About: Growing up I always had animals, especially dogs and cats! I absolutely adored each and every one. I love animals of all sizes, and treat mine like my children. I will give your baby all the attention, snuggles, and love they want. I have many years of experience in caring for dogs and cats, and would love to spoil and care for yours just as I do mine! :) I work through out the week so during that time I have limited availability but I am flexible for drop-in’s most evenings and early mornings. I am completely available Friday through Sunday. I will keep a close eye on your baby and make sure to the best of my ability they’re safe at all times! If you have a certain schedule or routine for your babe I am happy to keep them on that as well. For boarding, I don’t have a yard at my apartment but have easy access to trails/parks for walks and frequent potty breaks!
“I don't have enough good things to say about Colby!! He walks my dog for me and just goes above and beyond for her. I've never used a dog walker before and was nervous to try it out and Colby just made the whole process so smooth and reassuring for me. He has excellent communication and sends cute photo updates. It's everything to me to know my baby is in good hands!”

About: Having grown up on a 20 acre farm for most of my life, I have cared for all shapes and sizes of animals - from horses to snakes, and everything in between! When I moved into an apartment for college, I missed the "dog energy" in our household and set to volunteering hundreds of hours at the Humane Society, which also included basic training skills and walking the most aggressive 100+lb leash pullers. This later evolved into working at a veterinary clinic where I was trained to monitor recovering animals and administer medications safely and with as little stress as possible through Fear Free certification. Animal body language is my second language! I love the outdoors as much as the indoors, and am more than happy to accommodate medical needs. ♡ If you would like extras taken care of during your pets stay or our visit, such as bathing, grooming, nail trims, or a run, just let me know! My dog, Leo, and I are constantly going on hikes and we are more than happy to tucker your pups out with a day trip, just reach out for rates. I currently work as a Braille Librarian for the state and used to teach Low Vision/Blind learners, and I am also fluent in American Sign Language (ASL), so I have a soft spot for dogs that may be Deaf, Blind, or DeafBlind. To top it all off, I am working on weaseling my way into Guide Dog puppy raising, and all the training tips that come along with that. ( : I commute to Salem Wednesday and Friday, which means my schedule during those days is usually pretty limited to anything after 430pm. Otherwise, my weekends are typically completely free and ready to be filled with whatever your fur babies need! Using the Fear Free method, I work with a pet's body language to determine what will work best in the current situation, and when methods may be effective versus stressful. I am ready to go at your pet's pace with whatever they may need, and clearly communicate the process along the way.
“Lucinda made multiple extra visits to my house (outside of scheduled walks) to try & get my very fearful dog to get to know her. She is very patient & understanding, I just wish my dog would be more cooperative! I appreciate how she went above & beyond to try & accommodate my scaredy cat dog. <3”

About: I have been taking care of animals for as long as I can remember and even have my own fur baby of my own. We love animals and making new friends! I am currently working a remote flex job so I am able to choose my hours and prioritize pet care to ensure I’m able to give your pet what they need! I have my own dog, and we usually go out for walks around my neighborhood and visit the PSU campus and park blocks to allow my pup to be in more greenery! I also have a grass block that is right next door to my apartment so I am easily able to take the pets potty!
About: I have grown up with animals and I have experience doing dog walking in the area. I have walked dogs of all sizes, from a Chihuahua to Bernese Mountain dog and I love all dogs. I am also a college runner and can take your dog on a run if they are high energy! I currently am a college student living in an apartment with a cat, I am unable to board any animals but I would be happy to pet-sit or do drop in visits! I am a student-athlete, which makes me a little more busy but I have time from 6-8AM, 11-1PM, and on most days 3-10PM I can keep your pet busy with pets, play time, walks, or whatever else they may need. I love spending time with animals and I would love to be able to take care of your pet while you cannot!
About: I have a 4 year old excitable spaniel of my own who certainly keeps my life exciting! I have always lived with dogs and can’t imagine it any other way. But I also love cats! Nearly all my friends have cats and I have lots of experience pet-sitting for many of them. I love spending time around animals and would love to take care of yours! I have a full-time 8-5 job, but do have flexibility within my week. I wfh at least one day a week - sometimes more. Evenings and weekends are usually super open for me! But feel free to reach out about availability as my schedule fluctuates often. I have a small fenced yard with space for your pup to potty and run. I also have a friendly dog of my own to keep yours company. I have a crate that can be used if your pup likes a place to settle. My furniture is my dogs furniture and it would be the same for your furry friend too! I also have an animal loving roommate - so double the love.
“Emma was fantastic with my dog! He took to her so quickly and he’s usually more shy/timid around strangers. She followed all instructions to a T and took a bunch of photos which I appreciate. I would absolutely recommend Emma to watch your fur babies!”

