About: I have taken care of cats and dogs from ages 4 months to 12 years! I like to learn each animals needs and modify my care for them! I work three days a week and keep an open schedule to care for others’ animals the other four days in the week! I have a flexible schedule and can even help on the days I am scheduled at my main job! I always ask for your preferences for your animals! Whether this includes walk length, treats and food, and even mannerisms, I always want to make sure YOU and your animals are comfortable!
About: Having grown up on a 20 acre farm for most of my life, I have cared for all shapes and sizes of animals - from horses to snakes, and everything in between! When I moved into an apartment for college, I missed the "dog energy" in our household and set to volunteering hundreds of hours at the Humane Society, which also included basic training skills and walking the most aggressive 100+lb leash pullers. This later evolved into working at a veterinary clinic where I was trained to monitor recovering animals and administer medications safely and with as little stress as possible through Fear Free certification. Animal body language is my second language! I love the outdoors as much as the indoors, and am more than happy to accommodate medical needs. ♡ If you would like extras taken care of during your pets stay or our visit, such as bathing, grooming, nail trims, or a run, just let me know! My dog, Leo, and I are constantly going on hikes and we are more than happy to tucker your pups out with a day trip, just reach out for rates. I currently work as a Braille Librarian for the state and used to teach Low Vision/Blind learners, and I am also fluent in American Sign Language (ASL), so I have a soft spot for dogs that may be Deaf, Blind, or DeafBlind. To top it all off, I am working on weaseling my way into Guide Dog puppy raising, and all the training tips that come along with that. ( : I commute to Salem Wednesday and Friday, which means my schedule during those days is usually pretty limited to anything after 430pm. Otherwise, my weekends are typically completely free and ready to be filled with whatever your fur babies need! Using the Fear Free method, I work with a pet's body language to determine what will work best in the current situation, and when methods may be effective versus stressful. I am ready to go at your pet's pace with whatever they may need, and clearly communicate the process along the way.

“Alexander came for a first solo walk with our 65 lb dog-reactive girl, and reported that everything went well! We were sent a lot of great pictures. At the meet-and-greet, Alexander really listened and absorbed all the mitigation strategies that we have for the leash reactivity (even taking notes!). Thank you, Alexander!”

“Kiki has been great on the first couple walks with Max and Whiskey. She has been professional and flexible and she responds quickly. Very happy to recommend her and looking forward to many visits in the future!”

“Lucinda made multiple extra visits to my house (outside of scheduled walks) to try & get my very fearful dog to get to know her. She is very patient & understanding, I just wish my dog would be more cooperative! I appreciate how she went above & beyond to try & accommodate my scaredy cat dog. <3”

