“Jean was very kind and helpful. I was nervous leaving my puppy for the first time (I spent a long time making a decision and even visited other homes), but I felt comfortable leaving him there and I think he had lots of one on one time and was not alone very much. She seemed to really enjoy her time with my puppy (who is a bit of a handful despite his size). She checked in with photos every day. They went for lots of walks and play time and he seemed very well cared for overall. She even dropped him off for me as I was getting in on a late flight. She is obviously a loving, fun person and enjoys dogs a lot. I would recommend her to other dog owners. Thanks Jean!!”

“Did a fantastic job of taking care of our Husky, keeping us updated everyday, sending pictures and videos. Would absolutely recommend for anyone that is looking for someone to love their pups while they’re away.”

“Diana took great care of our dog Sadie. She walked her to the park and sent us pics through out the day. There were other dogs to play with, which Sadie loved. I'll use Diana again!”

“Sandy did an outstanding job of caring for our dog Cody. We were gone for two weeks, and we had good communication from Sandy numerous times throughout our vacation as well as receiving several pictures. It's really nice to be able to leave your pet with someone like Sandy that gives him the love and care. She did an excellent job for us, and Cody had a good experience. I would recommend Sandy to anyone. She gives great care. ”
“Selena was great. It was our first time using her and we will be going back. She was accommodating when we had to change the booking (at the last minute) and she sent pictures and videos daily to let us know how Abby was doing. 5 stars for sure.”

“We are so lucky to have a close and reliable dog sitter who can handle large breed dogs such as Ripley. We know our dog has some challenge factors such as pulling and sudden excitement, but with Dan's extensive experience, he can reign those in. Thanks, Dan, for spending time with Ripley and giving us frequent updates with photos.”

“Elizabeth and Sterling were fantastic. I booked last minute without much time for a meet and greet, and not only did they oblige and still meet same day, they made me feel comfortable leaving my dog with them. Their dog Lilo is such a sweetheart as well! They provided updates and exercise and I knew my pup was in good hands. Thank you so much for your great care! And I'm sorry again for the late plane arrival on my return!”

“Barry was fantastic with Ollie! This was my first time using him, and I couldn't be happier. Ollie seemed incredibly relaxed, happy, and well taken care of the entire time. I really appreciated that Barry sent regular picture updates of their walks and nap times, which gave me total peace of mind. I will definitely be using Barry again and highly recommend him!”

“Our family is so grateful to Megan for taking such good care of Lumi! We had peace of mind knowing that she was well taken care off while we were on a trip. Megan shared many videos and photos. She also took Lumi to the dog park! We highly recommend Megan.”

“Cassandra and Trevor were wonderful with our dog, Buddy. He took to them immediately at a meet and greet and subsequently stayed with them overnight. It was clear that they treated our dog with care and warmth. We enjoyed the images they sent to us. We will definitely use them again . Thank you for taking great care of him.”

“Fin is an exceptional caretaker! She is patient, kind and truly understands dog behavior. She went out of her way to help train our pup with separation anxiety. She is the best!”

“Allison and her husband were awesome! Their two dogs got along so well with Lulu. She sent lots of pictures and spoiled our dog while we were away. Thanks for taking our baby on such short notice!”

“Yuting was great. She communicated daily and sent video and pics throughout our time away. Dave was exercised daily and had plenty of play time with her pups as well! Thanks, Yuting!”

“Moira was awesome! She took such great care of Rufus, sent a lot of pictures every day and filled me in on how he was while I was away! She went above and beyond with the meet and greet, having Rufus explore the place before going there to stay. She took him on walks and made sure to have water available and a foldable bowl for any moment he needed to drink. She was thoughtful throughout every part! I highly recommend her and couldn’t be happier with my Rover experience. :)”

“Marta was absolutely wonderful with our Great Dane, Toby. She provided a clean and welcoming home, and was so flexible when our vacation plans changed. She took Toby to the dog park, and he came home happy and well-behaved. Her own dog was also very sweet and adjusted easily to playing with Toby and sharing their space. I felt confident knowing Toby was in great hands. I would absolutely book with Marta again when we’re in the area—thank you so much for taking such good care of our puppy!”

About: I’ve pet sit for family and friends for a handful of years and adore it! I’m new to the east side of the state and miss my dog that’s back home with my family. Would be honored to love on your dog while you’re busy or working! :) I have extensive experience watching senior dogs as well as administering medications of all kind if this is something needed for your dog! I currently work nights so I’m home from 6am-8pm to love on your dog and make sure they’re getting their needs met. During work I’m still available to come home throughout the night and check in on them and make sure they’re comfortable. During my off days I have 4-5 days off at a time as well so I’m home all day and able to take them on whatever adventure they may want! Whether it’s a stroll through my neighborhood or a running exercise, whatever fits their energy levels! I have a nice unfenced yard in my apartment complex and quiet areas to take them on walks. No other animals in the home and nice open space for the dog so they’re not cramped. Dog washing is available as well for a nice spa day if requested.
“Emily was an absolutely amazing dog sitter! She took care of our little girl as if she was her own. The pictures and updates through our trip eased our minds even more. Her little Bowie is the sweetest as well! We were honored to have had the chance to meet them both!”

“Oh my gosh we hit the jackpot with Anastasia! She treated Bubby like one of her own with a birthday celebration and photos of his stay ? he was probably sad to come home.”

“Thank you so much for taking care of our cat, Atlas, during the two weeks we were out of the country. We really appreciated your daily updates and the care and attention you gave him throughout his stay. Your cat room was delightful, and it was wonderful to know that Atlas felt so comfortable and happy while we were away. We truly appreciate everything you did for him and would absolutely use your cat boarding services again. Thank you for taking such great care of our little guy!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Washougal
Rochelle and her family were absolutely amazing! It was our first time leaving our dog anywhere other than a kennel. She listened to all of our concerns and made all of the accommodations to make us feel comfortable in leaving him. We received several check-ins and photos/videos which made our trip out of town worry-free. He loved playing with the kids and made himself right at home. We will definitely be using Rochelle for any future needs.

Tracy and her family were so great with our pup but even more so they were very understanding when our plans unexpectedly changed due to a family emergency. She stayed very communicative and helpful throughout the whole process. Thank you, Tracy! It was so nice knowing Luna was in good hands while we navigated our situation.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
