“We would give Lisa 10 stars if that was an option. She worked diligently to befriend our pup who is very wary of people and has been known to nip. She house/dog sat for our pup and our two cats during the recent snow storm. She is a consummate professional, great communicator, fantastic with animals, and charmed our little distrustful dog into letting her pet and love on her. And our house was so clean when she left. We can’t thank Lisa enough!!!”
“Debbie was great. She handled everything professionally, asked great questions, and even had some suggestions. Good communication leading up to and during our trip. We would use her again.”

“Erika was an amazing pet sitter for our two pups. She sent daily updates with a ton of photos. She was really attentive to my pups and I could tell by her messages that she was really paying attention to their individual needs and she really learned their own distinct personalities fairly well. One of our pups is very wary of new people and even she loved Erika faster than anyone else she’s ever met. Our pups had epilepsy and she was very mindful to keep an eye on her and she was very communicative around things she noticed around her. Unfortunately, our pup did end up having a seizure while we were away but I am so glad we had someone like Erika who was able to stay calm and give her the meds she needed plus keep an eye out for any secondary seizures (which thankfully never happened). I would highly recommend Erika and we will be using her again. :)”

“A golden star cherub! Very communicative both before the visit to schedule a meet and greet as well as during the stay with multiple updates and photos daily. Always easy to reach with questions or updates. She left the cutest report card for our fur babies and gave us some pretty stellar book recommendations based on our bookshelves. Will absolutely be booking again next time we are away!”

“We had Allison stay in our home for a week with our 4.5 month old puppy while we were out of town. She went above and beyond with his care. She always made sure he got enough exercise and took him on fun walks and adventures. She worked on some of his training with him too. He was better walking on his leash when we got home so we greatly appreciate the work Allison did with him. When she wasn’t able to stay at our house with him, she took him places with her, including her own home because he needed constant supervision and supervision and didn’t want him in his crate for too many hours at a time. She sent daily videos, pictures and texts with updates. She was very communicative and responsive. When we arrived home, we discovered a nice handwritten note with flowers, photo magnets of pictures she took of our puppy, and chewy toys for him too. We were very nervous initially to leave him with someone but Allison came over for a meet and greet and she let us come to her home to see how our puppy would do with her dog. She quickly put our minds at ease so we could enjoy our vacation and not worry about how our puppy was doing. Our puppy loves her and we were very happy with the care and attention she provided him. We will definitely be using her again.”

“Absolutely amazing! Tiffany and her family are the perfect house sitters. We got loads of pictures of them with our dog Maggie and our Cat Nova. We were gone for 6 days and worried for none of them. The house was just as clean as we left it and our animals were very happy. She was prepared and did a wonderful job. Would highly recommend to anyone needing house sitting, pet sitting or walking services. Will be using in the future.”

“Alyssa is the sweetest person and pet sitter! You can tell she’s a real animal lover and enjoys the time she spends with the pets :) We’ve booked her on two separate occasions and definitely plan to again in the future!”

“Emma is a great dog sitter. She was punctual, kept me well informed throughout, and regularly sent pictures and updates, which gave me real peace of mind. She also left the house clean and tidy. I would definitely recommend her.”

“Lynden was wonderful and my pets were very happy when I got home. I especially appreciated that she took Kirby for a run… Kirby loves to run, and I am sure Lynden was faster than me. Definitely will have her back!”

“Christina was very great with our anxious pup. She was very attentive and was quick to get our dog very comfortable with her. She even used a few techniques to calm her down when needed.”

“Hollis was fantastic! I was in a crunch after a previous sitter had something come up. Hollis was accommodated Knox by making sure her other dogs weren’t in contact with him. Would definitely rebook with her.”

“Adam & Vaitiary are the absolute BEST! We feel so comfortable leaving our dogs with them! They treat them like the princesses and are so in tune to their needs! Highly recommend!”

“Sierra is wonderful and I would absolutely recommend her! She was quick to respond and reliable. Zoe (my fur baby) loved her from the minute she walked in and you can tell that Sierra loves animals. Your pets will love her too!”

“Adriana just sat for 4 nights at my house with my two dogs, one of whom is elderly and special needs. He has mobility issues and incontinence, and Adriana didn’t flinch at cleaning up after him. She sent lots of updates and I felt a lot more comfortable with her than I usually do with a first-time sitter! She really seems to appreciate my dogs, who can be a LOT, but she doted on them with patience and compassion, and kept me updated when my older dog had a concerning issue. I will def use her again and I recommend her as a caring and conscientious sitter!”

