“Angie did a wonderful job with our playful pup, Tillie. We received great updates daily and Tillie seemed right at home while we were away. Angie took her for some adventures and hikes and she also got lots of snuggles too. Angie provided a great vacation for Tillie while we were away, and we love that. Thanks, Angie!”

“Paul and Arnel were the best hosts! They were excellent communicators, sent us tons of pics of our boy, and did so many fun things with him. It really felt like they made him part of their family. I would highly recommend them to any pup parent.”

“Kristen did a wonderful job watching our dog. I love that she sends daily updates and pictures. We always feel comfortable having Kristen watch our pup. Thanks Kristen!”

“Our Tobi is a rescue who was abused and has awful separation anxiety. He has never been away from us for more than two days. I was a bit nervous in leaving him for so long. His 10 day stay was a time of doggy socialization and good care. Michelle sent us many photos to show how he was doing. We have now found someone we can leave Tobi with in the future.”

“We had a wonderful experience with Emily. Coconut was comfortable very quickly, which was a relief. Emily also sent us immediate feedback so we could start our vacation worry-free. We got lots and lots of pictures - so fun to see Coconut zooming around the yard or crashed out on Bowie's bed. Also- I made a mistake on the booking dates, paying for one extra night, and Emily caught the mistake and fixed it immediately. This was my best experience with Rover yet. If she's available, I wouldn't use anyone else!”

“I boarded my doggies for the first time and was nervous, but Kristopher made it so easy . He was so kind and made me feel comfortable leaving my dogs with him . Knowing my pets were safe and in good care made my trip a lot easier . I would definitely leave my dogs in his care again. Thank you Kristopher 🤗”

“Rhonda was lovely! She watched our aussie for 4 nights ~ I received pictures, videos, & great communication our whole trip. We rarely leave, so it takes him time to warm up to people & he cuddled her every night! He also has some "special" things with his food which she was happy to do. So grateful to have found our petsitter!”

“Shasta took care of my dog Finn while I was on an extended trip. He has pretty bad separation anxiety and hates to be alone, she and her family provided him a safe place where he always had someone with him. It made it easier for him and helped me have peace of mind knowing he wasn’t stressed. 💜”

“Allison loved on Presley like she was hers and sent me updates and pictures throughout the weekend. She took her on little walks/hikes/adventures and was great with her!”

“My dog had a blast staying with Pam! She was so sweet with him, and between that and her huge backyard, I could tell that my dog would miss his stay with her. She was communicative and sent pictures throughout his boarding, and I look forward to booking with her again. Thanks Pam!”

“This is our second time using Emily and Eric. They always go above and beyond to make our pup comfortable and send lots of pictures and keep us updated. They are incredibly friendly and we always know that our pup will be well taken care of when we drop him off. Highly recommend!”

“Jared’s experience being a vet tech really shows. He’s communicated daily throughout the stay, and our puppy (who’s usually destructive) was calm and entertained the entire time. Looking forward to the next stay with him”

“Jennifer was great with my 3 dogs who have never been boarded at someone else’s house and two of them were a little nervous. They came around in no time, had the choice of sleeping with her if they wanted to, lots of room to play, and got along great with her dogs. We’ll definitely be back.”

“We boarded Zeke with Mackenzie while we went camping. Zeke got so much love during his stay, slept on the couch with her son, made new friends with lots of play time. Mackenzie sent us pics and updates. Zeke was exhausted when we got home, too much activity. Lol. Will definately book Mackenzie for future needs. Thank you so much!!”

“Gayle took care of my dog with love and care, making sure she had the chance to do her favorite thing (fetch!) and keeping me updated along the way. I could tell by the details and photos Gayle was sharing that my dog felt comfortable even though it was her first time. It was very helpful to have had a meet & greet before booking to help get established and questions answered. Thank you Gayle & Michael!”

“Hayleigh took good care of Enigma for 19 days. She’s very happy that she has playmates at Hayleighs and a yard to roam around. We’ll definitely be back at her place next time we need dog boarding.”

Michelle was amazing! She sent me updates with pictures daily (sometimes more) and I could see how much my Lola was enjoying her time there. Our flight was delayed several times and finally canceled and Michelle told me not to worry and that Lola would be taken care of until we were finally able to make it home. What a relief it was knowing she was being well cared for! I will definitely be using Michelle again!

Kimberly took wonderful care of our dogs while we were away. She was thoughtful, dependable, and kept us updated every day with photos and messages, which we really appreciated. They looked very comfortable and well cared for with her. We came home to two happy dogs, and we’d absolutely trust Kimberly to watch them again. Highly recommend!

Amanda and Josh were so wonderful with our dog, and their dog Rosie is such a great playmate! I received lots of updates. Amanda was in tune to my dog’s personality and activity needs, taking plenty of walks, and giving all the snuggles and support while we were away.

This was my first time using rover and I was a bit nervous leaving my dogs with someone that I didn’t know but Bobby and Linda made me feel very confident in their ability’s to take care of our dogs. They gave great updates with pictures and notes on what they did that day. I will recommend them to others and use them again in the future.

Tracy and her family were so great with our pup but even more so they were very understanding when our plans unexpectedly changed due to a family emergency. She stayed very communicative and helpful throughout the whole process. Thank you, Tracy! It was so nice knowing Luna was in good hands while we navigated our situation.

Rhonda was lovely! She watched our aussie for 4 nights ~ I received pictures, videos, & great communication our whole trip. We rarely leave, so it takes him time to warm up to people & he cuddled her every night! He also has some "special" things with his food which she was happy to do. So grateful to have found our petsitter!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OR ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
