This is my first time using Rover and we were looking for an overnight sitter for mainly my little Genee girl who has never not had family around her. Anika filled that gap for us and did an amazing job. She put up with all my messages and provided pictures of Genee on walks and playing. She even included pics of the cat lounging around as usual. I was worried about leaving Genee for the first time but Anika made it much easier for me! I would highly recommend her and I will be calling upon her again when we need a sitter!

Our original housesitting plans fell through at the last minute and we were leaving for the airport in a couple hours. Tiffiny was quick to respond and come meet our puppy. She was very flexible and took excellent care of our pup and our house, greatly relieving our stress and anxiety. Levi loved playing with Tiffiny and her daughter! We highly recommend her and will definitely use her services again.

Isabella is absolutely the best pet sitter we’ve ever had! Not only did she take amazing care of our pets, but she also cleaned our house while pet sitting. Her communication was great and she took the cutest, silliest pictures of our pets. She also had experience with lizards, which was a huge bonus. We had a couple of last minute changes too, and she was able to accommodate us with no problem. We’ll definitely use her again and recommend her to anyone looking for a great pet sitter!

Momo is amazing! She took such great care of Anouk and Klaus— treating them to long walks and lots of attention. Staying on a routine is the best things for my pups, and Momo honored that and more! She’s also a great communicator which gave us extra peace of mind while we were both traveling. I HIGHLY recommend Momo!

About: I've been surrounded by animals from before I was born. I grew up on a farm on Kauai, Hawaii. I worked as a veterinary assistant for nearly 10 years, volunteered with Guide Dogs for the Blind as a foster home, and I am always helping my friends and family with pet sitting and minor grooming(nail trims and baths). I'm starting this as a part-time job because it fits my schedule. I'm usually available for dog walking Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7:30am and 3:30pm. I am currently petless. Our beloved kitty(15 years old) passed last year and our family is not ready for another pet at the moment. I am happy to come to your house to take your dog for a walk in a neighborhood they are comfortable with, I often walk at Powell Butte, around my own neighborhood, and Salish ponds in Gresham. I'm happy to discuss other walks with you and anything else you'd like to know.

Melinda took excellent care of our pets and home. She was communicative, dependable, and very accommodating when our plans unexpectedly changed. She even gave our cat, Tiger, her inhaler without any issues—something we were a bit nervous about, but she handled it with ease. We felt completely confident leaving everything in her hands. We'd absolutely work with her again.

About: Hello! I’ve been around dogs my whole life and and excited to get to know yours and help out this summertime! For almost 15 years, I helped raise and take care of my family dog, Dakota. She was terrier mix who loved to play and eat like there’s no tomorrow! A few years after she passed, my sister adopted a puppy, and being a dog aunt has healed my heart once again! I love seeing dogs grow into their own personalities and learn from real world experiences. I feel that helping raise puppies, and continuing to care for them as they age gives me first hand insight on how dogs should be treated for best results: with patience, attention, and compassion. I feel confident giving commands and helping with basic training to puppies and actives, while also being more than happy to sit and chill with others :) Starting in June, I will be off for summer break from my job and will be available almost every day. I have pretty open availability on the weekends and am flexible to change things up. I’m looking forward to having a bit of a mixed schedule and taking things as they go. When sitting in a clients home, I think it’s important to make sure your fur baby feels comfortable since it is their space after all! I will do everything I can to help, whether it’s trying to play or get outside for a walk, but if it’s simply not happening and your pup is feeling nervous about someone they’re unfamiliar with in their home, then I will never push a boundary.

About: I grew up on property where people would dump their cats, so I have helped raise bottle babies, seniors and momma cats. I also grew up with 2 dogs, taking care of them with my mom. I currently have 4 cats of my own and help care for my grandmas dog Romeo who you see in one of my pictures. I do not have veterinary licensing or certifications, but I have years of real life experience and promise your animal(s) will be well cared for and loved while you’re away. I am unavailable from 8-5 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. I am always willing to come before and after for drop ins, and am available for overnight stays every day of the week except Sunday & Monday nights. I am comfortable crating, feeding, cleaning up after & doing basically anything a pet owner needs to do for their animal. I will respect your home and your wishes with your pet and be sure to maintain a calm, caring environment for your pet to feel safe in.

About: While I've grown up with dogs and cats, I also have professional pet sitting experience taking care of dogs with diabetes, blind cats, guinea pigs, and even a llama! Pets and their caretakers have trusted me so much, they have flown me to their new homes after moving out of state for further petsitting assignments. I give emotional connection and comfort to pets while they're missing their humans, even reading aloud to them, because I believe it is an integral part of the job. Currently, this is my primary work, so I will have time to spare to take care of your animals. I volunteer regularly at animal sanctuaries and other orgs to improve the lives of animals. I have typically been asked to spend the night with the pets in the client's home, and spend as much time with them as possible, but I can also make daily visits instead if necessary. If you prefer I make visits, keep in mind the distance it would take for me to get to your place, and consider allowing me to make fewer, longer visits instead of multiple brief ones throughout the day.

About: I’ve been around dogs and cats my whole life and truly love caring for them. I’ve trained dogs in basic skills, cared for puppies 24/7, and have hands-on experience with cats, including feeding, litter care, playtime, and creating calm, safe spaces. I enjoy walks, cuddles, and building trust with every pet, making sure they feel happy, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I currently do dog and cat sitting full-time and truly love being around animals. I enjoy taking dogs on walks, playing with toys, giving treats, cuddling, bathing, and making sure they feel comfortable, safe, and loved while their owners are away. Caring for pets fits very naturally into my daily routine, and I always make sure each pet gets plenty of attention, care, and affection. I prioritize safety, trust, and a comfortable environment. Sterling was an excellent sitter. He took care of our cats, dogs, horses, and aquarium while we were away over the Thanksgiving holiday. He sent us pictures and updates of our pets and was great with our four month old puppy who is a handful and still in house training mode. Our Great Dane is on allergy and heart medication and Sterling handled that too. He wasn’t afraid to ask questions if he needed information. She was very accommodating with offering transportation to the airport so we could save costs on Uber while traveling. Very helpful and considerate and left my home cleaner than she found it. Definitely recommend her services as they go above and beyond even the description she provides. FAQs for House Sitting - Wood Village

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Wood Village on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 4,479 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Wood Village. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Wood Village walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Wood Village maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Wood Village choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Wood Village. On Rover:

  • 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