“Lucinda is just amazing.!! Thoughtful, gentle, and conscientious of my specific needs for MY high maintenance needs for my dog that I asked of her. Her communication throughout the time she stayed was impeccable. She took lots of pictures. I almost didn’t make it home her last day bcuz of flight issues and she was immediately willing to watch another day on the spot. What more could one ask for. She left my home exactly as I would. She’s also just a caring and lovely person too!!”

“Freya was amazing, even and despite my pets being little $hit$ during her stay. She took great care of them and they were quite happy when I returned. Will definitely have her back!”

Katie was amazing! I was so nervous to leave my dog for the first time with someone he didn’t know and she was so great with him! She took great care of him, sent pictures and kept me up to date on their week, and was so nice. Definitely rebooking the next time I need someone!

Kathleen was great. We needed a last minute sitter a week before we were leaving on a trip. Kathleen came through. Our dog was well cared for, we received pictures and updates throughout our trip. Our house was as clean as we left it. She was even willing to take our dog to doggie daycare while we were gone for her day of play. We are were very happy with her service.
Wendi was great with our two dogs and one cat! She updated us regularly, was able to give one of them medications without any issues, and by her photo updates I could tell they were all so happy and comfortable with her. Would definitely have her pet sit again and couldn’t recommend her more!

We had to leave our 6 month old puppy to attend a family rehearsal dinner and wedding just 4 days after his neuter surgery. Mckenna came to the rescue. She stayed with little Finn for 6 hours the evening of the dinner and 8 hours the next day for the wedding. She did a great job dealing the Finn's feeding, meds and potty walks. Things were complicated somewhat because he had to wear a cone collar, the "cone of shame". Mckenna was very responsive to our needs. Every time we needed to talk with her she got back to us in an instant. On the first night, we were running a little late and she cheerfully stayed an extra hour. We would definitely use Mckenna again.

Alex took great care of Myra and Clifford this past weekend! They kept us updated with regular check-ins, sent lots of photos, and followed all of our care instructions. I was especially nervous because Clifford can be reactive around other dogs, but Alex handled everything so well and gave us complete peace of mind. It was clear our pups were in great hands, and I wouldn't hesitate to book with them again. Highly recommend!

Wonderful human who took care of our two boys, a crazy 1 year old puppy who’s energy never ends and needs so much attentiveness as well as our 10 year old cat who lovvvveddd the cuddles. We were away two weeks and could trust they were in good hands (as well as our many plants!) Thank you so much!!

We have 2 senior dogs, one of which requires medication for seizures. Due to age and needs, we wanted someone to stay with them at our home while we were away. Rachel to the rescue! Not only did she shower attention on both dogs, she sent photos and updates and made sure the medications were administered on time as required. She was an excellent house guest and made sure our dogs were comfortable and well taken care of while we were gone.

Nina took wonderful care of our dog, Akira, during an extended stay. She was very communicative throughout, sent us lots of pictures and updates, and gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. Akira was happy, well cared for, and clearly loved. We would definitely hire Nina again and highly recommend her!

Lisa was an amazing sitter for our Frank and Sugar. She was such a good communicator and provided regular updates and photos and put my mind at ease. She took amazing care of the house as well, which as a homeowner, I I really appreciated. Just to have the peace of mind of both the fur babies and the home being cared for in a loving way I highly highly recommend Lisa.
Tasha was perhaps the best sitter we have ever had for Onion. She helped him attend our wedding and was so attentive and detailed and caring… it was genuinely unbelievable. If it weren’t for her, the day would have been so much more difficult, and she allowed us to include my best bud into the ceremony seemlessly. 100% recommend, Tasha is the absolute best!!!

Stephanie and Alex are true pros. We just finished a week-long house sitting with them. They were responsive from the very start. Daily updates and photos. House looked great. Two dogs and cat were happy and relaxed when we got home. Reliable and clearly experienced with animals. We would absolutely book them again and would have no hesitation recommending them.

Maria was great. She sent lots of pictures and shared stories of our cats. She left the house spotless. We really appreciated coming home to a clean house. We appreciated her thoughtfulness while we were on vacation. We came home to happy cats. We highly recommend Maria!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Cedar Mill on Rover is $61.05 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 4,566 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Cedar Mill. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Cedar Mill walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Cedar Mill maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Cedar Mill choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Cedar Mill. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
