“Susana has an amazing calming and friendly demeanor which was perfect for our sketchy little nervous cat! Susana understood what that meant, and knew how to react to a cat who didn't want to be touched or messed with. She sat next to Freya for the visit without touching her and Freya didn't run away or hide from her, which says even more about Susana. Kind, understanding, and thoughtful - exactly who Freya needed while we were gone. Will definitely book again next time we're heading out of town. Thank you Susana!! We would give more stars if we could!”
“My boys did great with Madelyn and are so excited to have her back! 😄 She is super communicative and sweet and takes the time to get to know your fur babies and respects their personalities. She is wonderful!!!”

“Sammy was an amazing cat sitter and I can’t recommend her enough. She is incredibly kind and clearly has a natural way with animals. My cats are usually very shy and take a long time to warm up to new people, but they were comfortable with her almost immediately, which says a lot. She kept me updated while I was away and sent lots of photos, which gave me so much peace of mind. It was clear they were happy, relaxed, and well cared for. I would absolutely trust Sammy to watch my cats again in the future!”

“Ashley was such a wonderful help watching our four kitties! She kept us in the loop, made sure they were all taken care of, and gave them lots of love and attention. I’m definitely planning to have her come back to watch the kitties again! Plus, I really appreciated her bringing the package to our porch.”

“Miss Tiffany immediately bonded with our fussy old cat, Leo. She understood what he wanted and delivered copious pets, snuggles and treats for 12 days. The photos were a testament to his happiness. We couldn’t be happier with her service and most definitely will request her again should the need arise.”

“Jess was awesome with Izzi! My tiny hairless cat is a people person, and she instantly bonded with Jess. I loved getting photos and updates each day. I will definitely reach out to Jess again next time I travel.”

About: I’ve been taking care of dogs and cats since I was a kid. What started as a small childhood side hustle of going out of my way to care for other people's dogs has grown into a lifelong passion. I raised my own dog until he was 16, giving me deep, adaptable experience in senior pet care. I also volunteered at the Humane Society, working with animals of all sizes and breeds, especially the misunderstood ones! Whether we're going on a fast-paced walk, hanging out with a lazy Pug, or just cleaning the litterbox and chilling with your cat, I'm ready to treat your pets like my own. As a remote worker, my daily schedule is generally very flexible! I am open throughout the day, but I prefer to schedule most of my walks and drop-ins for anytime after 11 AM or 12 PM. Since I am also a student, my exact availability might shift a bit depending on my course load for the semester, but I will always keep my calendar updated and communicate clearly with you. Because I currently live in an apartment, I exclusively offer walks and drop-in visits at your home. Honestly, I believe that keeping pets in their familiar environment is the easiest and least stressful option for them. When visiting your home, I will be completely respectful of your space, ensure all doors or gates are securely closed, and keep your pets safe and happy in the environment they already know best.
About: I’ve taken care of mainly dogs for 7 years of all ages and sizes. I know how to take care of senior and young pets, whether it’s training them or giving them the right amount of medication at certain times, and if they need assistance going up/down stairs if they’re not able to. I’m currently looking for work and I am also thinking of going back to school, and I have a lot more free time now so I thought that I would put my time to use and help other people with their pets. I care for my parents older dogs (13 and 14 y/o) by making sure they are let outside whenever they need to, I take them on walks almost daily, I have also given them medication when they have needed it, adjusted their food diet and included wet food since they’re getting older, and I also take them to and from their vet/grooming appointments.
“Michaela recently met Vino and is working in a relationship with him. She is very kind, attentive to Vino’s needs and keeps communication open with us as parents. We can’t wait to continue partnering with her for Vino’s care.”

“Hands down Kristy should be your top choice if you’re looking for someone to take care of your furry family ❤️. Really clear and easy communication ahead of the visits. It’s clear she genuinely cares and spends time with our guys. Our cats are obsessed with her. One unexpected pro - high quality pictures of your pets!”

“Amazing pet sitter! Very attentive to details and communicating! She made sure that Bravo was well fed and taken care of! Would highly recommend to anyone needing their pets taken care of”

“First time user and it was easy to select Annemarie as she has stellar reviews! I am happy to add to those. 2.5 days she did everything we asked and more for our two dogs. Could not recommend more…”

“Brooklyn did a great job taking care of my kitty when I had to go out of town on short notice. She was wonderful to work with, her attention to detail and communication skills are top notch. My shy cat quickly warmed up to her after a few visits. This shows that Brooklyn is great with animals, as my pet is very selective about who she trusts. I look forward to booking with Brooklyn again and I would highly recommend her to others looking for a pet sitter.”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Ireland
This was our first time using Rover and meeting Brie. She came over the day before and we did a meet & greet and she was wonderful with our 4 kitties. We have one that's super shy and she even came out to meet Brie. I felt completely comfortable leaving them for the day and Brie doing a drop-in visit to feed them. She provided pictures and great communication. Will definitely use her services again.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 3,306 sitters on Rover offering Cat Sitting across Ireland. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Ireland. On Rover:
- 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