About: I've loved animals ever since I was a small kid. I grew up raising 3 rats, 3 cats, and a Great Pyrenees. I have experience walking neighborhood dogs, as well as taking care of hamsters and cats while their owners were on vacation. I currently have no pets due to my building's rules, so I'd take any excuse to help take care of a fluffy creature. Currently working a reduced amount with most of it being from home, so I have a lot of availability to care for your pets. Free/flexible most hours, besides evening on the weekends(and even then, I could potentially work something out with enough time). I enjoy long walks and exercise, and love playing with animals, so I'm your guy if your dog needs a long walk or an hour of nothing but fetch. I grew up walking a stubborn 100+ lb. dog, so I know how to control them if they get a little too excited sometimes.
About: Hi there! I’m an experienced pet lover with over 10 years of caring for dogs, from new puppies with high energy to lazy senior dogs. I have also spent lots of times with cats and adore all their different personalities from independent to cuddly. My partner is also an avid pet-lover as we often foster together and is in training to be a vet-tech, so he will be at my disposal for emergencies and extra assistance if something were to arise! We often share this account and the responsibilities of pet sitting :) Need potty training? Need a doggy bath? Need a nail clipping? Need a litter box cleaning? Need medicine overnight? I got you while you're away! I know every pet is unique, so please let me know their needs, routines, and quirks. I wanna be there to make sure they feel happy and cared for while in my care according to their fur-parents schedules. Your pet will be treated like family, like my own, because that’s exactly how I see all animals from cats, dogs, even rodents and birds! 🐾 🐾🐾🐾🐾 I currently have a pup of my own that is walked for over 30+ mins a day, receives medication, and training daily! I am also a dog-foster that will occasionally take in small dogs who need a helping hands before they move onto a home. So my experience variety is wide! And I have lots of free-time to welcome more pets into my heart. I will respect your home and any ground rules you set. Just let me know what is important to you. I will even vacuum/clean up after your pet so you will return happily! In case of a small dog staying with me, they will have an enthusiastic play-mate! I have a chest full of toys including enrichment toys. Walks and feedings will be a breeze. Not to mention plenty of doting by myself and my partner
About: I have a dog with seizures and I understand how much care is needed to care for him. I will treat your dog(s) with that same care and significance. I work early morning hours Thursday through Monday. I'm off work by 10:30am and can be available to walk, feed, administer medicatios and do drop in visits 7 days a week. I live in an apartment downtown that has a secured entry. I have a collapsible travel kennel that can hold a small to medium sized dog, I also have a wood kennel that can hold a pet up to 20lbs with plenty of room to spare. My 20lb Boston Terrier fits in it comfortably with enough room to stand up and turn around without any discomfort.

