About: Having grown up on a 20 acre farm for most of my life, I have cared for all shapes and sizes of animals - from horses to snakes, and everything in between! When I moved into an apartment for college, I missed the "dog energy" in our household and set to volunteering hundreds of hours at the Humane Society, which also included basic training skills and walking the most aggressive 100+lb leash pullers. This later evolved into working at a veterinary clinic where I was trained to monitor recovering animals and administer medications safely and with as little stress as possible through Fear Free certification. Animal body language is my second language! I love the outdoors as much as the indoors, and am more than happy to accommodate medical needs. ♡ If you would like extras taken care of during your pets stay or our visit, such as bathing, grooming, nail trims, or a run, just let me know! My dog, Leo, and I are constantly going on hikes and we are more than happy to tucker your pups out with a day trip, just reach out for rates. I currently work as a Braille Librarian for the state and used to teach Low Vision/Blind learners, and I am also fluent in American Sign Language (ASL), so I have a soft spot for dogs that may be Deaf, Blind, or DeafBlind. To top it all off, I am working on weaseling my way into Guide Dog puppy raising, and all the training tips that come along with that. ( : I commute to Salem Wednesday and Friday, which means my schedule during those days is usually pretty limited to anything after 430pm. Otherwise, my weekends are typically completely free and ready to be filled with whatever your fur babies need! Using the Fear Free method, I work with a pet's body language to determine what will work best in the current situation, and when methods may be effective versus stressful. I am ready to go at your pet's pace with whatever they may need, and clearly communicate the process along the way.

About: Hello! I'm just a natural born animal lover and have been surrounded by them all my life. I have over 15years experience working with animals in veterinary care and have a B.S in Animal Health Sciences. I have had experience with just about every breed and temperament of dog there is. While my passion is for dogs that does not mean I don't also love cats and have never been without one for a pet. My experience also includes caring for reptiles, rodents, pigs and even primates! My most fulfilling work was my time working as an animal health technician in an animal shelter. It brought me pure heartbreak and pure joy. It was so sad to see what conditions brought the animals to the shelter but was also rewarding knowing that I was making a difference in their lives. During my time working in shelters, I gained experience interacting with both shy dogs and aggressive dogs and am comfortable with both. While I've always had pets, I stepped away from working with animals to work in health care some years ago. I really miss the interaction with animals and caring for them. It is my one true passion. I feel I have an instinct into how an animal is feeling and am able to meet that need. I will always make sure your pet feels comfortable and secure. I'm currently working part-time in health care so have plenty of time open to care for your pet. I mostly have afternoons, evenings and weekends available. While in your home I will take all measures to ensure that your pet is safe and secure. We will leave no doors open and will always have a dog on a leash before walking out the door.

About: Animals have been part of my life for as long as I can remember, and I’ve never let myself go without having a dog. For over 25 years I’ve cared for pets of all ages, breeds, and temperaments - puppies through seniors, anxious rescues, and high-energy dogs. I’m in SW Portland with my Greater Swiss Mountain Dog Layla, and I provide you with updates so you can actually relax while you’re away. My Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, Layla, is two years old, easygoing, and great with all sizes — she just loves having a friend around. From energetic malamutes who love winter hikes in Forest Park, to chill cats who want a lap and a scratch. I've handled them all. About: I've always loved dogs of all sizes and I've been lucky enough to grow up around them. For fifteen years, I have walked, cared for, fed, trained and loved on as many dogs as I could. Whether they're cuddly or prefer their own space, want to play fetch for hours, or simply want a sniff filled walk in the park, I've enjoyed every moment of fur filled love and play. I have experience with dogs of all sizes from Saint Bernards and German Shepherds all the way to Pomeranians, Jack Russel Terriers, and all sizes in between. I have lots of experience with walking large and small dogs, whether they be amazing on a leash or like to pull you around at full strength and speed. I also have lots of experience reading canine body language, working with territorial or dog selective pups, even with anxious or high energy pups. I have a very flexible schedule and often I am available on short notice for walks, drop-ins, or short (1-2 nights) overnight stays. Whether your pup just needs a walk while you're at work or they need a friend for a few hours to play and feed them, I will always do my best to be available. I currently only do pet sitting in your pup's home environment, however I find this helps make all dogs much more comfortable when their favorite humans aren't around. I do have a large and very friendly dog of my own, Harley, who would happily join for a playdate if your pup would like a new friend. I will always do my best to take care of your pup just like you do and make them feel safe, loved, and happy.

