“Taking care of pets is a labor of love for Maddy. She would probably do this for free. And that's exactly the kind of passion you want in a pet sitter. She went above and beyond the call of duty always spending more time then required. She played fetch with my dog, let her play in the creek and then even gave her a bath using her own soap and towel! She's a true animal lover and even feed the stray cats during her visit.”

“I’m so thankful to Kayla! Our cat hurt his paw right before leaving for the weekend and it was such an anxiety relief to have someone dependable and caring to go check on him. We have been lucky enough to have Kayla take care of our cats a handful of times now and they are much happier when we get home. I can tell they were well loved on!”

“I was so thankful to have Molly take care of my kitten while I was gone. He’s usually very shy, but I could tell he felt safe with her by how playful he was being. He was well taken care of and would definitely have her care for him again!”

“Tayla was amazing! She went above and beyond to make sure our cat was taken care of when we were out of town! She spent extra time and attention to make sure that our cat was comfortable and eating after a fire alarm went off. I can’t recommend her enough!”

“I booked Annie last minute to watch my cat over the holidays and she was excellent! She was punctual and thorough and I’m incredibly grateful she was able to be so accommodating.”

“Celeste was an excellent and responsive communicator and on top of all pet care instructions. She has a love for animals and her connection to my kitty made me feel very comfortable to leave him in her care. She was amazing and I will look forward to booking with her in the future :)”

“I have used Carmen as a petsitter a couple times while I’ve been out of town for a few days. She sent me lots of pictures and was super responsive and I would book with her again”

“Trace was amazing and went above beyond to make sure my little guy was taken care of. She was also really helpful with house stuff in general and made sure the house was well taken care of while I was out.”

“Taylor took *wonderful* care of my cats! She did everything I asked, sent succinct and helpful summaries, and - most telling of all - both cats were healthy and happy upon my return. She seems highly competent and I would hire her again in a heartbeat.”

“Julia is great with my dog Brees and takes a lot into consideration when dealing with my anxious pup. She is great with communication and my dog loves to see her when she comes in!”

“Evita was amazing!! This was our first time using rover and she made it a breeze. She was very accommodating to our cat, who can be quite anxious and have an attitude at times. We will be booking with Evita any time we need a pet sitter!!”

“Took great care of my place and two kitties while we were away! I'm always anxious leaving the babies but I felt good knowing that Rebecca was taking care of them.”

“Niki cared a lot about my two cats while I went on a short trip. She communicated daily and sent pictures. Thanks for watching over Spooky and Eerie!”

About: LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent friendly! My home: 1 bedroom apartment, ground floor. Live with my partner. Do not hesitate to ask for lower rates! I like to be as respectful and loving to animals as much as I can. I prefer to let them come to me, and show that I am not a threat. All I want is for animals to feel comfortable. I work a part-time job, so any time between that would be great to fill with cute animals. I don't have any pets of my own. Make sure they have a safe and comfortable environment. Make sure I check on them and give them love. With respect, I make sure the animal senses that I am there for them. Positive reinforcement only. I will never let another animal interact with your dog, or let a stranger touch your dog.
“Raven was such a great help for my trip. Reliable, trustworthy, and took good care of my dogs. One of my dogs can be a bit tetchy with new people and Raven knew exactly how to handle it (ignore ignore ignore) till he came around and I was really grateful for that level headedness. Definitely plan to hire Raven again!”

“Christopher was absolutely amazing! He played with our boy and sent us lots of pictures. He will be my first choice going forward! I cannot more highly recommend this guy!”

“Milo did a great job communicating ahead of the drop in visits and during the drop in visits by providing plenty of notes and pictures. I will happily use Milo again for future cat sitting jobs!”

“Jourdan was fantastic! They were flexible and understanding with my last minute booking and were thorough and communicative and sent great pictures of my cats. I came home to happy and healthy cats who I knew were well cared for! Can’t recommend highly enough.”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Portland
Kamrie was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! She is one of the first sitters on here that I have really felt heard by :) I have 4 cats, one of which is on oral Fluoxetine and is at a dose that requires tapering, and causes side effects when a dose is missed. One of my main points of concern with choosing a sitter was that they would do whatever necessary (in the realm of their own safety of course) to ensure she gets her daily dose while I was out of town. Additionally, I have a specific way of preparing their meals competes (as there are a lot of cats lol). Kamrie came for a very pleasant meet and greet where I walked through preparing and heating the competes, towel wrapping my med kitty, and a demonstration of how to give her med. She went above and beyond for my kitties <3 Made their meals exactly how I do!! She scooped all 4 of my litter boxes, and cleaned and replaced the potty pads in the pad box (this is the box my anti-litter, med kitty uses mostly, she is a lil mentally challenged in her own way <3). Water bowls were replaced twice a day, boxes done twice a day!! Runi (med kitty) got her medication, their food was made perfect, and she even asked to stay longer one night to give the kitties an extra 30 minutes of play time and care, free of cost <3 Kamrie is an OUTSTANDING pet sitter!! I know it can feel a little uncertain to hire sitters who dont have pages of reviews YET, but she has tremendous experience with caring for animals ❤️ I will definitely hire her again!! Her rates are extremely reasonable too!!! Thank you Kamrie for taking such wonderful care of my babies 💞 I'm so happy to have you in my corner now, and will be reaching out to you next time I need a sitter!!!

She is amazing. I highly recommend this pet sitter. I have two cats and one of them is fairly standoffish and nervous around people. And for some unknown reason, this cat, is in love with her. I had no idea he could be so sweet and cuddly with people and somehow, something magical about her makes him safe and feel loved. I'm almost a little bit jealous of her as a result. I don't think he's ever been as cuddly with me as he is with her. He's a wonderful cat but he definitely has human preferences.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
