About: Animals have always been part of my life — from horses to fish, and most importantly, dogs. For the past 2+ years I’ve been a foster with the Portland Dachshund Rescue, caring for everything from energetic puppies to seniors with medical needs. Through local dachshund meetups and rescue work, I’ve become known as a trusted safe space for small dogs in the Portland community. Because I only host up to two small dogs at a time (20 lbs and under), I can keep routines flexible — from regular potty breaks and short walks to cuddle breaks on the couch. My schedule is designed to give your pup a safe, consistent rhythm while you’re away. Whether your pup is staying at my townhome or I’m caring for them in yours, safety is always the top priority. My home is rescue-approved with secure fencing, pet stairs, and even an outdoor ramp in progress for tiny legs. Guests are always supervised, indoors and out. If I’m in your home, I treat your space with the same respect I’d want for my own. I understand the trust it takes to hand over your keys, and I’m happy to follow any security routines or send photos so you feel comfortable. About: I grew up with animals always around, dogs, cats, and birds, but am not ready to have one of my own again at this time. I work from home so will be available to your pets at all times. I have a big fenced back yard to play in. I limit stays to 1 household at a time to ensure everyone is familiar and comfortable with eachother. I am comfortable with pets of all ages and experienced in administering any medicines needed. I do live with a partner, while he is an animal lover too, I will be the sole sitter for your pets during their stay. I really look forward to meeting your fur babies! I work from home so I’ll be available at all hours of the day. My workday usually starts at 7am but that is highly flexible. My house is small but I have a large fenced in backyard and am usually okay just keeping the door open for pets to go in and out as they like during down time. I prefer for your pets to stay with me but if you need me to come to your place that can be arranged. I will respect your home and your home’s safety however you deem. I’m here to help you and your pets feel as comfortable as possible while you are away

About: I may be new to Rover, but I'm not new to working with dogs. My life revolves around dogs and has for many, many years. I run my own pet services business, Hounds of Love PDX, and bring a lifetime of experience in all areas including rescue, handling, walking, daycare, sitting, fostering, transporting and volunteering with local rescue organizations, as well as for Oregon Dog Rescue and Dove Lewis. I'm a small dog and senior advocate, and work with dogs of all sizes. I’ve always had an affinity for sighthounds(Greyhounds, Italian Greyhounds, etc), and understand their unique and sensitive nature well. I always put dogs first in every aspect of life, and feel they’re all part of my extended pack, and treat every dog as such. Safety is absolutely the top priority for me when working with pets. I’m always watching, listening and paying attention to their body language. I have a thorough understanding of dog behavior and know that each dog has a unique personality and needs, and that not all dogs are extroverts. In fact, many are quite the opposite. I’m naturally hyper-vigilant, yet focus on remaining kind, calm and confident when working with dogs, especially when out in the world. I’ve completed a variety of trainings with dogs over my lifetime, from canine good citizen, to flyball, to advanced therapy dog training. I’m Pet CPR + First Aid certified, as well as bonded and insured through Pet Sitters Associates. I always carry a well-stocked pet first aid kit in my vehicle, as well as water, bowls, treats, blankets and travel crates so as to always be as prepared. I’m professional, reliable, punctual, responsible, trustworthy and pride myself on practicing clear and transparent communication. I'm located in the East/SE Portland area, also near Happy Valley and Gresham, and I service most all surrounding areas. In addition to working with dogs, I'm also a part-time jewelry artist and I work out of my home studio. I make my own schedule and usually, always available. I can schedule around most everything. At my home, I have three small rescue dogs that are a bonded pack. We utilize pet gates in our one level, ranch style home, and dog run fencing in our large, fenced backyard. About: I have grown up with pets and even found my first job working at an animal boarding house. You could say I learned to become a professional dog walker at a young age. I have two high anxiety dogs and have been working on their social skills and coping methods to help their anxiety. I work full-time from home but take frequent breaks to let the dogs go out and play and take multiple walks a day to give them exercise. Weekends are mostly free to cuddle and to play with the fur babies. When house sitting or boarding pets I stay close so they be taken care of as needed. I keep my own pets on a schedule feeding, potty breaks and play with puzzles to earn treats. I will follow clients care guidelines to maintain consistency and keep them comfortable while their owners are gone.

About: While I've grown up with dogs and cats, I also have professional pet sitting experience taking care of dogs with diabetes, blind cats, guinea pigs, and even a llama! Pets and their caretakers have trusted me so much, they have flown me to their new homes after moving out of state for further petsitting assignments. I give emotional connection and comfort to pets while they're missing their humans, even reading aloud to them, because I believe it is an integral part of the job. Currently, this is my primary work, so I will have time to spare to take care of your animals. I volunteer regularly at animal sanctuaries and other orgs to improve the lives of animals. I have typically been asked to spend the night with the pets in the client's home, and spend as much time with them as possible, but I can also make daily visits instead if necessary. If you prefer I make visits, keep in mind the distance it would take for me to get to your place, and consider allowing me to make fewer, longer visits instead of multiple brief ones throughout the day.

About: I’m a serious plant guy and have over 130 of my own house plants. I also set up drip irrigation in my yard. I love cats and would be happy to stop in to check on them, clean their litter boxes and give them water. I am an early riser so taking care of animals in the morning and evening works great for me. I am available all days of the week unless I am out of town. I would be happy to water or feed your plants as well as ensure humidifiers are full. I am happy to let your cats in or out, feed them, provide fresh water and clean litter boxes. I would love the opportunity to play with your cat and ensure they have somewhere to scratch.

I truly love this work, and as a pet parent myself, I strive to care for each animal the same way I would want my own pet cared for. I currently work part-time as an animal care technician. So, I'm professionally trained on how to read animals' behavioral cues, understand signs of stress, and ensure comfort in unfamiliar environments. My husband works from home full-time and cares for the animals while I'm at work. Rest assured, they will never be alone for more than 2-4 hours during their stay with me. We go on walks three times a day (15 minutes each) and I feed them twice a day. During our meet and greet, I will also ask you about your own schedule with your dog to make sure I accommodate. My home is a dog paradise! I have a very spacious 2.6k square foot, two-story, 4 bedroom home with a fenced backyard with ample shade. The dogs are supervised 24/7, whether they're relaxing in my office with me, or sleeping in my room on their own dog bed. I have two twin-sized beds designated for dogs, crates for most sizes, 8 queen-sized soft blankets specifically for dogs (sherpa wool and fleece), and lots of toys and bones for them to play with. IMPORTANT: I cannot accept dogs who are not friendly with cats or small dogs. Specifically, if they are known to chase, bark at, swat or corner them.
