“My doggos have never been more chill! When I picked them up Shauna walked them out and they were genuinely surprised to see me standing there. They were well cared for and we will want to be on the repeat list! Big thanks for all the good care and snuggles too.”

“Emily was an absolutely amazing dog sitter! She took care of our little girl as if she was her own. The pictures and updates through our trip eased our minds even more. Her little Bowie is the sweetest as well! We were honored to have had the chance to meet them both!”

“We absolutely will use Jared again. Our dog is 13 and takes meds 3 times a day. This is the first time we have left him with someone that wasn’t family or a close friend, but Jared did great. We lived all the pictures and could tell Ollie was living his best life!”

“This is Daisy's fourth or fifth stay with Paul and Arnel - every time she is spoiled & treated as one of their own! It is such a comfort to know how loved on she is when she visits them.”

“We were very satisfied with our dog's stay with Alex and Dalton. They were kind and showed genuine interest in her comfort and safety. We'd certainly do it again another time.”

“This family is so wonderful to Jake, and always so accommodating (appreciate the early morning drop off to make a flight). Thank you for taking such great care of our senior dog!!”

“We've had Zoey stay with Jennifer and her family several times and they are so great with her! Zoey fits right in, and even as she's getting older they are happy to help her with what she needs. Highly recommend.”

“Christine was awesome in caring for our two elderly dogs at her home!! From the moment we connected by phone, I sensed her warm, caring spirit toward animals. She sent regular updates and photos while we were away. I offer Christine the highest level of recommendation and we definitely plan on utilizing her again in the future.”

“Our girl Tillie Bean loves to stay with Angie and has done well with her while we are away. It is such a relief knowing she is good hands and that she is having her own special getaway with Angie. Thanks for loving our special little lady🐾”

“Allison was really communicative and extra patient when we left our newly rescued pup, Penny. We weren’t sure how Penny would do while we were away from her for the first time and Allison worked with her. From giving her meds, to taking her on a 3 mile hike, Allison went out of her way to adapt to Penny’s needs 🤍”

“Anelys did an excellent job with my pup! She was willing to take her with little notice and had a great dog park behind her house. I could tell she cares about pets and I knew she was in good hands, especially with her experience as a vet tech. Thank you so much!!”

“We left our sweet Cora with Pam for five days over Memorial Day, and she had a great time! I'm sure she enjoyed Pam's lovely fenced yard. I really appreciated that Pam adhered to Cora's strict prescription diet and meds, she's a little high maintenance at the moment. Cora seemed relaxed and happy when we picked her up. I recommend Pam for your pet-sitting needs!”

About: I am a dog groomer and sitter of 3 years, I have a standard poodle and a Mexican hairless dog. I also show my Mexican hairless dog in akc dog shows. I have experience with reactive dogs, intact dogs, and primitive dogs. My specialty is aloof breeds as I love the connection and bond, it makes it even more special when they trust you. I work full time as a dog groomer and admin at barkzone, but your pup would be able to come with me and hang out in the office safely away from the other pups with fresh water and access to a backyard for supervised potty time I have a separate dog room for feeding time and kennels for unsupervised time away from them. If they need to sleep in a kennel I have extras or they can sleep with me. I do not have a fenced yard but I can offer structured walks around the block or to the parks! And lots of play time
“Kristen did a wonderful job watching our dog. I love that she sends daily updates and pictures. We always feel comfortable having Kristen watch our pup. Thanks Kristen!”

“Carrie and her family were fantastic weekend sitters for our 15 year old, special needs pup. The level of care exceeded our expectations. My dog was a little nervous for the first night, and they did everything they could to bring him a little more comfort. We appreciate all the little details via text, photos, and I know he was happy and safe with lots of lap cuddles. I would highly recommend them, and we are so grateful. Trustworthy, compassionate, and professional communicators. Thank you!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Wood Village
We could not have asked for a better experience! Alyssa took exceptional care of Milo and showered him with so much love and attention. She checked in with us multiple times every single day, took him on fun outings, and even treated him to pup cups! When our plans changed and we needed to extend his stay by over a week, she was incredibly flexible and accommodating. It gave us total peace of mind knowing Milo was having as much fun as we were. We will 100% be booking with Alyssa again!

Michelle was wonderful! We booked her just one day before our trip, and she was incredibly flexible and accommodating with our last-minute request. Since we were traveling to Portland from out of town and leaving our dog with someone we didn’t know, we really appreciated how responsive and welcoming she was from the start. When we arrived, Michelle gave us a full tour of her house and backyard, introduced us to the other dogs staying there, and made sure everyone got along. It immediately made us feel much more comfortable leaving our dog with her. While we were away, Michelle was very responsive and sent us lots of photos and updates, which we really appreciated. We could tell our dog was happy and well cared for, and we felt completely confident that she was in good hands while we were at the festival. We would absolutely book with Michelle again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, communicative, and trustworthy dog sitter!

Amanda and Joshua were incredible with Kya! She is typically a pretty anxious girl but she looked like she was having a blast in all of the photos I received during her stay. She got along great with their resident dog and Amanda was very communicative and checked in with us often. We would absolutely bring Kya back again!

Shasta was fantastic! She was kind enough to help me out last minute when my original plans fell through. She was great at communicating and sending me pics! My girls looked so happy and comfy getting all the love and yard time! I would definitely recommend and rebook! Thank you Shasta!

Lori’s care for Dante was above and beyond. It was the first time I ever left him and I was concerned about how he would adapt. She kept me posted about him with pictures everyday and reported on his behavior. She has a large, safe yard and dog friendly house where he was doted on. It was obvious that she is a real dog person and made me worry free. I would definitelybook with Lori again.

Jamilett was so sweet to our elderly pup! She already had blankets down bc she knew or girl was scared of hardwood floors and was so responsive to messaging us back. We received updates daily and never worried about Shiloh during our trip. Will book with her again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OR ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
