About: Hello, I’m Fran—a devoted dog lover and experienced guardian offering a highly personalized, in-home care experience for a select few dogs at a time. When you’re away, I offer your dog more than just care—I provide a true holiday of their own. Each dog is welcomed into a calm, thoughtfully held environment where they are not just looked after, but genuinely known, understood, and cherished. I believe we don’t own our pets—we’re entrusted with them. My role is to ensure every dog in my care feels safe, happy, and deeply loved, with a sense of ease and belonging. Over the years, I’ve cared for dogs of all breeds, ages, and temperaments. Each one arrives with their own story and personality, and it’s a joy to watch them settle in, open up, and truly thrive. Because I work with a limited number of families, I’m able to offer an experience that is unhurried, intuitive, and deeply personal—something both dogs and their people can feel completely at ease with. If you’re seeking a more intentional, personalized experience for your dog, I invite you to get in touch and explore availability. I understand schedules vary and sometimes life presents surprises where we need to find someone to care for our beloved pup at the last minute. I work remotely with a flexible schedule. Let me help you when you need it most. Every day, I plan activities to engage their brains and exercise their bodies, often involving adventures through the neighborhood, trips to the fenced dog park, and visits to the river on hot days. At the end of the day, we enjoy healthy treats that I prepare myself, which also engage their brains and senses. I live in Vancouver, Washington, with my 8-year-old black lab mix, Murphy, who loves humans and other dogs and is non-aggressive. My home is well-maintained with a large deck where dogs can play and relax.I work from home which means your 'kids' are never left alone for long periods.

Our cat’s medication needs and routine changed just days before our trip. Kristin was flexible enough to change the schedule to twice a day visits instead of once on very short notice. She also followed all the new directions and was able to convince our cat to eat the pill pockets - no small task. She provided us great updates and photos. We were able to enjoy our trip instead of worrying the whole time about our cat.

About: I’ve worked with a wide variety of animals, including cats, dogs, horses, rabbits, mice, guinea pigs, and more. I’m comfortable handling pets of all sizes, personalities, and temperaments—whether they’re energetic, calm, reactive, nervous, or affectionate. I’m skilled at reading animal behavior, staying calm in challenging situations, and adapting to each animal’s individual needs. My priority is always to create a safe, comfortable environment where every animal feels secure, respected, and well cared for. Sorry for the lack of photos, I usually stay present with the animals! While I do clean up while I’m over at your house, i also offer housekeeping for extra. If you need! Pet care fits easily into my schedule because I’m able to plan my day around visits, feedings, walks, medication administration, and check-ins. I’m organized, reliable, and understand the importance of consistency in an animal’s routine. Whether a pet needs early morning care, midday attention, evening visits, or overnight stays, I communicate clearly about my availability and ensure I can fully commit to the care schedule before accepting a booking. I treat every pet as a priority and make sure they receive the time, attention, and care they need. I provide attentive, low-stress care whether pets stay in my home or I care for them in theirs. In my home, pets enjoy a safe, clean, and comfortable environment with plenty of opportunities to play, explore, and relax. I maintain consistent routines for feeding, potty breaks, exercise, and any special care needs to help them feel settled and secure. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their established routine as closely as possible, providing companionship, exercise, supervision, and personalized attention while respecting household rules and preferences. I’m comfortable working with pets of all sizes, ages, energy levels, and temperaments, and I focus on creating a positive experience where every animal feels safe, understood, and well cared for.

About: I’ve been an animal lover for as long as I can remember. I grew up with cats and dogs & got my first taste of hands-on pet care when I got my sweet pup for my 8th birthday. Fast forward, I now have the privilege of loving that same dog’s two puppies (who are now 10 years old). I work from home and walk my girls every 2-3 hours. I can exercise high energy dogs or make walks shorter and easier for senior pups. I’m very affectionate and love cuddly pups and kitties. I’m happy to tailor care to your animal’s needs & love them like my own! I’m also comfortable administering medications. I work from home full time so pet care is easy and flexible for me. I walk my girls every 2-3 hours and will be happy to do the same for your pup. Whenever I do leave, I try not to be gone for more than 4 hours to ensure no one is left alone for too long. I live in a two bedroom townhouse with a small front yard for quick potty breaks. The neighborhood is great for walks and is very safe. My two dogs are 10 year old chihuahuas and are very relaxed, friendly, and lazy (they love to sleep all day). While caring for your baby, I can provide separation if needed or preferred, or if it’s comfortable for you, everyone can happily co-exist. I also have a small crate available if needed at any time. I work from home and am home with my pets all day. I also have a living room camera to check on the babies whenever we are out of the house. I can use the two-way audio & microphone to talk to them with this. :)

About: I have been taking care of dogs since I was 16 years old. I adopted my most recent rescue about five years ago. I take her on multiple long walks every day! I also have experience with senior dogs and disabled dogs. I currently work part time and make my own schedule, so I can work around your needs. I am available for multiple check-ins a day, and will walk whatever route needed. I have a fully fenced backyard and live right next to a park with walking trails. I have a dog who loves playing with other dogs, but can be separated if needed.

FAQs for Drop-In Visits - Vancouver

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Dog Sitting in Vancouver on Rover is $18.87 per visit (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Dog Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Dog Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 6,321 sitters on Rover offering Dog Sitting across Vancouver. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Vancouver stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Vancouver choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.

To find sitters in Vancouver with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Vancouver. On Rover:

  • 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 94% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
