“Danielle handled our two dogs with great care and we would absolutely trust her with our pups again! She was responsive, kind, and our dogs were happy and tired when we got back.”

“Andi is SO GREAT. She walked Ellie again several times this week and it’s been a breeze. She is really knowledgeable about dog psychology and different breeds, has a calm assertive energy and a common sense approach which I appreciate so much. I’ll be booking her services again and would definitely recommend her to others. Andi is just a very pleasant person and I’m so happy we found her! Thank you Andi!!”
About: Having grown up on a 20 acre farm for most of my life, I have cared for all shapes and sizes of animals - from horses to snakes, and everything in between! When I moved into an apartment for college, I missed the "dog energy" in our household and set to volunteering hundreds of hours at the Humane Society, which also included basic training skills and walking the most aggressive 100+lb leash pullers. This later evolved into working at a veterinary clinic where I was trained to monitor recovering animals and administer medications safely and with as little stress as possible through Fear Free certification. Animal body language is my second language! I love the outdoors as much as the indoors, and am more than happy to accommodate medical needs. ♡ If you would like extras taken care of during your pets stay or our visit, such as bathing, grooming, nail trims, or a run, just let me know! My dog, Leo, and I are constantly going on hikes and we are more than happy to tucker your pups out with a day trip, just reach out for rates. I currently work as a Braille Librarian for the state and used to teach Low Vision/Blind learners, and I am also fluent in American Sign Language (ASL), so I have a soft spot for dogs that may be Deaf, Blind, or DeafBlind. To top it all off, I am working on weaseling my way into Guide Dog puppy raising, and all the training tips that come along with that. ( : I commute to Salem Wednesday and Friday, which means my schedule during those days is usually pretty limited to anything after 430pm. Otherwise, my weekends are typically completely free and ready to be filled with whatever your fur babies need! Using the Fear Free method, I work with a pet's body language to determine what will work best in the current situation, and when methods may be effective versus stressful. I am ready to go at your pet's pace with whatever they may need, and clearly communicate the process along the way.
“Lucinda filled in for 3 days as a dog walker for my furry-faced chihuahua daughter. She showed patience and kindness to a somewhat skittish pup. I felt confident that she would provide the care my pup needed while I worked long days in medicine. I would not hesitate to hire her again or to recommend her.”

About: Am I a dog person or cat person? Can't choose, I've grown up around both! In fact, throw in bunnies and reptiles too: you name it, I've trained it. I bring a gentle energy to each and every pet, because just like people, they all have different and unique personalities. I'm currently a college student trying to fill time during the summer. My schedule is beyond free, so PLEASE I would be more than happy to take care of your pet. Routines are essential for pets, and I recognize that! I'm experienced in following all different types of quirky directions, so let me know exactly how your pets like it.

“Very patient with my wild child. She let Gunny be his happy self while also keeping him safe from himself. He likes to eat everything he sees. Great feedback on his reactions to other animals.”

“Alyson has been walking my little blind weenie for about a month now. My little girl loves her and is always so excited for her walk. Alyson is so sweet and gentle with her. Alyson communicates well and is prompt. I would highly recommend her!”

“Emma was fantastic with my dog! He took to her so quickly and he’s usually more shy/timid around strangers. She followed all instructions to a T and took a bunch of photos which I appreciate. I would absolutely recommend Emma to watch your fur babies!”

“Helped me out in a last minute request! My pup was so settled after his walks, I knew they had a good time and quality exercise. Also got to meet her dog, very gentle and sweet. 10/10”

About: I have been taking care of animals most of my life. I have had cats, dogs, birds, and reptiles over the years. I’m currently a stay at home mom to two kids and one cat. With the kids getting older I am looking for an opportunity to care for your wonderful pets and get a little exercise too! I have experience giving medications to cats and dogs. I am a stay at home mom to two school age children so I have a very flexible schedule. I can be available to your pets between 8am and 3pm. I am a very careful, responsible and mature person. Being reliable and communicative is important to me. I will care for your pets and home as if they were my own.
“Bethany was awesome me and my husband were going to be away on A trip our Dog Booker was staying home with our parents but they weren’t going to be able to give him the required exercise he needed so we figured we would give a dog walker a go! Bethany should up everyday to our house on time and Booker was always excited to see her! Each walk came with a picture and report which was great! Would definitely use Bethany again!”

