About: I've had pets since I was a kid, cats and dogs, so I've taken care of them as kittens and puppies, and in old age, administering medication, giving them injections, putting medicine in their food, drops in their ears, feeding them and giving them water as well as treats, baths, taking them for walks, bringing them to the vet and playing with them. I also have about 10 years of experience with other people's pets as a house-sitter and dropping in them to play with them and walk them. I have 3 cats of my own, so I do take care of them daily, but I am free Monday-Sunday as a house-sitter and drop-in. About: I'm a mom to two cats, Schneider and Stormy, and I'm just as at home with dogs. I've cared for pups of all sizes and energy levels, from leash-pullers to couch potatoes. I work freelance, so my schedule is flexible and I'm never rushing out the door. Beyond the basics (food, water, walks, meds exactly as you like them), I always set aside time to just play with your pet. Every furry cuties I get to meet feels like a little stroke of luck, and I want them to have a genuinely fun time with me. I'm also into journaling and photography. I'm a bit obsessed with catching cute pet moments on camera, so fair warning: you might get a LOT of photos. Hope you don't mind! 😉 I work freelance, so my schedule is pretty flexible on both weekdays and weekends. I'm not squeezing your pet in between other commitments, so I can show up on time, stay a bit longer, and actually hang out instead of rushing off. Just let me know what works for you! Currently I only do drop-in visits, so your pet gets to stay in their own comfy space. I'll follow your routine, and after each visit I'll log what I did and how your pet was doing: meals, potty, playtime, and their energy level. Safety-wise, doors stay locked, windows and gates get double-checked, and leashes are always on for walks. I'll keep your vet and emergency contacts handy, and if anything seems off, you'll hear from me right away.

About: I may be new to Rover, but I'm not new to working with dogs. My life revolves around dogs and has for many, many years. I run my own pet services business, Hounds of Love PDX, and bring a lifetime of experience in all areas including rescue, handling, walking, daycare, sitting, fostering, transporting and volunteering with local rescue organizations, as well as for Oregon Dog Rescue and Dove Lewis. I'm a sighthound, small dog and senior advocate, and work with dogs of all sizes. I’ve always had an affinity for sighthounds(Greyhounds, Italian Greyhounds, etc), and understand their unique and sensitive nature well. I always put dogs first in every aspect of life, and feel they’re all part of my extended pack, and treat every dog as such. Safety is absolutely the top priority for me when working with pets. I always carry a well-stocked pet first aid kit in my vehicle, as well as water, bowls, treats, blankets and travel crates so as to always be as prepared. About: I currently work full time at a dog boarding facility where I feed, walk, and administer medications to 20+ dogs and cats. I am comfortable with all breeds, knowledgeable about body language and able to administer medications. Working full time at dog boarding facility but can take care of your pets too on my days off. Other days of the week I am only available between 1p-2p and anytime after 7p Always assuring the home is locked before leaving and making sure pets are fully attended to whether that’s litter boxes, grooming, feeding, walking or medicine.

In my early adulthood, pet care naturally became part of my life. What started as sitting for friends and family quickly grew through word of mouth into caring for coworkers’ pets, then friends of friends, and beyond. Over the years, I’ve worked with a wide range of dogs—seniors who prefer a slower pace, young and energetic pups, as well as shy, anxious, and special needs dogs who require a more patient, thoughtful approach. A few years ago, I had the joy of being a regular dog walker for a sweet pup named Opal for about two years. Our walks became the highlight of her day—and honestly, mine too. That experience showed me just how meaningful consistency and trust can be for a dog. About a year ago, I rescued my own dog, Layla—a wonderfully sensitive “mega mutt” with a shy heart and a complicated past. She doesn’t give her trust easily, which has taught me so much about patience, reading subtle body language, and creating a sense of safety through consistency and compassion. Helping Layla learn to feel secure and confident in the world has deepened my commitment to supporting other dogs who may feel overwhelmed, unsure, or simply a little different. I have a special place in my heart for sensitive, quirky, and “not for everyone” dogs. I strive to create a calm, safe space where they can be themselves—whether that means a slow, sniff-filled walk, extra reassurance, or just being understood without pressure. I’ve taken care of all kinds of pets, from reactive dogs, skittish cats, to small rodents, I love them all and adjust my skills to meet each pet’s individual needs. I’ve worked with big hyper dogs that need a lot of attention and play, as well as old grumpy dogs that need a lot of patience and care. I love cats, I own one myself, and I always enter a space seeking to earn the cat’s trust and respect. I’ve owned and looked after guinea pigs and hamsters as well so I’m good at maintaining cages. I’m excellent in exercising pets, preparing food, cleaning up after them, offering the pet companionship with owners are away, and overall making sure they feel loved and cared for. I look forward to meeting your sweet animals and hopefully becoming someone you trust to care for them. I’m currently working at a coffee shop, just part time right now but hoping to eventually work more full time. I have a lot of availability during the week, as weekends is when I usually work longer shifts. I always respect the animals space, especially when in a clients home but if they’re staying with me I always like to bring things from their home to add a sense of familiarity.
