“Anna did a fantastic job watching my Murphy girl. She made sure she got lots of exercise, a hike, and enrichment in. Anna arrived on time, and I came back to a tidy house and a happy dog!”

“Roree was absolutely wonderful! She took very good care of our sweet, energetic, pup. We were also very impressed with how well she took care of our home! We’ve had other sitters who left our apartment a mess. Roree treated our space with respect and took care of our pup. We love her and will definitely be booking her again when we have a need!”

“Janesia did a great job with our pup Charlie! She kept in touch with messages and pictures throughout the stay. Our house was clean when we arrived home and she even left us some homemade cupcakes. She was very professional, friendly, and attentive. We look forward to her pet sitting for us in the future!”

“We couldn't be happier with our experience with Paul Johnson. He is courteous, thorough, conscientious, and provided us with regular updates on how the pups were doing while we were away. We feel very comfortable with leaving Paul in the care of our doggos in the future.”

“Tiffany was AMAZING with Ava. She stayed with Ava over at our house for a couple of nights and we were confident with the care she was providing for her. We appreciated her updating us with daily photos on walks+naps and everything else in between. Thank you for everything. Our girl loved you! :)”

“Anthea is very deserving to be your petsitter, especially if you want a person who will be very respectful of your home and who will be very loving and kind in caring for your pets. She sincerely loves both cats and dogs and will treat them as if they are her own. And, that is exactly the type of person you want in order for you to enjoy a well-deserved vacation.”

“Madelyn took excellent care of our home and dog, including managing a few medications/eye drops. She was very responsive & flexible and left everything in impeccable condition. Would trust her with looking after our home and pup again for sure!”

“Momo is amazing! She took such great care of Anouk and Klaus— treating them to long walks and lots of attention. Staying on a routine is the best things for my pups, and Momo honored that and more! She’s also a great communicator which gave us extra peace of mind while we were both traveling. I HIGHLY recommend Momo!”

“Lyla did an incredible job! She gave me updates and was flexible with my crazy schedule. Overall she brought a lot of peace while I was out of town. Just knowing that my dog was so well taken care of. Thank you Lyla!”

“Katherine is a great dog/housesitter. My 5 month old puppy is high energy and unfortunately still teething right now ( he starts professional training this week!) Despite this, she made sure he was well cared for and well exercised. I returned to a happy dog and clean house. Thanks Katherine!”

“I couldn't be happier with my experience! Shani was incredibly reliable, responsive, and treated my pets like their own. I got regular updates and photos, which gave me total peace of mind. Best photos we have received before!”

“Breauna was amazing with our dog Joey! He has some anxiety especially when he's separated from us but she did a great job of taking care of him and making him feel secure. She exceeded expectations by taking him on walks that were not necessary and sending us lots of pictures and updates! She was also very respectful of our home and we came back to the place just as neat as we had left it. Very kind and amazing vibes, well definitely be using her again!! Thank you so much!!!”

“Michaela, unfortunately, had to deal with a broken nail on one of our dogs that happened the night before our trip, and she handled it extremely well - she kept us informed and took the right precautions to let it heal. Our house was spotless and pups were relaxed and clearly cared for upon our arrival. Michaela’s communication was honestly perfect for us. She sent a picture and a message, daily, and it was plenty (sometimes it can be a bit too much from sitters). We’d definitely let Michaela care for our pups and home again :)”

“We count ourselves so fortunate to have found Amy to care for our pets and our home. Amy went far beyond our expectations: walking the dogs, car rides, treats, etc. And our anti-social cat warmed up to her too! When we drove away from the house we knew we had nothing to worry about. There is no doubt we will ask Amy to help us again and again. She made it all too easy. Thank you, Amy!!!”

“Erin helped us out in a pinch that required some extra communication and a handoff. She was professional, communicative and helpful, and we were confident that the pets were well cared for. We wouldn’t hesitate to use her services again!”

About: Hi! I’m a lifelong animal lover who works from home with a relatively flexible schedule, which allows me to give your pets plenty of time and attention. We don’t currently have a dog of our own, which gives us the freedom to travel occasionally and makes it easy for me to focus fully on caring for your pets. I grew up with all kinds of animals and have over 10 years of experience caring for dogs of all sizes and personalities, including high-energy pups. I’ve cared for pets for friends and through Rover, and I’m comfortable reinforcing good leash manners and adjusting care to match each pet’s needs. At home, I have two barn cats who came to us feral and are now happy lap cats. That experience has taught me a lot about patience, trust-building, and caring for pets who may be shy or slow to warm up. I’m happy to care for dogs, cats, and other small critters, and I treat every pet like my own with thoughtful, attentive care. I’d love to connect and see if I’m a great fit for you and your pets! I’m self-employed and work from home, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to build pet care naturally into my day. I’m happy to accommodate morning, midday, or evening visits. I prioritize consistency, trust, and a sage environment when caring for pets. I follow routines closely, watch body language, secure doors and leashes, and provide calm, attentive care.
“Shane was awesome. We felt very comfortable after meeting him that he would do a good job taking care of our dogs. He even took out our garbage and recycling cans for pickup and brought in the mail. Thanks Shane!!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Ireland
There is no way to accurately describe how amazing Susana was with our dogs! From moments into the "meet & greet", through the moment she left, I had 100% peace about leaving our dogs in her care. One of our girls deals with fear/anxiety with new people. She took to Susana in the meet & greet like I've never seen! Susana communicated every day with updates & photos, and throughout the whole process she responded quickly when I would reach out to her. Her experience shows! She easily grasped all the complexities of our dogs feeding needs (each are different) and the medications that needed to be done at certain times. She even sent a photo of our scaredy-dog licking her! Our home was left in such good condition that you'd never know someone had stayed there. I can't recommend Susana enough! Thank you for not only calming the anxiety of our dogs, but the anxiety of this human!

FAQs for House Sitting - Ireland
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 4,355 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Ireland. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Ireland walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Ireland maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Ireland choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Ireland. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
