“Brett was perfect for us. Maggie loved her filling in for her regular walker who was on vacation. They made lots of new dog friends and I could totally relax knowing they were safe and having fun.”

“Stella and I feel so fortunate that we have Jung as her dog walker! Finding a dog walker you can truly trust is so hard, but Jung made us feel completely at ease from the moment she stepped foot past the gate. Her vast experience and volunteer work with dogs is obvious in the way she handles Stella, paying close attention to every safety detail on their walks. Her communication is also top-notch—I always get wonderful photo updates and detailed summaries right after the walk. We couldn't ask for a more reliable, professional, and caring walker. Highly recommend Jung to any pet parent!”

About: Having grown up on a farm I have been around animals my entire life. My favorite have always been dogs and cats. I have taken animal care and vet sciences in 4H and volunteered in an animal shelter. I can't imagine life without animals, they add so much joy to life. I currently work part time as a caregiver for seniors. Most of my days are 4 to 6 hours long with weekends off. I have a flexible schedule . Since my schedule is flexible I can adjust to you pets needs well so they are being fed and walked at their regular times to help reduce stress.
About: I grew up in rural midwest with dogs, cats, and guinea pigs. I was a dedicated and loving dog mama to my beloved bernese mountain dog, Riker, for 9.5 years and I miss him very much. I enjoyed taking my boy to thousand acres, Mt. Tabor, and several other dog parks and we've gone on many hikes on the coast, in the gorge, and in Mt. Hood forest. I have special connections with my friends' animals and I've enjoyed taking their dogs for walks since my boy passed last March. I'm a fourth-year doctoral graduate student at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). I have three full days of clinic per week and fill the rest of the week with writing and research. When I'm not in clinic I can be flexible with my schedule to take your fur baby on walks, check in on them to let them out, or schedule an adventure! I respect my client’s rules, preferences, and boundaries regarding their pets. I will avoid places they’re not supposed to go, keep them on leash at all times, socially distance them if requested, and never give them treats or food unless given owner permission.
About: I grew up in rural Oregon and have owned and rehabilitated all sorts of animals! I put myself through college by becoming a dog groomer. I worked as a dog groomer for five years :) I work full time hybrid. I go in person to cover a four hour shift once a week, otherwise I work a statistics job from home. Plenty of opportunities for potty breaks for your pets :) I have worked with and owned all animals my entire life even spiders and reptiles. Anything your pet needs to feel safe and comfortable in my presence- it is my pleasure.
About: I've had dogs my entire life, so caring for them has always been a big part of who I am. I'm comfortable with dogs of all sizes, breeds, and personalities, and I enjoy getting to know what makes each one unique. I also have experience caring for senior dogs and dogs with behavioral challenges, thanks to my own now-reformed former troublemaker, Lycan, my 11-year-old Boxer. Working with him taught me the importance of patience, consistency, and understanding, and those are qualities I bring to every dog I care for. Dogs love punctuality. My dog needs three walks a day, and he is my alarm, waking me up for his walk before work with a not-so-gentle cry. My schedule often shifts to adapt to his needs, either by canceling a hike because he's not feeling it or postponing a walk because it's raining. I'm dedicated to any pets in my care. I live in an appartement. With my wife and my dog. We have a pretty spacious patio but a not so spacious appartement. So my dog gets his excercice in the nearby park and on bis weekly hikes. Our living space is safe and organized to facilitate the care for any visiting pet

About: I have taken care of cats and dogs from ages 4 months to 12 years! I like to learn each animals needs and modify my care for them! I work three days a week and keep an open schedule to care for others’ animals the other four days in the week! I have a flexible schedule and can even help on the days I am scheduled at my main job! I always ask for your preferences for your animals! Whether this includes walk length, treats and food, and even mannerisms, I always want to make sure YOU and your animals are comfortable!
“Mark was fantastic with Oso and was good at being firm but gentle. Oso seemed happy and pleasantly tired! Definitely would have Mark walk him again and would recommend Mark!”

“Mathew was so thoughtful in getting to know our pup and making sure he was well-exercised while we were away. He provided great notes and pics so I didn’t worry or wonder whether our silly pibble was behaving himself, lol. Thanks Mathew!”

“Milo is amazing! He was willing to come meet my anxious border collie before walking her, and did a phenomenal job communicating throughout the process. I would 100% recommend Milo & will definitely have him back to walk Cali soon!”

“Aaron was kind enough to walk my dog even though we are outside his preferred neighborhood. He was easy to communicate with, sent pics and stayed in touch. Thanks, Aaron!”

About: I've taken care of dogs of every kind since I was a child. My partner has also shared with me the many things they have learned from working in their mother's dog breeding business and at a company as a groomer. I have plenty of knowledge and experience and am ready to take care of your fur babies as if they were my own!! I'm currently not working at any other job than this one. This is my only source of income, so I am available all the time! I will take care of your home and pets, and bring my own needs and I will maintain the cleanliness of your home, and do as asked if there are instructions given.
“My dog is getting up in years and some days has energy and some days wants to take it slow. I can always count on Tayla to be sensitive to her needs each day and tailor her walk. I couldn’t be happier with her sensitivity and kindness to my dog.”

Jenny has been amazing! One of the top walkers we have had from Rover! She communicates and sends photos and lets us know how our dog has been. We really appreciate her care and concern for Wendy. Jenny is responsible and reliable and an excellent communicator. Wendy enjoys the walks!

Kimo is wonderful! He is kind, professional, and reliable. He does a great job of communicating quickly & working with last-minute changes when they come up. Most importantly, I feel like my pup is in good hands! He comes back happy & ready for a nap after his walks with Kimo, which is great to see for my high energy guy, who becomes anxious if he doesn’t have enough time mental & physical stimulation. Thank you, Kimo!!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
