Anthony is an angel! He stayed at our home with our two very large Irish Wolfhound puppies and elderly cat. I know they were a handful. Anthony is a wonderful communicator and sent pictures daily showing they were all doing well. It was very difficult for us to leave our babies, but Anthony made it so much easier. We will definitely call on him in the future. We love you Anthony!!!

Melinda did a wonderful job caring for my two dogs and cat over the weekend. My very energetic dog got a lot of play time, and my shy dog was given lots of love. I felt very confident that they were all being well cared for while I was away.

This is my first time using Rover and we were looking for an overnight sitter for mainly my little Genee girl who has never not had family around her. Anika filled that gap for us and did an amazing job. She put up with all my messages and provided pictures of Genee on walks and playing. She even included pics of the cat lounging around as usual. I was worried about leaving Genee for the first time but Anika made it much easier for me! I would highly recommend her and I will be calling upon her again when we need a sitter!

Our original housesitting plans fell through at the last minute and we were leaving for the airport in a couple hours. Tiffiny was quick to respond and come meet our puppy. She was very flexible and took excellent care of our pup and our house, greatly relieving our stress and anxiety. Levi loved playing with Tiffiny and her daughter! We highly recommend her and will definitely use her services again.

Katherine did another excellent job house sitting with our pup. This was during a time when in our neighborhood there were unfortunately still illegal fireworks being set off almost every night. My dog is extremely anxious around fireworks and Katherine helped to comfort her each time by trying different methods. She sent me an update on how things were going each day. She also kept the house looking as clean or cleaner than it was when we left. Thank you Katherine!

I don’t even know where to begin. My husband and I rarely go on trips together. We have three dogs, they are all different ages with different care levels, and finding someone to care for them has always been challenging. Our family planned to go on an Alaskan cruise, and we decided to join them. We reached out to Karen and she was SO responsive. She got back to us quickly and agreed to do a meet and greet. Our dogs LOVED her immediately. We have a 6 year old street dog whom we rescued from Mexico. He is very sweet but is slow to warm up to people. Within a few minutes of Karen being at the house he was begging her for pets. It was decided right then that Karen would be watching our fur babies. Fast forward a few weeks and we are all lined up and ready to go on our trip. We’ve done a pack walk with Karen and have walked her through their daily needs. Karen is very thorough and wants as much information about your pets as she can get. To make sure everyone was good to go, my husband and I took our senior dog to the vet to get her arthritis shot. We wanted to make sure she would be comfortable while we were gone. At the vet appointment, we got heartbreaking news. Our veterinarian had a difficult and honest conversation with us about our dog’s health and quality of life. Our senior was 19 years old and had started experiencing some cogitative decline and mobility issues. After several long discussions and uncertainty about our pup’s health while we would be gone, we decided it was time to allow our sweet baby to cross the rainbow bridge. We were devastated and, as you could imagine, were experiencing some anxiety and uncertainty about leaving the other two dogs. When we explained to Karen what happened, she provided so much comfort and security. She let us know that there wasn’t any pressure to go on the trip and assured us that if we did, she would make sure our dogs were well loved on. We ended up going to Alaska. During our trip, Karen sent us photos and videos, and made sure to give us daily updates. If we request additional photos or videos, she always sent them no questions asked. She went out of her way to make us feel at ease, and it really helped give us the space and peace of mind to process everything that happened. Having Karen care for our fur babies not only allowed us to go on a family trip, it’s also allowed us to grieve our loss without having to carry the stress of the day-to-day and making sure the other dogs were taken care of. It goes without saying, but we will definitely book with Karen again. If you’re considering hiring Karen for your pets, I highly recommend it. You will be a so happy you did. Thank you Karen. We truly appreciate you, and the love and care you extend to Doodle and Wendi while we were gone.

Isabella is absolutely the best pet sitter we’ve ever had! Not only did she take amazing care of our pets, but she also cleaned our house while pet sitting. Her communication was great and she took the cutest, silliest pictures of our pets. She also had experience with lizards, which was a huge bonus. We had a couple of last minute changes too, and she was able to accommodate us with no problem. We’ll definitely use her again and recommend her to anyone looking for a great pet sitter!

This was a huge step for me to trust someone with not only my guys but my home. Jenn understood my concerns and made a special trip down for a meet and greet. She sent multiple updates during the day and her pictures showed how relaxed Brady was with her. She left the house spotless, and I had a very happy dog when I got home. About: I’ve loved dogs for as long as I can remember. I’ve had family dogs growing up and had a dog of my own in my early twenties, so caring for them has always been a part of my life. Around 2020, friends and coworkers started asking me to house sit while they traveled, and that’s when I realized how much I genuinely enjoy caring for other people’s homes and especially thier pets. Since then, I’ve cared for dogs of all sizes and personalities... from tiny Chihuahuas and miniature Poodles to Huskies, Pit Bulls, and Dobermans. I’ve also spent some time with cats, hamsters, bunnies, and lizards. Unfortunately I have retired for caring for cats due to allergies. I know that every dog is different. Some want to play nonstop, some love long walks, and others just want someone cuddles. I enjoy getting to know each dog’s personality and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their family is away. I’ve even helped reinforce basic training, taught a few fun tricks, and worked on some very simple behavioral habits when owners have appreciated. I believe consistency, patience, and positive reinforcement go a long way. When your dog is with me, they’ll be treated like my own. My goal is to give you peace of mind, knowing your best friend is getting plenty of attention, exercise, affection, care until you’re back home. I’m currently a surgical technology student, and my classes are scheduled in the mornings, which means I’m available most afternoons and evenings for walks, drop-in visits, house sitting, and quality time with your pets. Trusting someone with your animal is a huge deal. I am big on personal integrity and respect. I know every pet is different, so I like to stick as closely as possible to the routine they’re already used to. Whether that means long walks, playtime in the yard, keeping up with feeding schedules, or just hanging out on the couch together, I’m happy to do whatever helps them feel comfortable while you’re away. Safety is always my biggest priority. I’m especially careful on walks, pay attention to each dog’s personality and body language. This means, my phone is away… unless I sneak a really cute picture of your pup. I also know how important it is to trust the person staying in your home, so I’ll treat your space with respect and leave it just the way I found it. I’ll also send plenty of updates and photos because I know I’d want the same if someone was watching my dog. My goal is for you to enjoy your time away worry free.

Judas did an amazing job with our dogs! One of them got sick right before we left, and Judas was willing to provide the extra care he needed and he did so very lovingly. He handled extra medications and the quirks of our dogs so well, and won over the heart of our shy, anxious boy. He was a great communicator as well! Can’t recommend Judas enough, we knew our boys were in great hands which is always such a relief.

Karen's communication was excellent from the first contact all the way through the end of the visit. She problem solved when I dropped the ball on clarifying my wifi info and was a wonderful comfort for my cats. Karen really went above and beyond when she discovered mice had gotten into my cat food. FAQs for House Sitting - Fairview

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Fairview on Rover is $44.4 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 4,449 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Fairview. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Fairview walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Fairview maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Fairview choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Fairview. On Rover:

  • 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
