“Kimo was great with Kovu! He was super communicative, provided daily updates and always checked in with me if he had specific questions to ensure Kovu was taken care of. Excited to have Kovu stay with him again!”

“First time using Kendra as a pet sitter for our Max (Labrador) and Zeus (rescue Chi-mix). We did a meet and greet at first before the actual pet sitting date. Our dogs got along well with her 2 cute Chihuahuas and Kendra was wonderful and made us feel at ease as it was our first time boarding Zeus who is very shy and who would growl at anyone he is unfamiliar with (never biten anyone, just growl to warn). During the dog's stay, she updated us with pictures, videos, texts of both pups which made life a little easier and less worrisome esp when were in another state and so far away from them. Thank you Kendra for everything. We will definitely use her again as a pet sitter.”

“Jessica from the beginning gave me so much peace. She had such an organized clean space for my pup. Even her cats were welcoming! Her daughter was so sweet and generous with her love for my puppy. Jessica kept in contact with me everyday sending photos and asking questions about my pups habits. She was amazing and I would surely recommend and use her again. Thank you Jessica! You gave me so much peace during a difficult time having to leave my Puppy to care for my parents! I wasn't worried at all about my puppy at home and could concentrate on helping my Father.🐶🐾🦴 Thank you!”

“She did a great job with our Goldendoodle Daisy. She kept us updated with daily postings and pictures, and Daisy seemed to really enjoy her time with Becky. Would definintely use again!”

“Anastasia was so amazing! This was my first time being away from my puppy, and from the meet and greet to pickup, my pup was so comfortable and happy! I really appreciated the updates, communication, and every picture showed my pup relaxed, cozy, and having a blast. Anastasia took all the stress away from leaving my puppy with a new person, in a new environment, and I couldn't have asked for a better pupsitter! Thank you again so much for taking care of my puppy, and I definitely will reach out again if I need someone to watch her again!”

“We are repeat clients and each time , they have always gone above and beyond when it comes to taking care of our pup. We get daily updates/ photos and if there is any issues they communicate very well. They are also extremely flexible and understanding. Our pup loves it there, he gets so excited when we get there and doesn’t want to leave. I highly recommend and will always use them in the future!”

“Haleigh is fantastic! I always feel completely comfortable leaving my dog, Pepper, in her care. As Pepper has gotten older, her needs and abilities seem to change every day, and Haleigh has been wonderful at adapting to those age-related changes. She is patient, attentive, and does a great job keeping Pepper calm, comfortable, and happy. It's clear that Haleigh truly cares for the dogs she watches and treats them like her own. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and compassionate sitter, especially those with senior or geriatric dogs who need a little extra care and comfort.”

“Hanlan was great in her care of our cat. She forwarded pics and videos daily showing our cat playing and being comfortable with her care. We hope to have her care in the future and Highly recommend her to all.”

“Yuting was great. She communicated daily and sent video and pics throughout our time away. Dave was exercised daily and had plenty of play time with her pups as well! Thanks, Yuting!”

“Mackenzie did a amazing job caring for Lilly. She sent pictures and updated us on how Lilly was doing. Lilly got lots of cuddles from the family and even met a new friend to play with in the large backyard. We highly recommend her.”

“Sandy took wonderful care of my dog, Albert, and kept me updated with great communication throughout his stay. Albert clearly enjoyed hanging out with other dogs his size, and I could tell he was well cared for. I’d absolutely book with Sandy again!”

“Emma and Kenzie have been our regular dog sitters for years at Camp Oz, and always provide a ton of love and exercise for dogs of all shapes and sizes. Our most recent visit with them included an extremely scary and sudden health situation with one of our dogs (stomach torsion, common in his breed and very deadly if not quickly treated) that they immediately spotted. Their communication with us was clear and quick, and I can’t thank them enough for how decisively they acted to help our furry friend. I would trust them with the life of any of my animals, and couldn’t recommend them more highly!”

“Shirley is the best dog sitter ever! Our pup Leilani had such a great time with her, and it was so clear she cared for her like she was her own. We felt completely at ease knowing Leilani was in such loving and responsible hands. 100% recommend Shirley to anyone looking for a trustworthy and amazing dog sitter!”

“Our boy Kai had a fantastic time with Cassie for a weekend! The picture, video and text updates put our minds at ease knowing our fur baby was well cared for while we were out of town. Cassie provided great feedback and ideas after being around him for the weekend and we are beyond grateful. Would not hesitate to book Cassie again for any of her provided service.”

“Tricia is always awesome. I get daily pictures and updates, she's attentive my dogs needs, especially her food and water intake, and even gets my dog to take her pills! I couldn't ask for a better sitter!”

“Karilla and James were great! They coordinated a handoff with another sitter for me, and made sure to meet Roux ahead of time to get to know her. Would send her back for sure!”

“Kyle treated our pups so well! I could tell they were comfortable with him right away. He sends updates about 1x a day, so not as frequent as I’m used to, but that is just a preference. Would recommend!”

“I had a terrific experience with Angie sitting my dog, Cal for a long weekend. She is friendly, understanding, and an excellent communicator. I felt confident that my pup was in great hands. I hope to book with her again for future sitter needs and I would recommend her highly”

“Nadine took SUCH good care of my pups! They loved their time with her. The backyard is amazing… so much room to roam. And her pets got along so well with mine. Lots of communication and photos. It was so nice to know my babies were being loved on so much while I was away. I’d definitely recommend Nadine!!!!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Washougal
Tracy and her family were so great with our pup but even more so they were very understanding when our plans unexpectedly changed due to a family emergency. She stayed very communicative and helpful throughout the whole process. Thank you, Tracy! It was so nice knowing Luna was in good hands while we navigated our situation.

Rhonda was lovely! She watched our aussie for 4 nights ~ I received pictures, videos, & great communication our whole trip. We rarely leave, so it takes him time to warm up to people & he cuddled her every night! He also has some "special" things with his food which she was happy to do. So grateful to have found our petsitter!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
