“Sarah was a great sitter for my dog Rosie. Rosie was so excited to come back every morning for daycare, and Rosie and Ellie were fast friends. We will definitely book with Sarah again in the future!”

“Debbie has watched Milo many times for me and I feel comfortable and confident every time I drop him off. She takes great care of him and every photo I get it looks like Milo is having a great time! Any and every time I'm in the Vancouver area I send Milo to her ❤️❤️”

“Took excellent care of my high energy puppy, provided lots of pictures and videos of him happily playing in the yard, prompt and communicative. Couldn't have asked for a better person to trust with my kiddo for the weekend”
“Storm takes a bit of time to get comfortable in new environments with new people, but she seemed to settle in easily with Gil and Peaches! We are so thankful they are patient with her separation anxiety and welcome her on daycare days!”

“Jared was an excellent sitter! Both my Papillons seemed to have a great time with Jared, Bartholomew, and their cats. Communication was smooth and timely throughout. I would be happy to bring my furry babies to Jared again. Highly recommended!”

“Frank enjoys spending his time with Don (and Hunter) very much. He gets excited when we pull up to the house, because he knows he's in for a day of fun and VIP treatment. I highly recommend Don and Melodie for both Daycare and Boarding.”

“Jennifer and her husband were great. They are conveniently located by the freeway and right next to a Banfield Vet which my dogs go to. She sent me pictures during the day and my dogs were exhausted by the time I picked them up from playing with her dogs. I'll definitely be using Jennifer again when I'm in the area.”

“Emily & Eric took great care of our pups while we were visiting from out of town for a family Christmas party. We appreciate them being so accommodating with the festivities ending a little later than expected. Our fur babies were obviously very comfortable in their home because they are so calm in their crates in the car at the moment. We will definitely leave our girls with Emily and Eric again when we are back in Vancouver!”

“Another wonderful visit at Dawn's house. She has so much fun with Dawn's daughter and their two dogs. It's a mini vacation for Maggie when she is with them. Couldn't find a better place for her when we are away.”

“There is only 1 thing I can say about Alexa and how she takes care of our boxer and that is "Amazing*. She is very good at sending us updates and pictures. She walks him multiple times a day. He is always worn out when he gets home.”

“Phoenix and Ollie love coming over for the day! They love the back yard and phoenix loves all the toys he can get his paws on! Matt and his wife are super sweet and the boys love going over!”

“Tyson had the best day! Heath is kind, friendly and natural with dogs. They were very easy to schedule with and great communication. Tyson can’t wait to come back.”

“Emily was amazing with my rambunctious 4 mo old puppy. She was so flexible when I had something come up and I had to pick him up late. She's even showed me some basic grooming tips! Do not sleep on her! We will definitely be booking again.”

“We are new to the state, and were searching for a reputable dog sitter. Within the first 15 minutes of meeting Shell, I knew our pups would be in good hands. Shell is knowledgable, always striving to learn more about care of dogs, full of useful info that she shares openly and often. She is cognizant of the need to keep small pups and large in different areas when necessary. She's working on my youngest Chihuahua to help socialize her--as she's very shy and untrusting. Put aside her long history of caring for dogs, she's just a good human being, and I enjoy her company when I stop by. After a couple of times of daycare for my pups, I am confident about leaving my pups for a longer peiod of time. A vacation with my husband is beginning to look possible! :)”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Vancouver
Marjorie was great. She helped me out in a pinch and we did do an initial meet and greet. It’s always nice to find somebody that will take your pet on a weekend for a few hours. Bella seemed like she adjusted well. I will definitely use Marjorie again when I’m visiting Vancouver, Washington. Parking is easy and she lives in a court and is located between Vancouver mall and Hazel Dell so very convenient

Debbie has watched Milo many times for me and I feel comfortable and confident every time I drop him off. She takes great care of him and every photo I get it looks like Milo is having a great time! Any and every time I'm in the Vancouver area I send Milo to her ❤️❤️

Moira took excellent care of my dog! She made sure he had time to adjust, and gave him plenty of attention. Her communication was exceptional as well, and she sent plenty of updates. She's definitely passionate about animals, and will do everything she can to ensure your pet is well cared for!

Madelyn took such wonderful care of my senior dog, Charlie, and I couldn’t be more grateful. Charlie can’t be left alone for long periods anymore, and Madelyn was incredibly attentive to her needs. She made sure she got multiple walks, lots of care, and all the attention she requires at this stage of her life. She was also very communicative throughout, sending regular updates that gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. I really appreciated that she took the time to do a longer meet and greet beforehand. It showed how thoughtful and thorough she is. It’s clear that Madelyn has a compassionate soul and genuinely cares about the animals she looks after. I would absolutely trust her again and plan to book with her in the future. Highly recommend!

Rocky had such a good time with Caitlin that he charged into her arms on the second day of his 2-day sit. I would definitely recommend Caitlin for her loving personality and responsible nature with our special furry friends. Thanks Caitlin for taking Rock and helping me out during my work trip!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Vancouver commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
