“Jill was very understanding of my fearful dog, he needs very slow introductions to new people. She was patient and gave him all the space he needed. So grateful that we found Jill to pet sit for our two dogs, and 4 goats!”

“Emery was fantastic. She was extremely prompt and so good with Buddy. She made sure she understood Buddy’s needs and asked questions to be sure out pooch got exactly what he needed while we were away. The report cards supplied by Emery were thorough and always included a pic of Buddy having a great time. We HIGHLY recommend Emery as a caring provider and will look to utilize her again!”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. Skylar treated Miss Kitty like she was her own, and her updates made us feel completely at ease while we were traveling. She was punctual, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure our cat was comfortable and well cared for. Coming home to a happy cat is the best review we can give. About: I have been pet sitting around my neighborhood for years and am very trust worthy! I am starting nursing school and would love to make extra money on the side by loving and taking care of animals while studying for my bachelors!! I am currently about to be starting nursing school and will be living at home and studying. I can drive wherever to pet sit, walk dogs, or be there to cuddle your fur babies!! I have two dogs in my family, an eight year old Rottweiler, and a six month old puppy mix!! I have watched both younger dogs, senior pups, and cats!!
“Jessica took excellent care of the fellas once again! Even when the front door lock failed Jessica made sure to not leave without that door secured. Thank you again!”

About: While I've grown up with dogs and cats, I also have professional pet sitting experience taking care of dogs with diabetes, blind cats, guinea pigs, and even a llama! Pets and their caretakers have trusted me so much, they have flown me to their new homes after moving out of state for further petsitting assignments. I give emotional connection and comfort to pets while they're missing their humans, even reading aloud to them, because I believe it is an integral part of the job. Currently, this is my primary work, so I will have time to spare to take care of your animals. I volunteer regularly at animal sanctuaries and other orgs to improve the lives of animals. I have typically been asked to spend the night with the pets in the client's home, and spend as much time with them as possible, but I can also make daily visits instead if necessary. If you prefer I make visits, keep in mind the distance it would take for me to get to your place, and consider allowing me to make fewer, longer visits instead of multiple brief ones throughout the day.
About: Hi! My name is Kourtney , I’m trying something new! I have yrs of experience with working with the elderly and kids… but I would really love to just take that caring side and just love on animals. I have always had cats ( be nice you dog loving people) U till 9 yrs ago … I rescued a Beautiful Pitty from Washougal’s Animal Shelter. Her name was Dixie.. I quickly learned a whole new meaning of love and loyalty. Hands down the best dog ever!! Last yr at the age of 14” roughly) I had to say goodbye to my sweet girl . She left behind a 2 yr old Brother “Ammo” a Husky/malamute. And 2 months ago we welcomed a Pitty Puppy to the fam . I have a large fenced back yard 6ft high . Ma covered deck and a back room with couch , tv and radio for puppy friends… I currently am a full time Nanny , so will be starting out part time .. Fri-Sun .. if it all works out, I will be transitioning to pet care full time . Your fur baby will have 2 friends, off the bat. Safe to go outside and in as little or as often as they want . Would just need to know if there is food aggression, as I would separate at feeding time :)
“Madelyn has taken care of our Buddy a couple of times and I can’t recommend her enough. She is highly attentive and super detail-oriented when it comes to ensuring he gets equal (and better!) treatment in our absence. Madelyn was able to build quick rapport with Buddy and we have never felt less than confident he’s getting the best care while we are away.”

“We had a trip plan and a family member was supposed to take care of our special needs pup and it didn’t work out. Kandice came to the rescue! So kind, helpful and just amazing. The true indication that a person is good is how your dog reacts. Our dog is very hyper at times and loves to see everybody, but when she first walked in the door, he was happy to see her and then lay down right next to her in such a calm manner that I’ve never seen him do that with anyone besides us, Instant comfort. We will be returning customers thank you so much, Kandice!”

“My kitties loved Mary! She was very communicative with me during the ice storm that hit the city, making sure I knew when she was able to visit and spending more time with them when she could. The house looked great and cats were happy when we came home!”

We loved having NIKKI care for our cats while we were away. She is so sweet, and very professional. I know immediately upon meeting her that she would do a great job. During our trip she checked in with us each day to give us a little update on our fur babies, including taking the time to send pictures. Both of our cats seems right at home with her... and snuggled in close for cuddles when she came over. Nikki followed our instructions to the letter. I definitely hope to work with her again sometime, and highly recommend her for your pet sitting needs!

I highly recommend Carter! They took excellent care of my cat, while I was away. From our initial meeting, it was clear they genuinely love animals. They provided regular updates and adorable photos. Carter went above and beyond in ensuring everything was perfect. I will definitely book them again for my next trip!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
