“We had an excellent experience with Serena! She is communicative and caring. She was on-time for check-ins, followed care instructions, and gave us all the info we needed to feel at ease while leaving our dog. Will absolutely be using again!”

“Josh came 3x/week for 2 years to let our dogs out while we were at work. He’s very reliable, takes good care of the pups and takes great pictures. Our dog Maggie even seemed to miss him on a week that we didn’t need him. Would highly recommend him to anyone needing a quality, reliable dog sitter! We’ve moved to a new town and we’re going to have a hard time finding someone to fill his shoes. Thanks for all you’ve done Josh!”

“Niki is everything I could want in a cat sitter: friendly, responsive, flexible, reliable. They made themselves available to fill in for a sitter who canceled on short notice and even stopped by for a quick meet 'n' greet before I left town. They made sure our cat got his meds and sent cute pics. ❤️”

“I had a great experience with Holly. She took excellent care of my cats with one hour daily check ins while I was gone for a four day weekend. Holly did a thorough meet and greet before I left, kept me updated with messages and photos, and catered to my cats' with their favorite games and pets during playtime. Thanks Holly!”

“Tiana was great with our big scaredy cat! He’s hesitant with strangers but warmed up to her quickly and let her pet him. She sent sweet updates and photos daily. Couldn’t ask for more!”

“Shad is a responsible & kind dogsitter who takes time to make sure our dog is comfortable & gets some enrichment for the day while we are away. Highly recommend!”

“Makenzie has done a fantastic job with our two dogs. We were looking for someone reliable to come over on certain evenings, and she has been that for us. She plays ball with our younger high-energy dog in the backyard to wear him out, and the dogs are fast asleep when we get home! Plus, she takes a ton of great pictures. We will be using her services regularly. Thank you, Makenzie!”

“My cat was so well cared for that I don’t think he noticed I was gone for over a eeek! In addition to maintaining his food and water, Mindy and Daniel kept the litter box clean and dealt with an ant invasion in my kitchen! Mindy and my cat are now BFF’s!”

“I get great communication from Jade! She sends cute pics and is super aware of my dog and the environment. She even noticed when there was some torn paper on the ground and made sure to tell me incase my dog ate it. Marli seems to adore Jade from what I can see on the dog camera.”

“Mary was amazing! This was the first time she did a drop in for my kitty - she showed up right on time and did everything I asked her to! Finding a trustworthy sitter can be hard so I’m happy to have found her and I know my cat feels the same. Would definitely love to have Mary check in on my girl again 10/10 highly recommend. Thank you!!😊”

“Melinda has a gift. Our dog is very shy and he took to her right away. She sent us a pic of her playing with our kitten. Melinda is a warm, gentle person and we felt very confident leaving our pets in her care. We will be having her sit for us frequently in the future.”

“Orion is the best! We needed to adjust our dates and they were totally flexible...our dogs absolutely loved them and the photos were so fun! Already looking at dates to have them back!”
“Alyssa was incredible! We had to leave the state for an interview about 24 hours after my cat had a dental cleaning-and inadvertently 7 teeth pulled. I felt horrible leaving Alyssa to deal with medication and a post anesthesia kitty, Alyssa did an amazing job of making me feel comfortable leaving my cat in her hands. She was quick to ask questions, send pictures and updates. I am so grateful Alyssa was available and capable of handling my littlest fur creature. Would book again in a heartbeat.”

“Was first time away from my cats since I got them 2 yrs ago, so was a little apprehensive. Read reviews for Allison and decided to give her a try. So glad I did. She kept in contact with me and provided pictures of the cats. They warmed right up to her which was awesome. Came home to 2 very happy kitties. Highly recommend Allison and a hearty thank you to her.”

“Mark took great care of our two boys in our home. It was our first attempt to leave them in somone elses care. Mark made me and the dog feel at ease. We will definitly use Mark again and reccomend him to friends.”

We had our second drop in with Heather that went so great!! Oliver and Bailey have warmed up to her so quickly and love seeing her. They are always so happy in all of the videos and pictures that are sent and are so happy when we get back home. Cant express how thankful I am to have found Heather 😊 looking forward to future visits!

Mary was an incredible sitter for our two cats; one 5-year-old and one 3-month-old. She was responsive, on-time, and always gave detailed notes and photos with each visit. We felt at ease while we were away and will definitely be booking with her again in the future!

Chelsea was such a thoughtful and caring pet sitter for my anxious scaredy cat. I really appreciated Chelsea’s attention to detail and great communication. Chelsea gave my cat medicine and made sure all her needs were met! Chelsea was awesome & would definitely rebook!

Claire was fantastic! She spent plenty of quality time with my cats, played with them during every visit, and made sure everything was left clean and in great condition. She was also very communicative and always sent lots of photos and updates, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. I could tell my cats were well cared for and happy. I would absolutely book her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring cat sitter!

Melibea took great care of our husky Echo and was thoughtful throughout his stay. He did have an accident upstairs when we got home, but she let me know she had even stayed out longer trying to give him every chance to poop before bringing him back inside. We loved the little details she shared, like playing peek-a-boo behind the tree at the park to see if he was paying attention and would come looking for her. I really appreciated her communication, updates, and the genuine care she showed Echo. Would book again for sure!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
