 😵💫 We had a bully breed mix, Celine Dion who sadly passed from old age in 2019. She had diabetes towards the end of her life, so I’m familiar with giving medication/shots if necessary. Since then we’ve regularly looked after our friends’ dogs until we fostered Simba in 2024 - we had him for 10 months until he was adopted. Because of having family in England, I want to be able to travel there frequently so am not ready to have a permanent dog again yet, but I LOVE having dogs come and stay with me when my calendar allows. I work from home so have flexibility in my routine and am always available for my visitors’ needs. I like to take a morning walk, and an evening one too. I’m not away from home often. I have a fully fenced yard and my neighborhood has beautiful walking trails, that I use whether I am walking a dog, or just walking alone. I’ve fostered rescue dogs and have experience of high anxiety dogs. I’m 6 feet tall and strong, and my last foster was great with people but not so much with other dogs we met on our walks, so I’m used to avoiding them, if necessary! I am happy to send photos to you whilst your dog is in my care, and will communicate with you as frequently as you would like.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Fern Prairie
WOW. I cannot stress enough how amazing Ashley was with our cats. We have never used Rover for our four cats before and weren’t sure what to expect. Generally cats don’t quite get the level of care that dogs do, they sleep a lot, they hide, you don’t really walk them. So to have Ashley come by twice a day and make sure our cats had food, clean water and litter pans but also make sure she put eyes on all four of them each time (even if they were hiding) meant the world to us! She sent multiple pictures a day which was amazing as we missed them terribly. She even sent pics of one of our cats (Navy Bean) paws which killed his because we are obsessed with her paws, lol. I would hire Ashley again and again :)

We loved having NIKKI care for our cats while we were away. She is so sweet, and very professional. I know immediately upon meeting her that she would do a great job. During our trip she checked in with us each day to give us a little update on our fur babies, including taking the time to send pictures. Both of our cats seems right at home with her... and snuggled in close for cuddles when she came over. Nikki followed our instructions to the letter. I definitely hope to work with her again sometime, and highly recommend her for your pet sitting needs!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Fern Prairie. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