About: Over 20 years of hands on pet care under my belt. I've been the go to walker and sitter for friends, family, and neighbors across Portland. From energetic malamutes who love winter hikes in Forest Park, to chill cats who want a lap and a scratch. I've handled them all. I know every pup's quirks, keep treats handy, and always come home with wagging tails and happy updates. Reliability is my thing: on time walks, clean pickups, and no drama. Let's get your furry crew out exploring. I am currently doing this part time and enjoy taking care of animals. I am fairly flexible on when I can be available for pet care. I love animals and treat all pets as if they were own. I can tailor to the owner and their pet to make sure everyone is comfortable.
About: Animals have been part of my life for as long as I can remember, and I’ve never let myself go without having a dog. For over 25 years I’ve cared for pets of all ages, breeds, and temperaments - puppies through seniors, anxious rescues, and high-energy dogs. Your animal is part of my family while they’re here, not just a guest and I genuinely enjoy having more dogs around, as does my dog! I’m in SW Portland with my Greater Swiss Mountain Dog Layla, and I provide you with updates so you can actually relax while you’re away. I work mostly from home, which means plenty of outdoor breaks and consistent supervision throughout the day. My Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, Layla, is two years old, easygoing, and great with all sizes — she just loves having a friend around. My kids (11 and 14) are here half the time and are natural animal lovers, so your pet will have no shortage of company and attention. Every pet deserves to feel safe and at home while their family is away, and that’s what I’m here to provide. I’d love to care for yours.
About: I have a very positive personality that I bring out in all work that I do. I am a practicing Speech Language Pathologist with a 3 year old pup of my own—Louie. I have taken care of pets through rover, as well as used it for my own pet care needs. I moved around the Portland area a bit, so I took a break from Rover, but now my life is more settled and I’m happy to take your fur-babies on walks, or drop in! I live in Mountain Park and would be happy to cover any “last minute” dog needs that you have. My schedule will allow for 1-3 walks/drop in visits per day. My most availability is Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I pride myself in being thorough and paying attention to detail. I will follow any and all instructions that you provide. Having a dog of my own, I can supply poop bags and treats if necessary.

About: I have helped train and take care of many dogs old dogs that have been on hospice and dogs that are a couple months old. I help with Guide Dogs for the Blind and help train guide dog puppies before they are one. We have a Guide Dog puppy in our care right now so I wake up feed him, potty him and leave for school. Come home potty him sometimes take time to train and walk him and play. I snuggle with my cat and he falls asleep right away in my lap after doing his biscuits. When ever our dogs are in the yard I even though we have a fence make sure they are safe and have gone to the bathroom. Talking and playing with the dogs to make sure they know I am a safe person. Same with cats they can be timid so not rushing to pet or be to close to their safe space. Let them tell me what they need/want.
About: After our first poodle passed away in my family, we got Milo, a beautiful happy standard poodle who everyone loves. My mother had passed away, so I had to learn how to take care of a puppy with my dad at the ripe age of 12! Definitely hard, and i definitely learned a lot. I’ve walked many dogs, babysat, and simply enjoy the energy these animals encompass. Please reach out if you need someone, i’ve been told many times that i have a comforting energy and unless there is an issue unrelated to me, I’ve never had an animal dislike me. I’m new to Rover so it’s been tough finding new clients but I promise if you hire me I won’t let you down. I just graduated from the University of Oregon and I’d love to form relationships with new clients and maintain a happy relationship with their pups. :) I work 4 days a week at Trader Joe’s also! When he was with me, I’d typically I take milo out 2-3 times a day. Our walks typically last 15-45 minutes and I let him sniff at (almost!) whatever he wants. I have a lot of patience, so I don’t mind. I shower him and any dog in my care with lots of love and cuddles. However, I also can tell right away if certain ones like to be left alone.
The median cost per walk for dog walking in Maplewood-Ashcreek is $20

Kerensa is awesome with pets and people. She gained the trust of my very anxious untrusting pitt mix so much that he was excited for her to come for his walks! She's very intuitive and makes sure your pups are safe and happy and adjusts as needed to make this so. I always know my bestie is in good hands, safe and happy with Kerensa when I have to be away.
Emma took great care of our dog on her drop in visit/walk! Our dog Hoku loves her and was so happy to see her. I trust Emma with my pets and it puts my mind at ease knowing they will be in great hands when we are away from home! She is so dependable, I will definitely continue to rebook her!

Alexander came for a first solo walk with our 65 lb dog-reactive girl, and reported that everything went well! We were sent a lot of great pictures. At the meet-and-greet, Alexander really listened and absorbed all the mitigation strategies that we have for the leash reactivity (even taking notes!). Thank you, Alexander!

Lucinda filled in for 3 days as a dog walker for my furry-faced chihuahua daughter. She showed patience and kindness to a somewhat skittish pup. I felt confident that she would provide the care my pup needed while I worked long days in medicine. I would not hesitate to hire her again or to recommend her.

Annalei is great at communicating information and responds very quickly to messages. It had been a while since our pup had been walked by someone other than us but our dog recognized Annalei right away from a few years ago and eagerly went on a walk with her. Annalei is very kind and patient and we felt so comfortable (and grateful she came all the way back to our neighborhood) to walk our dog.

This was our first time having Kayley care for Baja and she was amazing! Kayley’s communications and updates were excellent and she went above and beyond on some visits to help with other things. We’ll definitely request her again the next time we need help with dog walking.
