Shadie is just wonderful! She agreed to watch my dog for a day while we went out of town. My pup had such a blast. She played all day long with another dog Shadie was sitting. Of course I am thrilled about that and we will have to coordinate a playdate next time!

Another amazing stay at Shell’s. I can never express how much her and her son have done for me and my fur baby. Shell met me halfway so I didn’t have to drive the entire 45 minutes and be late for work. Not only did she agree to meet me at a midway point, it was also last minute which I can’t express how grateful I am. My puppy had an amazing time and always comes back exhausted after having lots of playtime and treats as well as playing with her best friend Ranger. Shell sends me constant updates of how my baby is doing so I never have to worry about if she needs anything and they never complain even after Honey poops on their freshly cleaned carpets :). Their family treats me like their own and always offers me a bowl of Cheerios after a long day at work. They are the most amazing sitters and I can’t express my love and gratitude for them enough. Please, if you need a dog sitter don’t hesitate to book Shell, she will take the most amazing care of your pets and you and is the best in the market. She truly is a special kind of human that you don’t come around to often and has such a pure soul.

Maryorie was friendly and great with communication. It was my first rover experience and it was nice to get a picture update after drop off and report about how he did at the end of the day. I appreciate how she did a meet and greet before hand to ensure my dog and her dogs would get along and so that we could get to know her. Looking forward to booking with her again!

About: My husband and I are life-long dog owners and dog lovers. We have an active lifestyle and can give your dog lots of attention and activity. I work part time from home and my husband works from home, so at least one of us is always here for potty breaks and mid-day walks and playtime. I love to run during the week and hike on weekends and would be happy to bring your dog along. We have a fenced yard and plenty of space in our home. Our 2 year old Weimaraner is extremely friendly and playful. We also have two daughters that adore dogs and will give lots of pets and cuddles.

About: I have been around animals since I was quite young. I raised and competitively showed horses my entire life. I had many jobs as a barn manager, taking care of horses and farm animals, chickens, goats, sheep, llamas, cows, cats, donkeys, mules, turkeys, pigs as well as all the farm dogs. I worked as an equine veterinary technician for 11 years. I’ve raised mastiff puppies for several years. My kids and I are becoming more involved with our local 4h group with our mini aussies. There’s not many animals I haven’t had the privilege of working with. I am a para educator at a local elementary school so I have my summers off and I am really excited to have that availability to work with animals. Working for the school district gives me the unique flexibility to be available all day every day through September. Please see my schedule as I tend to book up quickly. I have the privilege of being home 24 seven which means if your pet stays with me I am home all the time. I lead a pretty active life and really enjoy hiking and going swimming at the river and lake, so your pet would have lots of outdoor time pending your approval.

Emily & Eric took great care of our pups while we were visiting from out of town for a family Christmas party. We appreciate them being so accommodating with the festivities ending a little later than expected. Our fur babies were obviously very comfortable in their home because they are so calm in their crates in the car at the moment. We will definitely leave our girls with Emily and Eric again when we are back in Vancouver!

Will be returning to James dog services in the future and referring to friends/family. Thank you James.

James and Regina are amazing!!! They kept me informed if Thomas missed us and sent us pictures throughout his stay. He was in very good hands and we felt so comfortable having him stay with them that we were able to get our house completely packed up (w movers) and cleaned without worrying or stressing our baby more then needed. Thank you both. I’m sure when we come back to town, we will let you know. ?

Shell’s doggie daycare is great! She hosts smaller groups than the corporate doggie daycares which is less overstimulating and is safer. She sends lots of videos and photos which is great. My dog has a great time with her.

James has been taking care of my very high energy Jack Russell Terrier for several days now while I work and my request to him was very last minute. I had never used him before and he was gracious concerning my needs and has been really great with my pup making sure she got the exercise she needed and play time as well. I highly recommend James for the care of your fur-baby.

We are so appreciative for Danny and Maria. Super loving, kind, and amazing people with our anxious babies. They communicate super well, responsive, and very honest. Our babies are both rescue dogs with lots to work with. Both Danny and Maria were above and beyond to work with their needs and super patient with them. Thank you so much for everything, Maria and Danny!!

Frances was so amazing she went above and beyond for us, she came and picked up Dolly to work with our schedules. She also took her on a walk and then later to the dog park. Just when I would wonder how they are doing she would shoot me a video or a picture to let me know how their day was going. I would 100% recommend Frances to friends and family who love their pets and need a reliable human to care for them. Francis next time we are in need you will be my 1st call!!!!!! Thank you so much! Side notes~Great communication, her home is lovely and clean.

FAQs for Doggy Day Care - Lake Shore

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Doggy Day Care in Lake Shore on Rover is $25.53 per day (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Doggy Day Care easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Doggy Day Care. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 1,823 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Lake Shore. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Lake Shore commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 1,823 sitters in Lake Shore, 89% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
