“Natalee is a sweetheart and seemed very comfortable with my 160 pound boy. Natalee communicates very well and gets right back to you with a pleasant attitude. Thanks Natalie!”

“Felicia has been so amazing! She covered for me on short notice and she has been wonderful with my older dog who can be reactive and crotchety. She’s also very sweet with my two kitties and good on updating me on everything going on with my fur babies. Highly recommend!”

“Kathryn was great with our 9 month old puppy! We needed someone last minute to walk Theo and she was very responsive and professional. She came over the night before to introduce herself and meet him. She took great care of him on his walk and even went above and beyond to clean up a small mess he made. Will definitely book again!”

“Steele is great at communicating! My dog warmed up to him so quickly. I have a hectic work schedule and he has been so kind about being flexible to make it over for a walk/potty break.”

“Great communication, great walk for Brahm! You can tell Claire is comfortable with dogs and Brahm was comfortable with her. He's pooped out from his great walk now on the floor :).”

About: I’ve had my own personal pets all my life and believe pets are family and treat them as such. I have also take care of friends, and family pets as well. Just did house sitting with 2 Australian cattle dogs, 2 cats and 6 chickens. Currently, I do not have any pets of my own as I lost my 2 Boston terriers last year. I love animals and anyone who knows me knows me, knows this about me. I work from home full-time and I can work from anywhere that has internet. I just bring my laptop and I’m able to care for your fur kids all day :) I am especially good at cuddles all day, walks, and feeding/playing with your fur kids. My motto is animals are better than humans because they are. I love them!
“YAY! So grateful I found Elaine. I twisted my ankle and she was there helping me every day for 7 days so that I could rest. Her energy, kindness, flexibility, communication, and love of animals is so evident. I would let Elaine take care of all of my animals at any moment. I will absolutely have her walk Ginger again. And also boarding!”

About: Ever since I was little I can remember always taking care of others - people, dogs, cats and many other little creatures along the way. Now as the new season approaches and spring welcomes us, I am now looking for new work and would love to care and connect with all the fur babies in our community here in Downtown Vancouver! I have open availability between 6am and 9pm everyday! More then enough to care for your fur babies and lend a helping hand:) Thank you! I have two sassy girl cats who love their floor to ceiling cat tree and many toys they go crazy for! With sassy being said, my services will be provided in home only as Indie and Luna are very particular with who they let into their home😅
“Cassie, is amazing! Our dog gets soooo excited to see her when she comes. She has been so flexible and adaptive to our dogs needs. I know she is in good hands when we are away!!!”

“Amy was timely in her responses. She followed instructions for getting into my home and getting my pup ready for their walk. Through my doorbell camera, Amy talked kindly to my pup and remembered to put on his rain jacket. After the walk, she spent time wiping off his paws and also locked up the house how I asked. Would definitely recommend Amy to others!”

About: I have availability 24/7 to care! Even as a kid, I’m the one who spent the most time with our pets! Will follow your example instructions just how you want! I’m currently not working, so I have all the time to take care of your pet. No schedule conflicts, so you don’t have to worry :) I have a small place, without much to do outside. But there’s a park less than 3 minutes away for walks. There are stairs to my place as I live on the second floor
About: I grew up with a black lab for nearly 14 years as a child and come from a family of Labrador lovers. I now take care of my own gentle giant black lab who I got to train as a service animal myself. I also have experience with high-energy dogs and running off energy! I am very loving and passsionate person towards dogs, they love my ear and belly rubs and often love to cuddle if that's their thing! My favorite things to do with dogs is taking them for adventures to the park/forest, river/lakes and the snow during wintertime. I am no stranger to labrador breeds but also have experince with Shepard and border collie breeds the most, as well as many others here and there. I've had my fair share of sick dogs, whether it be ear infection to cancer and know the emotional roller coaster and/or hassle of giving medications and can show the dogs lots of empathy if this is something that would be needed. I always treat dogs like their my own and would want the best for your pup just like I would for my own girl! I work non-traditional hours which means I frequently have a lot of days off in a row and then work once a week with 12 hrs in one day. This means I get to spend a lot of one-on-one with my personal dog, providing lots of attention, walks to the park and even days at the river and wouldnt mind some more company from other dogs as well! I live in pet friendly Tiny home with a friendly yard to roam and play. My own dog loves to cuddle on my couch whenever and can certainly share the space with another dog. I do have a cooling mat and a separate pillow for my dog, so there is no shortage of comfy spaces. I love to cuddle with the pups when I can if that's their thing and giving them lots of attention while I care for them.
“Sydney is terrific: always on time, communicative, and otherwise professional. She handled our pup with care, and he always looked forward to his walks with her. He invariably came back with tail wagging. Couldn't recommend her enough.”