About: What sets me apart is my lifelong, hands-on experience caring for animals combined with a strong scientific and responsible work background. I have cared for dogs, cats, and even a pet pig since childhood, and I currently have a cat. I’ve also regularly pet sat for neighbors and family friends since I was 12, including animals with different temperaments and needs. My biology and environmental science training, along with research experience maintaining live animal systems, has strengthened my attention to animal health, behavior, and safety. I’m also dependable, detail-oriented, and experienced in caregiving roles, including childcare and supervision, which translates well to responsible pet care and reliability for owners. Pet care fits very naturally into my weekly routine. I am currently not working and I have a car, so I have full flexibility for visits, walks, or check-ins throughout the day. During the summer, I have no school commitments, which means I am essentially fully available and can adjust my schedule around pet needs, including mornings, evenings, and last-minute care if needed. I am reliable, organized, and used to balancing responsibility from my academic and research background, so I can consistently prioritize pet care without scheduling conflicts. In a client’s home, I prioritize safety, routine, and minimizing stress for the pet by following the owner’s instructions exactly as given. I make sure pets have fresh food and water, clean litter boxes or outdoor access, and receive attention and exercise based on their normal routine. I’m careful to secure doors, gates, and leashes to prevent escapes and always monitor behavior for any signs of stress or health concerns. With my biology and animal research background, I’m attentive to animal well-being and comfortable handling both cats and dogs responsibly and calmly.
About: Over 20 years of hands on pet care under my belt. I've been the go to walker and sitter for friends, family, and neighbors across Portland. From energetic malamutes who love winter hikes in Forest Park, to chill cats who want a lap and a scratch. I've handled them all. I know every pup's quirks, keep treats handy, and always come home with wagging tails and happy updates. Reliability is my thing: on time walks, clean pickups, and no drama. Let's get your furry crew out exploring. I am currently doing this part time and enjoy taking care of animals. I am fairly flexible on when I can be available for pet care. I love animals and treat all pets as if they were own. I can tailor to the owner and their pet to make sure everyone is comfortable.
“Kat is incredible with my dog. She is very patient and in-tune with her needs. She's very communicative and I fully trust that my pets will be in good hands when they're under her care.”

About: I was blessed to grow along my childhood pets: an elderly little King Charles spaniel, the sweetest yellow lab, and two feisty yet loving seal point siamese cats. They taught me so much - respecting boundaries, fulfilling one’s responsibility, and the importance of mutual unconditional love. Since then, I’ve had two rats of my own and have experience pet sitting and boarding pets for multiple days as well as consistent dog walking visits. Now that I’m away from my cat, I’m hoping to find more furry (or scaly!) friends to care for! I am currently a full time college student with a flexible routine and a car. While I am in class during much of the day, I have many breaks and am happy to get of campus! Pet care in a clients home revolves heavily on what the owner prefers. I am happy to follow a strict schedule or complex meals if it's explained to me in advance but just as content finding out what your pet likes to do on my own.
“I was so lucky to find Dillon to be our dog walker while I was taking care of the family dog. He is very experienced which was a huge help especially since Bogey (the dog) is a large pitbull. He was able to give me pointers which made my walks go much smoother as well. Dillon always responds to communications in a timely manner and he's a friendly and understanding person! I could tell he really loves dogs, and they love him. Should I need dog walking again I will not hesitate to reach out.”

About: I was born into a family of German Shepherd lovers, and grew up primarily taking care of our German Shepherds until about 10 years old when we also adopted cats and labradors. Once I graduated college, I adopted an 8 week old Alaskan malamute, who I cared for his entire 11 years of life until he passed just recently this past January. I am not ready to adopt again, but am missing the presence of dogs in my life and looking to fill that space by helping friends, family, neighbors and members of the community with their dog care needs. I am experienced with puppies, high maintenance animals, and especially with large breeds (my boy was 150lbs at a healthy weight and required at least 5 miles of exercise a day). I am kind, caring, uniquely experienced, energetic and reliable. I currently am only working/unavailable late Saturday and Sunday nights, and am extremely active during the week. I have plenty of free time in general. I am respectful to how you’d like your dog to be taken care of in your home and out and about, and also have my own set of everything (leashes, crate, toys, beds, etc) if need be.
Southwest Hills dog parents share their Rover experiences
So very grateful to Katherine for being so readily available to help with Otto, even on a last minute booking. She takes the time to listen and understand the needs of my dog and his quirks (he has a few). She’s also thoughtful about making sure Otto takes it easy on days when he may be a little slower with walking. Leaves my place just how I left it- I really appreciate it! Will book again 😊
