Hello! I have been a pet-lover and owner since childhood. My family had a dog as a pet when I was young, and I was thrilled! Beginning in college, I had cat as pets and since then have had the pleasure of loving many cats, who I find give love back in return. Over the past five years or so, since I retired from my job as an English teacher, some of my friends who have cats or dogs have asked me to pet sit for them. As the word spread, I have gotten more clients, and am lucky to be able to spend time with several wonderful pets--feeding, walking, giving meds, staying overnight, and having lots of fun. Let me help you, too! I care.

Safety, trust & environment
I am currently living in an apartment in Portland, Oregon. Pets are not allowed in my apartment complex, so I cannot do pet care in my home. However, I am available for dog walking, drop-in visits, and pet sitting at my clients' homes. To establish safety, trust, and environment, I schedule a "meet and greet" with the client and pet to set up clear expectations about the pet care. I also make sure that the client reviews the Rover Community Guidlines so that the client is well informed. After booking, I communicate often during the pet care about how things are going and whenever anything arises that needs the client's input. I also provide photos to the client during the pet care to keep them updated on how their pet is. I make certain to communicate with the client after the pet care to check that I took care of their pet according to their expectations. I want to do an excellent job!

Lucinda has been coming to my home,for an hour once a week, so that my dog and cat will become acquainted with her when she spends 2 weeks with them in October. Lucinda is very calm and patient with my nervous little dog. She always leaves pictures and notes of her visits. Very happy to have Lucinda!!!
Lucinda was able to take care of my cat Splenda at the last minute. She was very accommodative, she was reliable. I didn’t have any issues. My cat didn’t seem stressed to have me gone for the week.
Lucinda filled in for 3 days as a dog walker for my furry-faced chihuahua daughter. She showed patience and kindness to a somewhat skittish pup. I felt confident that she would provide the care my pup needed while I worked long days in medicine. I would not hesitate to hire her again or to recommend her.

Lucinda is just amazing.!! Thoughtful, gentle, and conscientious of my specific needs for MY high maintenance needs for my dog that I asked of her. Her communication throughout the time she stayed was impeccable. She took lots of pictures. I almost didn’t make it home her last day bcuz of flight issues and she was immediately willing to watch another day on the spot. What more could one ask for. She left my home exactly as I would. She’s also just a caring and lovely person too!!
Our second booking with Lucinda, our two dogs were very well taken care of, the house was clean, and the communication great! Will definitely book again
