“Serena did an amazing job with my old lady cat. She gave her a bunch of love, cuddles and sent pictures. She was flexible with her time and her communication was excellent!”

“Melissa was absolutely amazing! She went above and beyond while caring for our cats and made us feel so comfortable knowing they were in such great hands. She was attentive, reliable, communicative, and clearly went the extra mile to make sure everything was taken care of. We couldn’t have asked for a better cat sitter and would absolutely recommend her to anyone!”

“Holly took care of our cat on rather short notice over a long holiday weekend and we're grateful for her service. She was attentive to Molloy's various feline idiosyncracies and kept us updated throughout for our peace of mind. Highly recommend!”

“My dog Lucy loved Jade. She came over 3-4 times a week, walked, and hung out with Lucy. Jade was great and Lucy looked forward to seeing her. I would still be using Jade if I didn’t move, but would use her again if I go back. Cannot say enough good things about Jade and how great she was with my dog.”

“Tiana goes above and beyond- making sure my home is clean when I return. Paying attention to what my Cleo loves- opening windows to listen to the birds, finding new ways to engage her in play, giving plenty of affection. As someone who missed her cat while traveling, it’s a great comfort to know she’s being cared for so lovingly”

“it was zola's third or fourth time working with mindy and daniel and she had a great time! they are 100% reliable, sensitive to the dog's needs and moods, and keep her engaged. highly recommended rovers.”

“Kathleen was wonderful with our three cats. As per usual with cats, each is a little peculiar. Kathleen adjusted to each cat easily. Clearly an animal person! Made amazing progress with our shyest scaredy-est cat. The social one was spunky and happy when we got home thanks to Kathleen giving her the play and attention that she needed while we were gone. And the feral one got fed so he was happy too.”

About: I have experience with dogs of all ages, sizes, and breads. I have recent experience in caring for elderly, disabled, and incontinent dogs. I love all dogs, young, old, grumpy, playful! I’d love to learn what your animal loves to do the most! I am a special needs childcare provider. I have lots of spare time when school is in. When I thought about how to spend my free time now that I no longer have my own dog, spending time with other people’s dogs sounded like the next best thing and getting to help people with travel plans or busy schedules stress less about their pets getting what they need is a great bonus! I love to follow instructions. If you leave me a list, I will follow it! Whatever your animal needs, I will do my best to provide!
“Melinda has a gift. Our dog is very shy and he took to her right away. She sent us a pic of her playing with our kitten. Melinda is a warm, gentle person and we felt very confident leaving our pets in her care. We will be having her sit for us frequently in the future.”

About: I have been taking care of animals since I was a kid and I have a dog and cat of my own that I care deeply for. I have looked after pets that range from puppies to seniors. I am attentive to the needs of pets and I look forward to providing care for your fuzzy friends! I am a college student with a light schedule so I have lots of availability to spend taking care of your animals! Mornings and afternoons are generally pretty free. When caring for pets in their own home, I make sure to respect your space and follow your instructions exactly. I maintain their regular routine for feeding, walking, and any medications, and I send regular updates with photos so you always know how they’re doing. I aim to keep your pet relaxed and stress free while you're away!
“We had some last minute needs and Alyssa was able to help us. She was great and really took care of our pups! We defnitely plan on rebooking in the future. Thank you!”

“This is the first time I have used Avery for the sitting of my two cats Ozzy and Luke. Avery came into my life at a time where I had Medical concerns that needed by full attention and to know that my boys were taken care of twice a day and with the utmost care meant everything to me. She even did little tasks around the house that kept my home running when I was not there to oversee it. In my mind she went above and beyond. You cannot go wrong with choosing Avery and she is very conscientious caring and responsible! I have ended up moving away and may not see much of her going forward but I think we will be staying close friends now and into the future! She's that kind of person! Thank you Avery!”

“Allison was great! I would definitely book her again in the future. She came to our house to take care of our two kitties while we went on vacation. Kitties were happy and healthy when we returned. And our apartment was well cared for. Allison also communicated great with us during the trip and was very accommodating.”

“Mark took great care of our dogs while we took a quick weekend trip. They got to stay in the comfort of their own home while he checked in on them. Our dogs seemed to really like Mark and we look forward to using him again! ”

Melissa is prompt, personable and very good with my puppy. She always sends pictures and describes the interactions had during the drop in. She is willing to adjust to individual plans, training for my pup, and a very kind human. She is very responsive and willing to go above and beyond. I would trust her with any animal!

Mindy and Dan are the best! They took care of my kitty and my plants for 10 full days during a heat wave and I came home to a happy cat and my plants are all doing great. Very responsible and nice people who let me know how my kitty was with each visit and sent me the cutest photos. Highly recommend choosing them to care for your critters!

Claire took amazing care of high needs Nolan pup! Nolan’s a rescue that I recently adopted and he has separation anxiety and panics when I leave him. I was able to go out of town, knowing he was in safe and caring hands with Claire. She sent daily updates with pics and videos. You can’t go wrong having her care for your crew!

We had our second drop in with Heather that went so great!! Oliver and Bailey have warmed up to her so quickly and love seeing her. They are always so happy in all of the videos and pictures that are sent and are so happy when we get back home. Cant express how thankful I am to have found Heather 😊 looking forward to future visits!

Chelsea was such a thoughtful and caring pet sitter for my anxious scaredy cat. I really appreciated Chelsea’s attention to detail and great communication. Chelsea gave my cat medicine and made sure all her needs were met! Chelsea was awesome & would definitely rebook!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
