About: What dogs love about spending time with us: 1) They have a sense of comfort & trust. I am always attentive with them, since I work from home and have worked in (human) emergency rooms and psychiatric facilities so handle chaos well. 2) My lifestyle is flexible based on what they prefer (long walks or relaxing) and they usually have 2 people available 3) my apartment faces S/SE and gets sun throughout the day. Dogs seem to LOVE sunbathing. 4) I am close to downtown parks and 3 blocks from the new section of the waterfront. About: When I was 12 I began volunteering at the Oregon Humane Society caring for and walking dogs of all ages and behavioral levels. I volunteered at the OHS until I turned 18 when I began working at a doggy daycare and boarding facility, as well as pet-sitting. As a dog handler I spent time 1:1 time with dogs, distributing medication, and moderating large groups. Currently, I take many of those same dogs on weekly hikes, adventures, dog walks and work on basic obedience. About: I’ve taken care of dogs my whole life. Recently just had to say goodbye to my pup of 10 years. We walked a healthy amount three times a day rain snow or shine I work as a teacher so I’m home early enough to walk a dog or two and can make morning walks happen too if needed. When I walk dogs, I hold on to them with their leash wrapped around my wrist and led very calmly. I can also work with non leash trained dogs.

About: I have grown up around dogs my entire life. I currently have 2 dogs who are both 11 years old. One is a rescue (charlotte) who we’ve had for her entire life and one is a foster fail (Fiona) who we’ve had for two years now. I fostered another dog for about 6 months who was disabled, she was a very happy dog and even without use of her back legs would make her way around! Most of my dogs have been small dogs so I have more experience with small dogs. I’ve taken care of one big dog, who was a black lab/basset hound mix so I have a little bit of experience working with bigger dogs. I work in a park and as a delivery driver so I am well versed in dog body language. I believe that giving an animal their space and allowing them to set their own boundaries with a new person is a great way for them to feel confident with me from the start. I am free pretty much every weekday! Weekends are a little more complicated as I do work another job on the weekends that will need my attention. But I do mostly gig work so, I am flexible and willing to have a conversation and work out a schedule that works for both of us! I recognize that all pets have a routine and like humans if their routine gets thrown off it doesn’t feel great. I will care for your pets by trying to follow the routine you have set for them as closely as possible. This can help your pet not feel like their entire day is thrown off by something changing, like meeting a new person or someone else walking them.
