Shadie took care of my 6 month old golden retriever puppy, who is a bundle of energy, for a day. He came home happy and tired out. Shadie is very responsive to texts and has been a pleasure to work with. I feel extremely comfortable leaving our puppy with her.

About: I have availability 24/7 to care! Even as a kid, I’m the one who spent the most time with our pets! Will follow your example instructions just how you want! I’m currently not working, so I have all the time to take care of your pet. No schedule conflicts, so you don’t have to worry :) I have a small place, without much to do outside. But there’s a park less than 3 minutes away for walks. There are stairs to my place as I live on the second floor

About: What dogs love about spending time with us: 1) They have a sense of comfort & trust. I am always attentive with them, since I work from home and have worked in (human) emergency rooms and psychiatric facilities so handle chaos well. 2) My lifestyle is flexible based on what they prefer (long walks or relaxing) and they usually have 2 people available 3) my apartment faces S/SE and gets sun throughout the day. Dogs seem to LOVE sunbathing. 4) I am close to downtown parks and 3 blocks from the new section of the waterfront. Giving them a variety of smells each day. 5) For you - I’m a decent photographer and enjoy getting shots that showcase your dog’s unique personality Specific experience: terriers, Maltese, shih tzu, poodles, spaniels. High energy dogs needing exercise as well as dogs with a lot of various anxieties & prefer being with someone all day. Senior dogs and puppies (outside of newborns). While there are no other animals currently in my home, I have had my own dogs for nearly twenty years and been around various small and medium/large dogs for over a decade. I enjoy taking care of dogs, walking, playing, feeding, and bathing. I even trim my parent's dogs hair. I live in a one bedroom apartment so likely a better fit for small to medium dogs. If you need a recurring service would love to build a relationship with your dog so he feels comfortable visiting someone he knows. Reach out for any questions! My partner and I work from home and do not have pets, so I would love to spend time with them! At least one of us is home most of the time. If we leave it’s for a couple hours at a time, max. And are open to bring the dog if it’s not hot. I live in an apartment and do not have any pets. I would be able to visit homes or other apartments to care for pets.I am able to spend a lot of them with them and walk them around the neighborhood or park depending on their energy level. They will receive a lot of love!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Jared is exceptional. Jared took wonderful care of my two dogs, Sebastian and Francesca, and I couldn’t be more grateful. From the moment we connected, his communication was clear, thoughtful, and reassuring. He was attentive to their needs, patient, and genuinely kind, exactly the kind of person you hope to find when trusting someone with your fur babies. Sebastian and Francesca were happy, calm, and clearly well cared for when I picked them up, which speaks volumes. It’s obvious Jared takes his role seriously and treats animals with real respect and care, not just as a job but as a responsibility. I would absolutely trust him again without hesitation and highly recommend him to anyone looking for reliable, compassionate, top-tier pet care. Thank you, Jared🌹you truly went above and beyond.

We are visiting family in Vancouver from out of town. What a fantastic home and yard. Nellie loves staying with you and all of her furry new friends. On our second day for doggie Day care, Nellie was so excited to come over and see you both and the nice dogs you are caring for too. We had many photos and communication ⭐️ We booked two overnight stays for next weekend. It is very comforting knowing that we can contact this nice couple through Rover when we visit family and our Nellie will be well cared for and having a great time too. Highly recommend

Tricia is kind and sweet and very patient. My little boy dog doesn’t take to most people because he’s an abused rescue so he has trust issues. He immediately liked Tricia! He allowed her to hold him and even gave her a kiss at our meet and greet. We knew she was the one for him. Tricia watched him for the day and the pictures she sent showed us how content he was in her home. We have already booked a 13 day stay while we go on a cruise. We feel confident that Tricia will take excellent care of our dog. That will enable us to enjoy our cruise all the more since we won’t have to worry about Izzy.

Madelyn took such wonderful care of my senior dog, Charlie, and I couldn’t be more grateful. Charlie can’t be left alone for long periods anymore, and Madelyn was incredibly attentive to her needs. She made sure she got multiple walks, lots of care, and all the attention she requires at this stage of her life. She was also very communicative throughout, sending regular updates that gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. I really appreciated that she took the time to do a longer meet and greet beforehand. It showed how thoughtful and thorough she is. It’s clear that Madelyn has a compassionate soul and genuinely cares about the animals she looks after. I would absolutely trust her again and plan to book with her in the future. Highly recommend!

Frances was so amazing she went above and beyond for us, she came and picked up Dolly to work with our schedules. She also took her on a walk and then later to the dog park. Just when I would wonder how they are doing she would shoot me a video or a picture to let me know how their day was going. I would 100% recommend Frances to friends and family who love their pets and need a reliable human to care for them. Francis next time we are in need you will be my 1st call!!!!!! Thank you so much! Side notes~Great communication, her home is lovely and clean.

FAQs for Doggy Day Care - Vancouver

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Doggy Day Care in Vancouver on Rover is $38.85 per day (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Doggy Day Care easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Doggy Day Care. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 1,831 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Vancouver. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Vancouver commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 1,831 sitters in Vancouver, 89% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