About: I have over 8 years of pet-sitting experience and have cared for dogs of all ages, sizes, and activity levels. My experience includes caring for young puppies, senior dogs, and dogs with special medical and mobility needs, including back and hip problems, vision impairment, and proprioceptive ataxia. As a medical student, I am highly attentive to detail and comfortable monitoring pets for changes in behavior, mobility, appetite, and overall well-being. I understand the importance of maintaining routines, administering medications when needed, and adapting care to each dog’s unique needs. Whether your dog enjoys long walks, playtime, extra patience, or specialized support, I will provide safe, compassionate, and reliable care while treating them like my own. I am currently in my clinical year of medical school, which gives me a structured and predictable schedule. Pet care fits naturally into my routine, with walks and check-ins scheduled before clinic, after clinic, and on my days off. I am highly organized and committed to providing dependable, consistent care, keeping pet owners updated with photos and messages so they can feel confident their pets are well cared for while they are away. The safety and well-being of your pet are always my top priorities. I take the time to learn each pet’s routine, personality, preferences, and any medical or behavioral needs before providing care. Whether I am stopping by for a walk, check-in visit, or overnight stay, I strive to maintain a calm, familiar environment that helps pets feel comfortable and secure. I have experience caring for puppies, senior pets, and animals with medical conditions, so I understand the importance of closely following feeding schedules, medication instructions, exercise restrictions, and safety precautions. I treat every home with respect and every pet as if they were my own, providing reliable care, plenty of affection, and regular updates for owners.
About: Am I a dog person or cat person? Can't choose, I've grown up around both! In fact, throw in bunnies and reptiles too: you name it, I've trained it. I bring a gentle energy to each and every pet, because just like people, they all have different and unique personalities. I'm currently a college student trying to fill time during the summer. My schedule is beyond free, so PLEASE I would be more than happy to take care of your pet. Routines are essential for pets, and I recognize that! I'm experienced in following all different types of quirky directions, so let me know exactly how your pets like it.
About: Animals have been part of my life for as long as I can remember, and I’ve never let myself go without having a dog. For over 25 years I’ve cared for pets of all ages, breeds, and temperaments - puppies through seniors, anxious rescues, and high-energy dogs. Your animal is part of my family while they’re here, not just a guest and I genuinely enjoy having more dogs around, as does my dog! I’m in SW Portland with my Greater Swiss Mountain Dog Layla, and I provide you with updates so you can actually relax while you’re away. I work mostly from home, which means plenty of outdoor breaks and consistent supervision throughout the day. My Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, Layla, is two years old, easygoing, and great with all sizes — she just loves having a friend around. My kids (10 and 14) are here half the time and are natural animal lovers, so your pet will have no shortage of company and attention. Every pet deserves to feel safe and at home while their family is away, and that’s what I’m here to provide. I’d love to care for yours.
About: I’ve had animals my whole life! I have the most experience with bunnies, dogs, and cats but can make a connection with any pet. I care about keeping your best friend comfortable and at ease while you’re gone! I am most available on weekends and weekday early mornings before 10 am & evenings after 5pm but can offer additional availability Monday & Friday. I provide a calm and welcoming presence for animals of all types. I will make sure to build a relationship with your pet and be respectful of their space as a sitter. I believe the best animal relationships start with autonomy!
About: I have a dog with seizures and I understand how much care is needed to care for him. I will treat your dog(s) with that same care and significance. I work early morning hours Thursday through Monday. I'm off work by 10:30am and can be available to walk, feed, administer medicatios and do drop in visits 7 days a week. I live in an apartment downtown that has a secured entry. I have a collapsible travel kennel that can hold a small to medium sized dog, I also have a wood kennel that can hold a pet up to 20lbs with plenty of room to spare. My 20lb Boston Terrier fits in it comfortably with enough room to stand up and turn around without any discomfort.
About: Hello! I'm just a natural born animal lover and have been surrounded by them all my life. I have over 15years experience working with animals in veterinary care and have a B.S in Animal Health Sciences. I have had experience with just about every breed and temperament of dog there is. While my passion is for dogs that does not mean I don't also love cats and have never been without one for a pet. My experience also includes caring for reptiles, rodents, pigs and even primates! My most fulfilling work was my time working as an animal health technician in an animal shelter. It brought me pure heartbreak and pure joy. It was so sad to see what conditions brought the animals to the shelter but was also rewarding knowing that I was making a difference in their lives. During my time working in shelters, I gained experience interacting with both shy dogs and aggressive dogs and am comfortable with both. While I've always had pets, I stepped away from working with animals to work in health care some years ago. I really miss the interaction with animals and caring for them. It is my one true passion. I feel I have an instinct into how an animal is feeling and am able to meet that need. I will always make sure your pet feels comfortable and secure. I'm currently working part-time in health care so have plenty of time open to care for your pet. I mostly have afternoons, evenings and weekends available. While in your home I will take all measures to ensure that your pet is safe and secure. We will leave no doors open and will always have a dog on a leash before walking out the door.
About: Over 20 years of hands on pet care under my belt. I've been the go to walker and sitter for friends, family, and neighbors across Portland. From energetic malamutes who love winter hikes in Forest Park, to chill cats who want a lap and a scratch. I've handled them all. I know every pup's quirks, keep treats handy, and always come home with wagging tails and happy updates. Reliability is my thing: on time walks, clean pickups, and no drama. Let's get your furry crew out exploring. I am currently doing this part time and enjoy taking care of animals. I am fairly flexible on when I can be available for pet care. I love animals and treat all pets as if they were own. I can tailor to the owner and their pet to make sure everyone is comfortable.

“This was our first time having Kayley care for Baja and she was amazing! Kayley’s communications and updates were excellent and she went above and beyond on some visits to help with other things. We’ll definitely request her again the next time we need help with dog walking.”

About: I’ve always had a deep love for animals and bring that same care and attention to every pet I watch. I have experience with puppies and senior dogs who need extra patience and support. I’m detail-oriented, punctual, and genuinely enjoy forming connections with each pet’s unique personality. I am currently on summer break. I can mainly work on Mondays - Fridays, but I can make some exceptions. I have a very flexible schedule and plenty of time to give your pet the attention they need. I love starting my day with a walk or some playtime, and I’m happy to follow whatever routine your pet is used to. Since I’m not balancing school or work this summer, I can offer consistent, reliable care and lots of love. In my home, pets have a safe and calm space with lots of love and supervision. I have a good-sized front yard for fresh air and playtime, and I live near several parks that are perfect for walks and outdoor exercise. I make sure pets stay on their regular feeding, bathroom, and play schedules so they feel comfortable and at home. If I’m caring for pets in the client’s home, I always follow instructions carefully and keep things clean, consistent, and calm. I treat each home with respect and each pet like they’re my own, paying attention to details like favorite toys, walking routes, or any special needs they might have.

Emma took great care of our dog on her drop in visit/walk! Our dog Hoku loves her and was so happy to see her. I trust Emma with my pets and it puts my mind at ease knowing they will be in great hands when we are away from home! She is so dependable, I will definitely continue to rebook her!

Alexander came for a first solo walk with our 65 lb dog-reactive girl, and reported that everything went well! We were sent a lot of great pictures. At the meet-and-greet, Alexander really listened and absorbed all the mitigation strategies that we have for the leash reactivity (even taking notes!). Thank you, Alexander!

Lucinda filled in for 3 days as a dog walker for my furry-faced chihuahua daughter. She showed patience and kindness to a somewhat skittish pup. I felt confident that she would provide the care my pup needed while I worked long days in medicine. I would not hesitate to hire her again or to recommend her.

We couldn't be happier with the care our pets received! Yana took amazing care of our two dogs and our African Grey parrot for four days while we were away. We received regular updates and photos and it was obvious that my pets were loved, well cared for, and comfortable the entire time. I would highly recommend Yana to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and reliable pet sitter. We'll definitely be booking again.
