Shiloh also was kind enough to accommodate a last minute scheduling change for my booked dates. Shiloh kept my apartment in great condition and it was exactly as I left it when I got home. About: I’ve been surrounded by animals for as long as I can remember—growing up in a home full of cats and two German Shepherds who made sure I understood, early on, that every animal has their own personality, boundaries, and quirks. In my early adulthood, pet care naturally became part of my life. What started as sitting for friends and family quickly grew through word of mouth into caring for coworkers’ pets, then friends of friends, and beyond. Over the years, I’ve worked with a wide range of dogs—seniors who prefer a slower pace, young and energetic pups, as well as shy, anxious, and special needs dogs who require a more patient, thoughtful approach. A few years ago, I had the joy of being a regular dog walker for a sweet pup named Opal for about two years. Our walks became the highlight of her day—and honestly, mine too. That experience showed me just how meaningful consistency and trust can be for a dog. About a year ago, I rescued my own dog, Layla—a wonderfully sensitive “mega mutt” with a shy heart and a complicated past. She doesn’t give her trust easily, which has taught me so much about patience, reading subtle body language, and creating a sense of safety through consistency and compassion. Helping Layla learn to feel secure and confident in the world has deepened my commitment to supporting other dogs who may feel overwhelmed, unsure, or simply a little different. I have a special place in my heart for sensitive, quirky, and “not for everyone” dogs. I strive to create a calm, safe space where they can be themselves—whether that means a slow, sniff-filled walk, extra reassurance, or just being understood without pressure. My experience has taught me how to read and respond to each dog’s unique needs, so they can feel comfortable, respected, and maybe even have a little fun along the way. Every dog deserves care that meets them where they are—and I’m here for the weird, wonderful ones especially. I have recently relocated to the Portland area and currently have open availability, which allows me to be flexible with scheduling and responsive to client needs throughout the week. Pet care is something I intentionally structure my days around, rather than fitting in around other commitments. I prefer to keep a consistent routine that allows me to be punctual, reliable, and fully present with each animal I care for. This flexibility also means I can accommodate a variety of walk times, check-ins, and last-minute adjustments when needed. As I build my client base, I’m focusing on maintaining a balanced schedule that prioritizes quality care over quantity, ensuring each pet gets my full attention, patience, and energy during our time together. Although I’m not able to offer pet sitting in my own home at this time, I’m happy to care for your pet in the comfort and familiarity of their own space. I treat every client’s home with the same respect and care I would expect for my own—keeping things clean, secure, and exactly as you left them. My approach is rooted in safety, trust, and attentiveness. I take time to understand each pet’s routine, boundaries, and personality so I can provide care that feels consistent and stress-free. This is especially important for shy, anxious, or special needs dogs who rely on predictability to feel safe. During visits and walks, I stay highly aware of my surroundings and your dog’s body language, making thoughtful decisions to keep them comfortable—whether that means avoiding overstimulating situations, choosing quieter routes, or simply slowing things down for a sniff-filled decompression walk. I always use secure leashing practices and follow any specific instructions you provide closely. You can expect clear, consistent communication from me, including updates and photos so you know your pet is safe, cared for, and in good hands. My goal is to create an environment where your pet feels at ease and understood—and where you feel confident knowing they’re being cared for with patience, respect, and genuine attention.
