“Araceli & her husband were amazing!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ They took care of our Sullivan for 2 weeks while we were on our honeymoon, and their updates, messages, and pictures reflected their commitment to ensuring that our baby felt safe and comfortable. When Sully had a bit of an allergy flareup on his nose, they were quick to notify me and give him some ointment. It truly seemed that they cared for our pup as they would their own. I HIGHLY recommend them if you are looking for a sitter. 💜 They are truly lovely!!”

“Madeline took great care of our dog, Odi. She was flexible with her schedule when we needed to shift by 1 day and super communicative with whatever requests or questions we had. I would trust her to watch Odi anytime.”

“We are so grateful for Linda! She took such wonderful care of our dog, who has a spunky personality. Her daily updates were very thorough and gave us a great picture of his stay. Sometimes, it takes our dog a day or two to recover, but after his stay with Linda, he came home healthy, happy, and unstressed. It was his way of saying he had a wonderful time with Linda and can't wait to see her again.”

“Kyle treated our pups so well! I could tell they were comfortable with him right away. He sends updates about 1x a day, so not as frequent as I’m used to, but that is just a preference. Would recommend!”

“Devin was very communicative and runs a smooth operation! I felt confident in her abilities to care for my golden retriever while managing multiple personalities.”

“Amber and her family took excellent care of our dog Dobby! He was obviously very comfortable and received a lot of love and attention while there. The photo and video updates gave us a lot of confidence to relax, knowing he was in great hands and having his own vacation!”

“Veronica is very sweet. She was very nice to my dog. Her 2 dogs are very friendly and seems like my dog had a great time at Veronica’s house. I will ask her again. I do strongly recommend her to all dog owners.”

“Kelley is WONDERFUL! She took amazing care of my dog, Roxie, and I felt so at ease while I was out of town. She was so easy to communicate with, will definitely look to have Roxie stay with her again!!”

“Colleen was great! Very accommodating with scheduling, sent updates during the stay, and my guy looked like he had a great time when I picked him up. Highly recommended!”

“Hanlan was great in her care of our cat. She forwarded pics and videos daily showing our cat playing and being comfortable with her care. We hope to have her care in the future and Highly recommend her to all.”

“Serena was so sweet with Chewy and sent photos of him and Nugget on there walks and playing together. Great communication and responsiveness! We would definitely book again with Serena!”

“Anelys did an excellent job with my pup! She was willing to take her with little notice and had a great dog park behind her house. I could tell she cares about pets and I knew she was in good hands, especially with her experience as a vet tech. Thank you so much!!”

“Gary and Carol are wonderful! Waldo almost jumps out of the car with excitement when we drive up to their place. They are by no means close in proximity but the drive is well worth it!”

“It was such a relief to have our older dog in Johanna's experienced, attentive care. Her home is a calming, clean, happy-dog zone and we highly recommend her service!”

“Christine and Steven took such good care of our dog while we were away. We were out of town on our honeymoon and didn’t have any stress about whether or not he was in good hands. We got daily photos and brief updates that made a huge difference. We will definitely be using them again!”

About: Since I do not have pets in the house, your dog would be the Queen or King of the Castle. I have lots of space for them inside and outside the home. There is a dog park close by and my neighborhood is a lovely place to walk. I also love to provide lots of conversation and the occasional guitar playing for added entertainment and fun. I ask for honest and open communication and I can most likely accommodate! I am currently on summer break and have an open schedule. I do not have other pets and dedicate the day to what is needed. I have a fenced yard and a lot of space outside as well as inside the home. There is dog park close by for extra exercise and social fun.
“Barbara and Anthony were so wonderful with Poppy! They were communicative and sent lots of photos. Poppy was so relaxed when we arrived to pick her up. It was clear that she loved her stay. We will definitely book with Barbara and Anthony again!”

“Love love love it all that they provided to our Tofu❤️Absolutely recommend Linda and her family hosting your fur babies. Our Tofu spent his best two weeks at their place with lots of walks, treats, and even baths when needed. They asked many questions before hand to get to know Tofu and arranged a visit as well. It was such a relief for us during our international trip where we had no access to text messages and major social media. However, Linda still offered to contact us via WhatsApp in order to send daily updates.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Maywood Park
Carrie was an absolute lifesaver! We needed a last-minute Rover booking after realizing our Chippy was having a tough time on our road trip, and she was incredibly flexible and accommodating. She kept us updated with lots of photos and messages, which gave us so much peace of mind. You can truly tell that Carrie loves dogs and treats them like her own. We are so grateful for her willingness to help us on such short notice. We would absolutely book with her again the next time we’re in the Portland area. Highly recommend!

Kristen and her partner are the best! We had our pup stay at their house while we traveled for the week. Her communication was excellent- providing updates with photos every day, it was something our family always looked forward to. It was clear that our pup was happy at their home - large backyard to play in, lovely walks in the neighborhood, a space to hide upon hearing fireworks, lovely humans to keep him company. Highly recommend!!

Wonderful experience- we booked super last minute because our prior arrangements fell through and they were so friendly and welcoming to our dogs. Seth found a way on short notice for us to do a quick meet and greet to make sure the dogs were comfortable and asked thoughtful questions. It was so nice to have a home for our dogs to stay in rather than a kennel so that our pups weren’t stressed or lonely and we got to be updated with pictures and video during our trip. 10/10 highly recommend.

Taylor was so wonderful with my dog. He was attended to with so much care, and I felt so at ease while traveling because she was so reliable, solid and understanding about special instructions for walks and medicines. Definitely on my short list of pet care pals. Thanks for everything Taylor!

OMG.. Brandi is absolutely fantastic and we would recommend her to everyone for dog sitting. We had never used a service like this before since we always used friends and family, so we were nervous. We met up with her beforehand and Apollo was comfortable from the start and Brandi answered all my questions and concerns with no issues. Once we dropped Apollo off for the stay he was great. We were sent tons of videos and pictures. He got to sleep in bed with them just like us at home, he was giving kisses and laid with his head on laps and had a fantastic time. We will definitely use her again. Apollo was worn out the whole next day from getting to play with all his new friends. You would not regret using Brandi as your pet sitter. Apollo was treated just like family. He now has a new Auntie Brandi in his life. Added bonus for us she is in our neighborhood and Apollo can take a walk to visit. Thank you so much again for taking the best care of our sweet baby boy.

Our Izzy is a returning guest with Mindy & Daniel, who are always terrific at caring for her and communicating with us via updates/photos. This time our girl had a new diet regimen, some meds, plus noisy July 4th -- M & D handled it all with aplomb. We had real peace of mind knowing she was getting professional boarding and lots of love, too.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OR ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
