About: I want your pet to feel like they're with a friend, so I go out of my way to build their trust and ensure they have a positive experience. Though not currently a pet owner, I've had several pets throughout my life and have volunteered for both the Humane Society and a wildlife hospital, where I gained experience with administering care and medicine to animals. I'm semi-retired, so have the time and flexibility to do things that I love-and one of the things I love most is spending time with animals! I take extra care with pets to "meet them where they are," which means paying attention to their cues and adjusting my approach to ensure they feel safe. My goal is to build their trust and make sure they feel safe and cared for.
About: I grew up bringing cats home, and have always been concerned with the humane treatment of animals. I am a conscientious animal lover who knows that dogs need to explore and sniff outside to calm themselves and to feed their interests. Most cats like to get repeatedly "combed" with damp hands to remove dust and loose fur. I listen to a dog to find what pace and range they are comfortable with, and let them go with their curiosity. Once a pet knows me, they are often overwhelmed with excitement to go out for their personal adventure; then I know that my work is for good - they are having fun and experiencing nature. The goal is to make your pet's life more fulfilled, calm and happy. Cheryl I work part-time, four hour shifts. When I stay with a pet I adjust my work schedule so that I work few shifts and enjoy my time with the pet. I strive to be away no longer than 5.5 hours at a time. For dog walking only services, a dog usually needs much longer than 30 minutes per walk, so I recommend booking for an hour. I am open to adjusting the fee if necessary. I no longer bring new pets into my home because I had one elder dog staying who was incontinent and it was a problem with wall to wall carpeting...
