What sets me apart is my lifelong, hands-on experience caring for animals combined with a strong scientific and responsible work background. I have cared for dogs, cats, and even a pet pig since childhood, and I currently have a cat. I’ve also regularly pet sat for neighbors and family friends since I was 12, including animals with different temperaments and needs. My biology and environmental science training, along with research experience maintaining live animal systems, has strengthened my attention to animal health, behavior, and safety. I’m also dependable, detail-oriented, and experienced in caregiving roles, including childcare and supervision, which translates well to responsible pet care and reliability for owners.

In a client’s home, I prioritize safety, routine, and minimizing stress for the pet by following the owner’s instructions exactly as given. I make sure pets have fresh food and water, clean litter boxes or outdoor access, and receive attention and exercise based on their normal routine. I’m careful to secure doors, gates, and leashes to prevent escapes and always monitor behavior for any signs of stress or health concerns. With my biology and animal research background, I’m attentive to animal well-being and comfortable handling both cats and dogs responsibly and calmly.

Alexander treated our 3 Maine coons like his own fur babies. And he took equally excellent care of some home chores we asked him to do (such as putting out the garbage cans). We have already booked him again!
Alexander came for a first solo walk with our 65 lb dog-reactive girl, and reported that everything went well! We were sent a lot of great pictures. At the meet-and-greet, Alexander really listened and absorbed all the mitigation strategies that we have for the leash reactivity (even taking notes!). Thank you, Alexander!
Alex has been such a life saver with taking care of my dogs and cat. He is a true animal lover and pays them such great care, affection, and respect. I can actually feel relaxed now when I'm away from the pets because I know they're being looked after well. Not only has Alex accomodated my work schedule, he's also been flexible with scheduling around my pet's specific needs, like meds and scheduled playtime. He's always been on time, reliable, and great at giving me some peace of mind by sending me and my husband regular updates.

Schedule
Pet care fits very naturally into my weekly routine. I am currently not working and I have a car, so I have full flexibility for visits, walks, or check-ins throughout the day. During the summer, I have no school commitments, which means I am essentially fully available and can adjust my schedule around pet needs, including mornings, evenings, and last-minute care if needed. I am reliable, organized, and used to balancing responsibility from my academic and research background, so I can consistently prioritize pet care without scheduling conflicts.