About: I have taken care of cats since I was young and for the past three years, I’ve taken care of my own puppy. I love all animals, providing for their needs, and giving them the love and attention they deserve. When I take care of them, I provide lots of photos and details of what went on during the visit to keep you updated. Your pets are safe with me! My schedule is currently very open, so I have plenty of room in my schedule to care for your fur baby and provide for their needs. If needed, I can crate your dog or keep them in a pen, whichever situation you have. I’m meticulous about making sure that there is nothing around that could harm your pet and I keep a vigilant eye.
About: I've had a lot of experiences taking care of dogs and cats the maximum number I've taken care of is 3 dogs and 2 cats at one time! I enjoy going for walks and hikes and sometimes runs. I currently have 2 dogs and a cat. Im used to walking my chocolate lab and German Shepard, pitbull mix together. My German Shepard mix has a lot of anxiety and we have been working with a dog trainer and a behavioralist to work with his reactivity as well as his anxiety. I’m very comfortable with dogs with reactivity and anxiety as well as dogs that are big jumpers. I’ve dog sat for dogs such as chihuahuas, labs, border collies, beagles, pugs, springer spaniels, German Shepard’s and mutts. I have a lot of patience for dogs that are shy and take some time to warm up. I have experience using prong collars, gentle leads, and harnesses. I also have worked with many puppies in training and would be happy to implement any training methods you are using. I also love cats and have a lot of experience with shy and timid cats as well. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I’m currently working from home with a very flexible schedule and have plenty of times available for walks and drop in visits. I have 3 pets of my own though and can’t stay overnight or do boarding at my house. If your dog enjoys playing with other dogs I’m happy to bring my lab over she is great with other dogs. I am happy to accommodate any routine your pet may have to make them more comfortable on walks and drop in visits. I’m very used to shy dogs and cats that may need a little more space as well as super energetic ones.

Felicia has been so amazing! She covered for me on short notice and she has been wonderful with my older dog who can be reactive and crotchety. She’s also very sweet with my two kitties and good on updating me on everything going on with my fur babies. Highly recommend!

I am so grateful I found Claire! She made time for a meet and greet with my pup so he could get to know her a bit before she came another day to walk him. I instantly felt comfortable with her and I could tell that Finn did too. He's an Aussie and pretty much thinks everyone is sketchy, but I was surprised at how calm he was around her. When she came by another day to walk him, she sent me photos and videos and kept me in the loop on how Finn was doing. She was so patient with him and spent extra time playing with him and letting him get to know her at his own pace. Finn had a great time and it made being away a lot easier.

Elaine was available on pretty short notice and made time for a meet and greet before coming back to walk Finn. My dog is a little hesitant of strangers, but Elaine was very patient with him without pressuring him. She sent me updates and let me know how things went. I'm sure Finn will be excited to see her next time we need help!

Steele is fantastic! He takes amazing care of Nigel and is super knowledgeable and punctual. We love that he always keeps us in the loop, whether he's sharing a quick update about how the walk went or staying on top of scheduling. I’d trust him with Nigel any day!

Zach and Janexis have been great. Frou is getting walked on a regular basis and is much happier. Great communication and they show up for every walk and have been flexible with the schedule. I greatly appreciate having people that I can trust with my dog and with my house. Highly recommend!
My dog Jasper really needed a friend for when his parents aren't around and Megan is a wonderful caring dog walker! She's is easy to book with, communicative and interested in everything Jasper! Jasper is so happy to see her and doesn't hesitate to spend time with her. Thank you Megan!

Kira was great! I’m pretty picky when it comes to who I will let in my home and care for my pet but she made it easy for me to go about my day knowing Pilot was happy and and well taken care of. I highly recommend her and I will definitely be rebooking with her for future walks and home stays when I’m on puppy free vacations.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
