“Makensie was superior with our 4 cats and 2 strays outside that come daily for a feeding. She was thorough and was here at same time everyday and was great with her review card and pics!”

“Holly is wonderful! This was our first time having a cat sitter drop in and she made the whole process easy. Our cats were well taken care of and happy. I loved the daily photos and updates! It was such a relief to know they were in their own space and not stressed. Holly took care of everything! We will absolutely continue hiring her to look after our kitties.”

“Tiana was great with our big scaredy cat! He’s hesitant with strangers but warmed up to her quickly and let her pet him. She sent sweet updates and photos daily. Couldn’t ask for more!”

“Our dog was so comfortable with josh, normally it takes her longer to warm up to strangers. He knows how to interact with anxious dogs, and we are so looking forward to rebooking josh!”
“Shad is a responsible & kind dogsitter who takes time to make sure our dog is comfortable & gets some enrichment for the day while we are away. Highly recommend!”

“Trey has watched my cats several times before joining Rover and continues to do so now. He follows instructions well and my cats LOVE him! I can count on him to show up when Im away even on last minute requests.”

“She was incredibly friendly and reassuring when she came for the intake. Our cat is a shy girl, so seeing pictures of Serena petting her and her eating is so amazing. We came home, and it was like we never left. Definitely coming to her again!”

“I get great communication from Jade! She sends cute pics and is super aware of my dog and the environment. She even noticed when there was some torn paper on the ground and made sure to tell me incase my dog ate it. Marli seems to adore Jade from what I can see on the dog camera.”

About: As a dog dad and lifelong animal lover, I understand that every pet has their own personality, routine, and needs. I’m patient, attentive, and treat every animal like they’re part of the family. I’m comfortable caring for dogs of different ages and energy levels, including puppies, seniors, and pets who need a little extra patience and attention. I’ll make sure your pets feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away, while keeping their normal routines as consistent as possible. Whether that means playtime and long walks, cuddles on the couch, or simply giving them space to relax, I’m happy to meet them where they’re at. 🐾 I’m a recent graduate of Lewis & Clark College and currently pursuing professional opportunities while continuing to train and play basketball. My training schedule gives me plenty of flexibility throughout the day, so pet care fits naturally into my routine. I’m able to give pets plenty of attention, walks, playtime, and companionship rather than leaving them alone for long periods. I’m also flexible with different schedules and happy to work around your pet’s specific routine and needs. prioritize safety, trust, and making sure every pet feels comfortable in their environment. As a dog dad, I understand how important it is to know your pet is in good hands. I’m attentive to doors, gates, leashes, and surroundings, and I always follow the routines and instructions you provide. In your home, I’ll treat your space with the same respect I’d want someone to show mine. I’ll keep your pet’s environment clean, secure, and comfortable, while giving them plenty of attention, exercise, and companionship. My goal is for you to feel completely at ease knowing your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away.

“We hired Jasper & Jaydon for house sitting as well as drop in visits for our pup and two cats. They were communicative, timely, respectful, and had quick response time. They sent photos and updates frequently, which brought great comfort to me. I would strongly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable pet care. We hope to have them be our sitter for a long time coming!”

“Kathleen was wonderful with our three cats. As per usual with cats, each is a little peculiar. Kathleen adjusted to each cat easily. Clearly an animal person! Made amazing progress with our shyest scaredy-est cat. The social one was spunky and happy when we got home thanks to Kathleen giving her the play and attention that she needed while we were gone. And the feral one got fed so he was happy too.”

“Alison took great care of our two kitties while on vacation! She was easy to communicate with and went above and beyond. We will definitely be booking her again and refer her as well.”
“Alyssa was incredible! We had to leave the state for an interview about 24 hours after my cat had a dental cleaning-and inadvertently 7 teeth pulled. I felt horrible leaving Alyssa to deal with medication and a post anesthesia kitty, Alyssa did an amazing job of making me feel comfortable leaving my cat in her hands. She was quick to ask questions, send pictures and updates. I am so grateful Alyssa was available and capable of handling my littlest fur creature. Would book again in a heartbeat.”

“Helena was great! She was very communicative and kept me up to date on my cats. She even went above and beyond and dropped in an extra time as well as bringing a package I received up to my apartment for me! Will definitely use her again the next time I need a sitter.”

About: I've always cared for cats and dogs, but for the past 8 yrs, I've focused on caring for my own senior and special needs cats and dogs who were/ are blind, had mobility issues, needed special medications and treatments, and animals that suffer anxiety and need extra love and attention. Making sure your pet has time to stretch their legs, get some fresh air, is given love and attention, and adhering to any special requests is my priority as your pet walker (and definitely lots of belly rubs or booty scratches!). Because I've taken care of special needs animals, I can provide a dog stroller or dog sling in the event they suffer from arthritis, other mobility issues, or maybe love to be carried during a walk. I make sure to take extra care while walking pets. Having walked blind, disabled, and high anxiety dogs, I take extra care to monitor the surrounding areas for potential dangers such as traffic, harmful debris, loose dogs, and even pavement/ land conditions that might hurt their paws (hot sidewalks are no joke). I currently work from home Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. On Sundays, I have plenty of time to stop in and give your pet some TLC. Your dog's safety is my first priority. Aside from keeping a close eye out for potential issues (loose dogs, loose children, loud trucks, traffic), I also keep an eye out and will let you know if I see anything that could potentially be an issue (a sudden limp, stool quality, reactions to certain stimulus). I also make sure to avoid or reduce exposure to already known trigger points (other dogs or overly trafficked areas).

“We rebooked Lea because we were so happy with her care and communication when she watched Aria. She sends tons of pictures and her Rover Cards are always thorough and fun to read. She is responsible and loves animals. We feel extremely comforted when Lea is dropping in on our puppy. She’s always on time and follows care instructions exactly.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Maywood Park
Barbara is dependable and nurturing, always communicates well, and our kitties just adore her. Even after a year has passed, they perk right up when she arrives and they compete for her attention. We are so very grateful for her attentive care of our critters!

Kathleen was great to work with. I hadn’t used Rover before and she explained the process and helped me feel comfortable about leaving my cats. Her care of them was consistent, and the pictures she provided helped ease my mind while I was away. I appreciated the attention and care she gave them and would love to use her again!

John did a great job taking care of my cats while I was away. He sent lots of photos, which was great for peace of mind. My cats are pretty nervous, especially with new people, and he got them out from under the bed and playing with him in no time. They were clearly happy when we got back from our trip.
Claire took amazing care of high needs Nolan pup! Nolan’s a rescue that I recently adopted and he has separation anxiety and panics when I leave him. I was able to go out of town, knowing he was in safe and caring hands with Claire. She sent daily updates with pics and videos. You can’t go wrong having her care for your crew!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
