“Susanna was great. She was considerate of my dog, family and home. Her care allowed me to focus on my work away from home. Dasher welcomed me with ease upon my return which to me means he was not frantic with anxiety while I was away. Peace of mind for me and my boop.”

“Jill does a wonderful job with our fur baby. This was our first time leaving him with a sitter and Jill made it easier. Scheduling FaceTime calls and frequent updates. Our pup enjoyed Jill’s company and her attention. He found a new buddy and we found a great sitter.”

“Anna did a fantastic job watching my Murphy girl. She made sure she got lots of exercise, a hike, and enrichment in. Anna arrived on time, and I came back to a tidy house and a happy dog!”

“Breauna was amazing with our dog Joey! He has some anxiety especially when he's separated from us but she did a great job of taking care of him and making him feel secure. She exceeded expectations by taking him on walks that were not necessary and sending us lots of pictures and updates! She was also very respectful of our home and we came back to the place just as neat as we had left it. Very kind and amazing vibes, well definitely be using her again!! Thank you so much!!!”

“Madeline is a dream come true. Sent updates on the cats, gave meds, and best of all, we left confident she could handle anything that came up. She communicates well, and we came home to house with no issues.”

“Katherine is a great dog/housesitter. My 5 month old puppy is high energy and unfortunately still teething right now ( he starts professional training this week!) Despite this, she made sure he was well cared for and well exercised. I returned to a happy dog and clean house. Thanks Katherine!”

About: I am a huge animal lover! I grew up with a dog and cats and I petsit for family, so I have experience with bathing, feeding, walking, brushing, and general care. I'm experienced at handing emergency and critical pet care response including taking pets to emergency or urgent care, administering medicine, cleaning puke/urine, and end of life care. I'm very patient with animals. My schedule is currently very open, so I will have plenty of time to play with and care for your pets while you are away! I am a very attentive pet caretaker and will ensure their needs are met! I have been told I'm very responsible and good with animals. I love playing with dogs and cats and keeping them happy and well-exercised.
“Madelyn did a great job with my timid puppy. She recognized that Libby didn't need to be touched and just talked to her and gave her attention for afar. The perfect response. Madelyn also responded to my emails and text quickly. She sent me pictures of Libby daily. I would highly recommend her.”

“Erin was awesome and took great care of our dogs. Did a great job walking a large pit bull and stubborn bull dog. Gave us regular updates. 10/10 would recommend.”

“Anthea was great!! She was very reliable and loving with our 2 doggies. She took them on walks everyday, and took them to the local dog park to play with other dogs. One of our dogs needs medication 3 times a day, she had no problem administering those. Every night she sent updates and pictures! The house was clean when we got home. She picked up the poop, took garbage out and brought in the mail. I would highly recommend Anthea to stay at your home and watch your pets.”

“Roree was amazing! We have an epileptic dog who needs meds twice a day at specific times. Roree was on top of everything! She was with him almost 24/7 and gave him the best of care! She sent lots of photos daily and kept us up to date. Roree also took care of our house and everything was perfect when we returned. Highly recommended!!!”

“Isabella was the best sitter we have ever had! She was super responsive and communicative, extremely respectful of our home, amazing with our animals, incredibly friendly, and sent us so many sweet videos and pictures of our cat! We would/will book her again in a heartbeat!”

“Tiffany was timely, thorough, invested, and approachable. She made sure she was available to be with our dogs for the entire stay, which is very important as they need a lot of human presence. Our dogs connected with her immediately, she had them playing with her within moments of her meeting them. Tiffany took a ton of photos, and we could easily see that the dogs were safe and happy all throughout our trip. We highly recommend Tiffany.”

“Skylar was so amazing! She kept our kitty happy and entertained. Our kitty doesn’t get to meet very many people so he can be a little scared but he immediately liked Skylar. We will definitely rebook her in the future.”

About: Growing up my immediate family had a preference for feline pets, but my grandparents always had dogs! From Dalmatians to Pomeranians, I've been around doggos my whole life. I'm currently disabled due to my autoimmune diseases and congestive heart failure. Dog walking and playing will help keep me active while not being over exhaustive. I enjoy the therapy that comes with spending time with animals as well. While I don't offer dog sitting in my own place of residence I'm more than happy to drive to yours and care for your pup as long as is required. I am knowledgeable on basic commands as well as how to approach pups that might not be so keen on strangers.
“Karen was an incredible dogsitter and we feel luck to have found her! She was communicative, great with our high-energy dog and took good care of our home. We look forward to Karen dogsitting in the future and highly recommend her!”

We received texts and pictures multiple times a day and knew they were well cared for and loved. It was such a comfort knowing our special needs lady was getting exactly what she needed and even some extra loving care!”

Kristy was stellar! She gave my dog and elderly kitty the sweetest TLC and sent amazing photo and video updates. She was in regular communication throughout the weekend and even washed the sheets and towels before leaving. I'm so glad I found her! I'd ask her back in a heartbeat!

Amanda, Sav and Daisy were incredible companions for our dog, Waffles. They all made sure Waffles was spoiled, giving her lots of exercise, treats and cuddles. Our house was very clean and taken care of. Amanda was very communicative and accommodating. I would certainly recommend!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Washougal walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Washougal maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Washougal choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Washougal. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
