About: I grew up in the country with many dogs in the family. My parents bred and showed champion Afghan Hounds as well as boarded other breeds of dogs. I have raised and cared for many amazing dogs, cats, horses, goats, rabbits, salamanders and a gold fish named Charlie. My absolute love for all animals and my special bond with my 18 year old rescue, Fez, lead me to managing a local doggy daycare and boarding facility. I learned so much about all kinds of breeds and mixes, puppies and seniors, managing medications, nutrition, play time, and their beautiful personalities. What a wonderful experience that was! My deep love for dogs, hiking, the outdoors and the Oregon weather makes dog walking a true pleasure for me. I can take dogs to Forest Park or just around the neighborhood sidewalks and trails. I have a very flexible schedule and I am happy to take walks, pop in for a visit or look after in your home while you are away. I'm looking forward to meeting you and your best friend and taking great care of them. I have a very flexible schedule and can work around your routine. I love getting out there in the mornings but I am also happily available for walks in the afternoons and evenings until 7:00pm. Safety is the number one priority period. I have a very calming demeanor and can sense what my pet partner is feeling in their environment. My eyes and ears will be focused on your pet and our safety at all times inside or outside, staying 5 steps ahead with their care.
“Alison and Tom have walked my dog a few times- they are excellent communicators, always send pictures- I can tell Oliver is well loved when he is in their care.”

As an adult I have experience with leash/dog reactive dogs, super high energy puppies, done overnights for dogs with separation anxiety. I also have experience training my own dogs and really enjoy it. I am stay at home mom with both my kids in school so I have free time especially in the mornings after school drop off. I am very careful with other people's property. There should be no signs that I've in your home except for well loved, exercised and happy pets.

“Joy is amazing! Our dog loves going on walks with her in the afternoon. Her communication is excellent, she is flexible, and she always sends great photos. We are thankful for her help!”

“We love Kate, and are so grateful for her attentiveness and care! It is such a relief to know that our dog is in good hands on the days we have to be away at work. Having someone trustworthy and dependable (not to mention kind and knowledgeable!) is something of a rarity these days. We highly recommend Kate!”

About: I’ve had a love for animals my whole life, I’ve had cats and dogs since I was born and currently have 5 pets at home! (2 dogs 3 cats) I have been house sitting my pets for a few years while my parents go out of town, and have also helped a few family friends with their pets. I have dealt with untrained dogs, high maintenance dogs, seniors, puppies, and urinary issues. I’m currently working part-time from 5-9pm. Before then, I will have all day to tend to your pets and let them out for some exercise and potty breaks. When I do run errands, I am never gone for more than 3 hours at a time. For dog walking, I am able to walk however far your dog needs to ensure they get the right amount of exercise. For sitting, I will make sure your pet gets let out for potty breaks and the proper amount of care during the day, whether it is a walk or a small training exercise. For drop in visits, I will tend to whatever your pet needs during that visit.

“Elizabeth took her time introducing herself to my dog who was a little nervous at first but she won her over in minutes and off they happily went on their walk. My pup came back happy and sufficiently tuckered out. :) Elizabeth gave lots of details about how the walk went and did great with dog handling. I’ll definitely call on her again!”

About: I've owned, loved and cared for dogs (and cats) for most of my life, from dachshunds to labs. I'm very active and get a lot of joy out of walking dogs on or off leash. I'm happy walking dogs or running with them - whatever you prefer. I'm recently retired which gives me a great deal of schedule flexibility. I don't mind getting up early for walks as I'm a morning person. I like a days notice for scheduling walks - that's about it! I've literally walked and thrown balls for various dogs I've owned hundreds if not thousands of times. I've always taken good care of them as I love dogs, and I'll treat yours like I treated mine.

I work part-time in my family’s business and have a very flexible schedule. I’m a college student home for summer break, so I have loads of free time! Whatever your needs are, I can make it work! If your dog has a more specific routine, that’s great. If it’s more relaxed, that’s also great! I am very adaptable. I do well with reading body language of dogs (my pup is a little feisty)! I am able to walk long distances, play active games, and more.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Cedar Mill
Jennifer is incredible. An actual professional. She always walks my dog a few minutes longer than scheduled when in the past I’ve had walkers not reach the allotted time frame. She contacted me days in advance to find out what precautions she can take to keep my dog hydrated in safe in the extreme heat and made sure to find a shaded walking path for her. My dog LOVES her!! And so do I!

Wendi went ABOVE and BEYOND for my Quinn. She met with me before the date so that Quinn could meet her and while Quinn is normally a one woman pup (me) she went to Wendi immediately and began bringing Wendi her toys to share. That has literally never happened before. Wendi also was flexible when my times needed to be adjusted. She communicated with me about how the drop ins and walks went and sent pictures. She also wrote a lovely note and created a water color of my Quinn. (not AI, she actually painted it) I highly recommend Wendi! I know my daughter plans to use her when she needs a dog walker/sitter next.

We’ve had an amazing experience with our dog walker! She is incredibly communicative, reliable, and truly goes the extra mile every time. Han and Chewie absolutely adore her, which gives me so much peace of mind when I’m away. She always sends lots of updates and pictures, which I really appreciate—it makes such a difference being able to see how happy and well cared for they are. While I was away, one of my dogs wasn’t feeling well, and she took extra care and attention to make sure he was comfortable and looked after. That level of thoughtfulness meant so much to me. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and caring. We will definitely continue to use her!

Sierra was communicative, flexible to accommodate my needs, and was right on time for Nola's scheduled walk. She made friends with Nola very quickly and off they went. Nola was happy and satisfied when they returned. What more could you ask for? I'll definitely hire Sierra again. :)

- 95% of walkers can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
