“Allison made Merlin think he was on vacation! And me too! So many extras and terrific communication that allowed me not to worry about him and our home. She goes many extra miles, figuratively and literally!!”

“Alyssa is the sweetest person and pet sitter! You can tell she’s a real animal lover and enjoys the time she spends with the pets :) We’ve booked her on two separate occasions and definitely plan to again in the future!”

“Alicia was wonderful with our dog. Alicia followed all of our instructions, stayed in communication, and we would highly recommend Alicia. Thank you very much, Alicia 💕”

“A pet sitting angel! I was freaking out because of a last minute cancellation from another sitter, but Alex came to my rescue and took over the booking. Turns out that the other sitter cancelling was the best thing that could have happened because Alex is everything I could ever want from a sitter. They were incredibly responsive to my messages, they gave frequent updates throughout the day complete with photos, they administered medication to both my cats, they went above and beyond to even clean up the place while I was away…but most importantly, my boys seemed to absolutely adore them! Absolutely a 10/10 ✨”

“Justine-Elise took care of my pup, Indy, while I was overseas for 5 days and did a great job! Excellent communication, lots of cute photos, and she took him on some wonderful adventures. He clearly had a great time.”

“Erika took great care of my cat while I was away. As always, she spent plenty of quality time with my cat, Mitten, and it was clear how much she enjoys being around her—and my cat LOVES her too! I could tell from all the photos she sent me. One thing I especially appreciate is the detailed daily updates she provides, along with lots of photos. They give me so much peace of mind and allow me to see how Mitten is doing each day. Since I'm away, that's really the only way for me to know how my cat is doing, so I truly appreciate the consistent updates and communication. Thanks again, Erika, for taking such great care of Mitten and my place!”

“Lisa was a wonderful sitter for my pup. I was leaving my pup for 8 days, the longest I’d ever left him. He has some anxiety, so I was really anxious about it, but she put my mind at ease immediately. She spent lots of time with him, sent me lots of updates and overall it went really well. Charlie is looking forward to Auntie Lisa staying with him again!”

“Hannah and Nolan were fantastic. We have a pup that takes several introductions to warm up to strangers and they were so patient with him and respectful of his boundaries. We got frequent updates throughout the week and I could tell that the dogs were so happy spending time with them.”

“Rachel was awesome! She communicated with us often, sometimes twice a day, and sent pictures as well. She offered to take on another household task that required attention while we were gone, which was very helpful and gave us extra peace of mind. We appreciated her positivity and her generous spirit. Our dog got regular daily walks, including long ones, which he loves! Rachel will be moving on from our local area, otherwise we would be definite repeat clients for sure!”

“Kyrstin watched my 14 year old Chihuahua/Corgi mix over the Martin Luther King day weekend. Kyrstin did the best job with Nuni. She is very caring, patient and helpful. She followed all the instructions for Nuni's care to the letter. He went to the vet on the Thursday before I left and started a new medication. Kyrstin gave him his medication and didn't even hesitate at the challenge of caring for an elderly dog with health issues. Kyrstin was also very respectful of my home and left everything as it was when I left. I would definitely recommend Kyrstin the care for your pets and will most definitely ask her again should the need arise. Thank you so much Kyrstin for taking such good care of my buddy!!”

“Lucinda took good care of our adored dog. She stayed at our house for 2 weeks and left our place spotless and with Cherif in very good form. We would rebook her!”
“I can highly recommend Adriana. Our recently adopted bernedoodle takes time to warm up to strangers and Adriana was patient and flexible making the time to really get to know Otis ahead of a trip we had planned. She spent a long weekend at our home and gave Otis her time and full attention, she spoiled him with lots of snuggles, taught him new games and helped him work on his manners. We had a full daily update and lots of photos which was reassuring and made our time away more enjoyable. We came back to an immaculately clean house. Adriana had laundered her bedding and towels which was not requested or expected but most appreciated. We will definitely be staying in touch with Adriana and asking her to help with all our pet sitting needs.”

“McKenna came through for us in a pinch and now she’s our go-to dog sitter. Our dog is getting quite old and anxious and McKenna is so gentle and patient with her. She’s always been super reliable and we love getting the pictures! :)”

“Emma is a great dog sitter. She was punctual, kept me well informed throughout, and regularly sent pictures and updates, which gave me real peace of mind. She also left the house clean and tidy. I would definitely recommend her.”

“Nicole was absolutely fabulous!!! She is sweet, caring, and calm! We were updated multiple times a day with the cutest pictures of their adventures. ❤️ We had a sudden trip due to my grandfather passing and with little notice she was able to come house/dog sit. She came over the night before to meet us and make sure our dog was okay with her. They instantly clicked! She has never been left with anyone before so we were a nervous wreck. We felt very comfortable which made our whole trip so much easier. Nicole even took us to the train and stayed late since our flight came in after midnight. Our house was cleaner than we left it! I am truly thankful for her and will be calling her in the future for pet sitting needs. ☺️”

“Maria was extraordinary --- everything we had hoped for and more. She gave loving care to our dog and was a great communicator throughout our time away, sending photos and fun facts about how things were going back home. She helped us relax and enjoy our time away. Thanks, Maria.”

“Absolutely amazing! Tiffany and her family are the perfect house sitters. We got loads of pictures of them with our dog Maggie and our Cat Nova. We were gone for 6 days and worried for none of them. The house was just as clean as we left it and our animals were very happy. She was prepared and did a wonderful job. Would highly recommend to anyone needing house sitting, pet sitting or walking services. Will be using in the future.”

“Lynden was wonderful and my pets were very happy when I got home. I especially appreciated that she took Kirby for a run… Kirby loves to run, and I am sure Lynden was faster than me. Definitely will have her back!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Cedar Mill
Stephanie and Alex are true pros. We just finished a week-long house sitting with them. They were responsive from the very start. Daily updates and photos. House looked great. Two dogs and cat were happy and relaxed when we got home. Reliable and clearly experienced with animals. We would absolutely book them again and would have no hesitation recommending them.

Maria was great. She sent lots of pictures and shared stories of our cats. She left the house spotless. We really appreciated coming home to a clean house. We appreciated her thoughtfulness while we were on vacation. We came home to happy cats. We highly recommend Maria!
Absolutely fantastic! Hannah did a great job with my old, stubborn, clingy dog, and with managing my separation anxiety with pictures and updates. Left the house in order with no issues. Responsive, positive, and knows how to wield a treat. Will definitely book again!

Alyssa was the best! She is very detail oriented, communicative, and so kind! During our time away, she always sent lots of pictures and asked questions if needed. She is great at following instructions and my dogs loved here. Would absolutely recommend her to anyone who needs a good sitter!

Sarah took excellent care of our cats and dog over a weekend. When we arrived home the animals were relaxed—even our extremely neurotic dog. Everything was clean and tidy. She was communicative and flexible with our schedule. She did a great job. We’ll happily book with her again!

Amora was wonderful with Georgie. She messaged me regularly and sent photos. The house was clean and tidy and Georgie was so happy and relaxed when I got home. Her experience with bully breeds and big dogs in general was an extra perk. I felt totally confident leaving Georgie with her. I will definitely have her back!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Cedar Mill on Rover is $58.29 per night (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Cedar Mill walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Cedar Mill maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Cedar Mill choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Cedar Mill. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
