“Lola had another great stay with Jocelyn. It’s so nice to be able to leave her knowing she feels immediately comfortable and relaxed. Jocelyn is an excellent sitter!”

“Lucky had a wonderful time with Araceli. She took great care of him and was extremely flexible with the dates. Lucky enjoyed the huge backyard especially because he is high energy and loved that he had Archie to play with. Great communicator and I highly recommend.”

“Larissa was the perfect person to take care of my dog. She sent me updates and photos throughout the entire time. I felt assured that my dog Mac was in good hands and at no point was worried. I’d happily leave my pup with Larissa again!”

“I would definitely have our dog stay with Maryorie again! She sent pictures and videos everyday which was great to see how much fun our dog was having. I would absolutely recommend her to dog sit!!!”

“This is the second time I have taken Pepper to Dominique's to be boarded. She is so loving and good with dogs. I felt very comfortable leaving her there. I enjoyed my time away more knowing that she was in good hands!”

“Natalie did a great job taking care of my fearful dog while I was out of town. Winston is very nervous about new people and she took things at his pace, setting up her home to make sure he would be comfortable and safe. She sent regular updates with photos, which I appreciated.”

“Jules was so amazing with our girls!! She watched our 12 year old Chihuahuas for the weekend & they were so well cared for and happy! She took time to provide us with pictures and videos multiple times a day and our girls looked so happy and content in them😍 We usually never leave our girls with Rovers because we tend to be anxious pet parents, but Jules totally put our minds at ease. Our baby Bailey is a quite timid girl and can be difficult to warm up, somehow, Jules was able to get Bailey to warm up to her in just two days and even let Jules pick her up to carry her. If you knew Bailey, you would know how big of a deal that is! Jules has a very warm and kind energy. We cannot wait to book with her again next time we’re needing a sitter! Thank you Jules!!”

“Caitlin (Margaret) takes care of my August like he is one of their family. I get lots of pictures while I'm gone, so I know he is as spoiled there as he is at home. When I went to pick him up, August didn't want to leave! When I got him into the car he wasn't over-stressed and anxious, and he also wasn't over-tired. Just perfect!”

“Kristen did a wonderful job watching our dog. I love that she sends daily updates and pictures. We always feel comfortable having Kristen watch our pup. Thanks Kristen!”

“Barry took such great care of Bug. He was very intentional with walks and treat enrichment. He has great communication. I will definitely use him in the future.”

“Steve was very professional and had good communication. His house is very well planned out for his doggy guests and very secure with double gates where needed. Our pup Chester liked him immediately and was well taken care of.”

“When we were searching for someone to take care of Bella and Cody, Kristi was the first person we came across in the results. We didn't hesitate to reach out to her, and we're incredibly glad we did. Kristi provided a wonderful home for Bella and Cody, taking excellent care of them and keeping us updated every day. We couldn't be happier with her services. Highly recommended!”

“We had a fantastic experience with Christine and Steven! They were generous in setting up a meet and greet as this was our dog’s first time staying with them. They are caring and responsive, and we really appreciated the photos and updates about our pup!”

“I almost want to gatekeep Kathryn, she’s so good. Dog sat my puppy for 10 days and don’t think he wanted to come home. No but in all seriousness, Kathryn is the epitome of professional and a talented dog person. Appreciate her so much.”

“Don is absolutely the best! I can't imagine a better sitter for our Maverick. He enjoys playing with Hunter, going on walks, and cuddling with Melody. We always feel completely comfortable when Maverick stays with Don and that is a huge relief....knowing that our little guy is well cared for!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Vancouver
We went out of town for 10 days while our dog, Rita, was having some GI issues, and Sean took amazing care of her. We honestly couldn't have asked for a better pet sitter. He went above and beyond by making her special food, keeping a close eye on her, and updating us along the way. We were so worried that we even offered to come home early, but Sean reassured us that Rita was doing well and that he had everything under control. That gave us so much peace of mind. On top of that, Rita absolutely loves Sean and his girlfriend. It's clear they genuinely care about the pets they watch and treat them like they're part of their own family. We completely trust them with Rita and wouldn't hesitate to leave her with them again. If you're looking for someone who is reliable, compassionate, and truly goes above and beyond, I can't recommend Sean enough.

Fran was wonderful! She took amazing care of Pepper, taking her on walks, providing plenty of toys, setting up her blanket for a comfortable place to sleep that reminded her of home and even taking her to a swimming hole. She provided regular updates including videos and photos. I was able to fully enjoy my time away knowing that Pepper was having fun with Fran and her pup Murphy. Fran clearly loves dogs and has lots of experience. Do not hesitate to book with Fran.

I had to have surgery and needed someone to watch my boy for a month. Maryorie was FANTASTIC! It was such a relief to know he was taken care of and gave me the grace to be able to focus on healing instead of worrying. I HIGHLY recommend her and will definitely use her again.

Deboye was wonderful with Johnny, and we would 100% book with him again. From the start, he took all of our notes and concerns seriously, which gave us so much peace of mind. We could tell Johnny was in great hands and being really well cared for. He was so sweet about meeting Johnny at his own pace and never pushing him too quickly, which helped him settle in comfortably. He picked up on Johnny’s little quirks and routine right away, stayed on top of his meds, and kept him on his normal schedule. We also really appreciated all of the updates and photos throughout the stay — we missed our pup a lot, and it was such a comfort getting those check-ins and knowing he was doing well. Deboye is attentive, responsible, flexible, and genuinely kind. We’re so grateful for the care he gave Johnny and wouldn’t hesitate to book with him again. We’d absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for someone thoughtful and trustworthy to care for their dog.

I cannot express how relieved I am to have found such a wonderful Dog Sitter. My dog can be a little nervous at times, and she was perfectly comfortable for a long stay with Vivian. Vivian sent pictures each day, and I could see how comfortable Blanca was in her care. 100% recommend Vivian, and will be sure to bring Blanca back regularly, as they have formed a great bond. Thank you Vivian, I know Blanca looks forward to seeing you again.

Shadie did really well with Reuben and he warmed up to her quickly, since this was his first time being watched by her. She let him play in background with other dogs and snuggle with him and he overall had a blast and was comfortable. She also is great with communication and send frequent photos of Reuben. Definitely recommend.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
