“Chris is a phenomenal person; thoughtful, meticulous, and clearly dedicated to providing the best possible experience for every dog in his care. His home is beautiful, well-maintained, and exceptionally dog-friendly. We were naturally eager to know how Benz was doing after we left, and Chris quickly put our minds at ease by sending us a photo of Benz happily playing in a pool he had set up in the backyard for the dogs. That simple gesture warmed our hearts tremendously and showed just how much he cares. We highly recommend Chris and would send Benz to stay with him again in a heartbeat.”

“Lisa was kind and capable and asked all the right questions. Her house was tidy and ready for a wandering pup. She saw that my dog was feeling antsy at the start of his visit and took him for a walk to help him calm down a bit. She was easy to schedule with and got back to me quickly in general. I will definitely be booking additional stays with her!”
“Annika, John, and Pepper were great with our pup Lemon. She’s very shy and takes a little bit to warm up, but she was cuddling with them in no time. They were very communicative and sent us updates so we were never worried. And Pepper is a perfect, well behaved playmate. :)”

“Barry was a wonderful dog-sitter--he sent photos of my dog on walks and chilling in the house. I felt confident that Ripley was cared for and I could focus on my out of town activities. It's a bonus that Barry's own dog could also keep my dog company. I would re-book again!”

“Oh my goodness, I'm pretty sure Hazel had an even better vacation than I did! From the start she was comfortable and snuggly with Paul and Arnel. Their home is warm, relaxed, and attracts good "dog vibes," if that's a thing. I so appreciated the wonderful communication, too-- frequent pictures and sweet observations came my way. As a first time Rover user, I had lots of questions about logistics, communication, etc., and Paul was incredibly kind and helpful. Thank you, Paul and Arnel, for being the best imaginable home away from home for sweet Hazel!”

“I really enjoyed having Ziggy an Samson stay with Jay, They came back so positive an calm, so I know he had spent a lot of time with them which made me so happy.. Also getting pictures of them really hit home an made my trip so easy just to know they were happy an content.. I will always pick Jay to watch my babies, he did such an outstanding job!! I recommend that you to book with him, your dog will love it!! Thanks again Jay!!”

“Chom Chom had a wonderful stay with Heath & Amy! They made sure he had plenty of time outside and lots of snuggles. Chom got a lot well with all the other pups and had a great time!”

“Moira is absolutely amazing—my dog Teddy compeltely ADORED her! She has a natural gift with dogs and made my anxious pup feel totally at ease (which is no small feat). She’s also a CHAMPION communicator, sending quick replies and the cutest updates that kept me smiling. Bonus: she’s not only affordable, but super flexible too, which made everything so easy. I swear my dog didn’t want to come back home… and honestly, I don’t blame him! Highly recommend 🐾✨”

“I almost want to gatekeep Kathryn, she’s so good. Dog sat my puppy for 10 days and don’t think he wanted to come home. No but in all seriousness, Kathryn is the epitome of professional and a talented dog person. Appreciate her so much.”

“Karilla and James were great! They coordinated a handoff with another sitter for me, and made sure to meet Roux ahead of time to get to know her. Would send her back for sure!”

“Rover is a fussy dog and maybe a little spoiled. Juan was courteous and thoughtful and contacted us when Rover's physical conditions and behaviors would change. He kept us updated with Rover's progress until they subsided. Rover was a bit distant at the beginning, which is our dog's nature, Juan was able to draw her out of her shell and became more interested in paying with Juan and he earned her affection. We will use Juan for our next trip where we cannot bring Rover.”

“Peter, is amazing with our girl. So kind and caring. She has a special diet and is older and I know she will be taken care of and loved just like at home when with Peter and his son Trevon. Our girl stayed this visit for 2 weeks. We received lots of photos and updates everyday. ❤️”

“Larissa was the perfect person to take care of my dog. She sent me updates and photos throughout the entire time. I felt assured that my dog Mac was in good hands and at no point was worried. I’d happily leave my pup with Larissa again!”

“Caitlin (Margaret) takes care of my August like he is one of their family. I get lots of pictures while I'm gone, so I know he is as spoiled there as he is at home. When I went to pick him up, August didn't want to leave! When I got him into the car he wasn't over-stressed and anxious, and he also wasn't over-tired. Just perfect!”

“Great people who take very good care of our golden doodle . They have huge backyard and good communication with the owners. Will be booking again. Our dog was happy”

“The best care we could have ever imagined for our pup! Truly, he has never been happier at pick up. We knew all his need were being met and Rosemary is an absolute star.”
“I've had Steve watch my 1 year old dog twice now and can't say enough good things about him! He is a multi-dog sitter who has been wonderful with large dog packs. Steve sends pictures and videos when ever I ask for a check in. He has been flexible with pick up and drop off. He asks all the right questions up front. Steve is my go-to sitter from now on. His home is lovely and he has a beautiful yard for the dogs to play in. Both if his own dogs are happy and so sweet to me and Jade whenever we visit. I am SO grateful to have a person so close that I fell so comfortable bringing my dog to.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Vancouver
We went out of town for 10 days while our dog, Rita, was having some GI issues, and Sean took amazing care of her. We honestly couldn't have asked for a better pet sitter. He went above and beyond by making her special food, keeping a close eye on her, and updating us along the way. We were so worried that we even offered to come home early, but Sean reassured us that Rita was doing well and that he had everything under control. That gave us so much peace of mind. On top of that, Rita absolutely loves Sean and his girlfriend. It's clear they genuinely care about the pets they watch and treat them like they're part of their own family. We completely trust them with Rita and wouldn't hesitate to leave her with them again. If you're looking for someone who is reliable, compassionate, and truly goes above and beyond, I can't recommend Sean enough.

Fran was wonderful! She took amazing care of Pepper, taking her on walks, providing plenty of toys, setting up her blanket for a comfortable place to sleep that reminded her of home and even taking her to a swimming hole. She provided regular updates including videos and photos. I was able to fully enjoy my time away knowing that Pepper was having fun with Fran and her pup Murphy. Fran clearly loves dogs and has lots of experience. Do not hesitate to book with Fran.

Deboye was wonderful with Johnny, and we would 100% book with him again. From the start, he took all of our notes and concerns seriously, which gave us so much peace of mind. We could tell Johnny was in great hands and being really well cared for. He was so sweet about meeting Johnny at his own pace and never pushing him too quickly, which helped him settle in comfortably. He picked up on Johnny’s little quirks and routine right away, stayed on top of his meds, and kept him on his normal schedule. We also really appreciated all of the updates and photos throughout the stay — we missed our pup a lot, and it was such a comfort getting those check-ins and knowing he was doing well. Deboye is attentive, responsible, flexible, and genuinely kind. We’re so grateful for the care he gave Johnny and wouldn’t hesitate to book with him again. We’d absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for someone thoughtful and trustworthy to care for their dog.

I cannot express how relieved I am to have found such a wonderful Dog Sitter. My dog can be a little nervous at times, and she was perfectly comfortable for a long stay with Vivian. Vivian sent pictures each day, and I could see how comfortable Blanca was in her care. 100% recommend Vivian, and will be sure to bring Blanca back regularly, as they have formed a great bond. Thank you Vivian, I know Blanca looks forward to seeing you again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