About: I was born into a family of German Shepherd lovers, and grew up primarily taking care of our German Shepherds until about 10 years old when we also adopted cats and labradors. Once I graduated college, I adopted an 8 week old Alaskan malamute, who I cared for his entire 11 years of life until he passed just recently this past January. I am not ready to adopt again, but am missing the presence of dogs in my life and looking to fill that space by helping friends, family, neighbors and members of the community with their dog care needs. I am experienced with puppies, high maintenance animals, and especially with large breeds (my boy was 150lbs at a healthy weight and required at least 5 miles of exercise a day). I am kind, caring, uniquely experienced, energetic and reliable. I currently am only working/unavailable late Saturday and Sunday nights, and am extremely active during the week. I have plenty of free time in general. I am respectful to how you’d like your dog to be taken care of in your home and out and about, and also have my own set of everything (leashes, crate, toys, beds, etc) if need be.

In a client’s home, I prioritize safety, routine, and minimizing stress for the pet by following the owner’s instructions exactly as given. I make sure pets have fresh food and water, clean litter boxes or outdoor access, and receive attention and exercise based on their normal routine. I’m careful to secure doors, gates, and leashes to prevent escapes and always monitor behavior for any signs of stress or health concerns. With my biology and animal research background, I’m attentive to animal well-being and comfortable handling both cats and dogs responsibly and calmly.

About: I have 2 years of experience taking care of dogs! I am very patient with every pet who are still learning, and I am strictly committed to following every owner's specific feeding and medication routines. Im currently working as a cashier at Fred Meyer so communication it’s vital! I can work mostly on weekdays if you need but we can talk about weekends! I love to walk so we could be hours on it! Also I love to play and do different activities <3 I don’t have a mansion but my home is full of love!

About: I have a dog with seizures and I understand how much care is needed to care for him. I will treat your dog(s) with that same care and significance. I work early morning hours Thursday through Monday. I'm off work by 10:30am and can be available to walk, feed, administer medicatios and do drop in visits 7 days a week. I live in an apartment downtown that has a secured entry. I have a collapsible travel kennel that can hold a small to medium sized dog, I also have a wood kennel that can hold a pet up to 20lbs with plenty of room to spare. My 20lb Boston Terrier fits in it comfortably with enough room to stand up and turn around without any discomfort.

About: Growing up I always had animals, especially dogs and cats! I absolutely adored each and every one. I love animals of all sizes, and treat mine like my children. I will give your baby all the attention, snuggles, and love they want. I have many years of experience in caring for dogs and cats, and would love to spoil and care for yours just as I do mine! :) I work through out the week so during that time I have limited availability but I am flexible for drop-in’s most evenings and early mornings. I am completely available Friday through Sunday. I will keep a close eye on your baby and make sure to the best of my ability they’re safe at all times! If you have a certain schedule or routine for your babe I am happy to keep them on that as well. For boarding, I don’t have a yard at my apartment but have easy access to trails/parks for walks and frequent potty breaks!

About: I have a 4 year old excitable spaniel of my own who certainly keeps my life exciting! I have always lived with dogs and can’t imagine it any other way. But I also love cats! Nearly all my friends have cats and I have lots of experience pet-sitting for many of them. I love spending time around animals and would love to take care of yours! I have a full-time 8-5 job, but do have flexibility within my week. I wfh at least one day a week - sometimes more. Evenings and weekends are usually super open for me! About: Have always loved animals since I was aware they existed. I was the designated caregiver to the family animals growing up and was the go-to for pet sitting with neighbors and friends. I have an aptitude for communicating and caring for animals. I have an ecology degree, and I used to work for the Dallas Zoo. I have experience will all kinds of exotic animals as well. I had some interesting pets growing up including chickens, a pet pig, and a sugar glider. I currently have a dog-Indiana and 2 cats- Muir and Jonesy.
