“We loved having Katie stay with our babies. She kept them safe and happy and took great care of the house too. Our Vizsla would rather be with people than with dogs and has come home sick from previous stays at the kennel, so having Katie stay was perfect.”

“Eliza was amazing with our dog Wells! He is very anxious and we have a lot of construction going on outside and she kept him calm and gave him lots of love and attention. She also took great care of our home. Thanks so much Eliza!”

“Madison took such amazing care of Benny and Sprout while we were away. Her communication was top-tier—we received regular updates, and pictures, that gave us complete peace of mind. She made sure both Benny and Sprout had quality walks everyday, even though sprout was very unsure about walking with a new person, she was patient and reassuring and gained his trust. Plus plenty of cozy couch time for cuddles and playtime in the yard. It was so clear how loved and well-cared-for they were the entire time. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and will definitely be reaching out to Madison again. Highly recommended!”

“Francis was the answer to everything we could have asked for. I think our dogs like them more than us. Prompt, trustworthy, true professional! We will absolutely book with Francis in the future and had a wonderful experience throughout the process.”

“Sue did an amazing job with our 3 dogs and 2 cats. Even our skittish cat spent the whole weekend snuggled with her. Will definitely use again.”

“Bri was wonderful. I used her for a house sitting. Everything was wonderful when I got home and my dogs were very well taken care of. I would definitely recommend Bri and would book with her again.”

“Christina was great! We have a hard time leaving our pups and this trip just needed to focus on traveling with our infant. Christina was prompt and accommodating to meet us in advance and then took great care of our home and animals while we were away. They were well looked after and she left our home tidy.”

“Alicia was wonderful with Bernie and Lucy! Bernie has some special needs, so it’s really important to us to have someone who is attentive, patient, and comfortable with his routine. Alicia did a great job with both dogs over the long weekend, and we felt completely at ease knowing they were in good hands. She was reliable, caring, and clearly gave them lots of love and attention. We’d happily have her watch them again and definitely recommend her!”

“Even for a short visit of a few hours (new home, nervous dog) Lisa's professionalism shone through: Our Izzy was taken for a good walk, a trip to the backyard, and had plenty of enriching/calming attention. Everything we needed and more!”

“We've used Lynden a few times now to house/dog sit for our puppy Ellis and senior dog Dexter and will definitely continue to schedule with her. She is communicative, provides updates, and we arrive back home to happy dogs and a clean house. She's very accommodating on changes in feeding, walking schedules, and giving medications.”

“Alicia was wonderful with our dog. Alicia followed all of our instructions, stayed in communication, and we would highly recommend Alicia. Thank you very much, Alicia 💕”

“Alyssa took great care of Leia and our home! She kept in touch regularly and sent photos of Leia throughout the day. Would recommend her to anyone who needs a sitter!”

“Bri took care of our 4 pets with ease and care. She was super communicative throughout the stay and was an absolute dream to work with. Highly recommend!”

About: I have grown up with cats and dogs my whole life. Also, I have been trusted to check on my neighbor's pets. I have volunteered at a local animal shelter where I fed cats and dogs. Also I walked the dogs. I'm currently taking college classes part time, so I have plenty of time to stop by and care for your pets. Also, helping others always makes my day. I keep track of how often a pet needs to be feed and always check their water. Also, I pet them and say hi if they are friendly or give them space if they are shy. When walking a dog I make sure their leash is secure and their collar comfortable. Safety and organization is my priority. I keep notes on an individual pet's needs.
“What’s blessing Jennifer is. Our dogs are so happy and we loved all her correspondence. Our flight was delayed 7 hours and she accommodated us with no problem. The girls will be anxious to see her in a few weeks.”

“It's hard to leave our senior pet, but we felt very confident with Ollie. Charlie took to him immediately. Ollie knew several tricks to help us with Charlie's exercises, physical challenges, and medication schedule. He was compassionate and communicative. We would not hesitate to hire him again.”
“3rd time using Juliet - absolutely wonderful! She was able to get my older, extremely untrusting cat, to engage and play...this has never happened before! Juliet followed all my instructions while staying at my home 5 days. A very nice and trustworthy Sitter!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Oak Hills
Yu Ting stayed with our two senior dogs for several days while we were out of town. We were nervous to leave them because both were dealing with different health issues but she provided the extra care they needed. The house was how we left it and the boys seemed well taken care of. Would absolutely book her again.

Absolutely fantastic experience! Hannah took amazing care of our dogs, kept us updated and communicated throughout our time away, and we came home to happy pups and a spotless house. It gave us such peace of mind knowing everything was in great hands. We would absolutely work with them again and highly recommend them!

Layla looked after our three pups for a couple weeks and did amazing. Our trip was short notice, required international travel including a 9 hour time difference, and was during highly stressful times. She managed through smoke skies that forced indoor activities for days on end (aside from quick potty trips outside). Our dogs are used to their routines, which includes prepared meal toppers for their dinners, certain herb administration, even using fridge filtered water to fill their water bowls. Additionally, we have a large yard and home both of which are filled with plants. She rose to the challenge with watering some of our non-irrigated plants outside during the record heat waves, kept our hummingbird feeder washed and filled, and gave the dogs the normalcy that they can not get in any boarding arrangement. Her daily proof of life photos were humorously consistent (we laughed over the daily butt pics). She asked questions and kept true to rover interface. Lastly, our travel back home was interrupted with a cancellation on our domestic flight. We had a rough night of scrambling and managed to make it home a day later. I was extremely grateful she was willing to stay on the extra day. She collected our mail, brushed the pups, and even added enrichment games. When we came home, our pups were well adjusted, happy and clearly were in good hands the entire time we were away. This peace of mind is not easily gained on either party's side. I am grateful she paid so much attention to detail, came prepared to our initial meeting with questions (she even had pre-printed questionnaire forms and a clipboard). For anyone reading this, and on the fence about whether to reach out for a possible booking with her, I highly recommend that you do it. She takes her responsibility seriously, leaves the house in impressive condition (she washed her used linens, house was tidy, dishes were washed, dogs were content). We know we have additional travel on the horizon and plan to reach out to her. Many thanks for everything, Layla!

Cami did an amazing job caring for our two dogs and bearded dragon! She sent us adorable daily photos and updates, so we were able to completely relax and enjoy our time away. And our house was spotless when we returned, with her bed sheets already washed and in the dryer.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Oak Hills walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Oak Hills maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Oak Hills choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Oak Hills. On Rover:

- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
