Moira was an absolutely wonderful pet sitter! She took great care of our old dog and gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. She was reliable, caring, and clearly treated them like her own. We really appreciated the updates and knowing they were in such good hands. We would highly recommend Moira to anyone looking for a trustworthy and dependable pet sitter!

Moira could not have been a better dog sitter in any way. Moira was very communicative and sent many photos and updates throughout my dog's stay with her. Thanks Moira!

Moira was awesome! She took such great care of Rufus, sent a lot of pictures every day and filled me in on how he was while I was away! She went above and beyond with the meet and greet, having Rufus explore the place before going there to stay. She took him on walks and made sure to have water available and a foldable bowl for any moment he needed to drink. She was thoughtful throughout every part! I highly recommend her and couldn’t be happier with my Rover experience. :)

Moira is AMAZING!!! She delivered personalized attention to our 2 year old pup. Helping us with training her not to pull on the leash. We appreciate the feed back everyday and of course the videos. We will be using Moira for months to come. Thank you Maura

Schedule

I’m a stay at home girl with plenty of time on my hands that I like to spend doing what I love, which is caring for animals of all shapes and sizes. This is my only job, and your pet will get my full devoted attention! BTW, while my profile may say only 80% when it comes to sending pictures, this is just because for a couple of my jobs I was requested to send the pictures directly to the owners phone number, so it didn’t get picked up on by the app. I love to take photos of the dogs I work with, and accompany them with a thorough update on how they are doing. I send at least one photo and update every day, but usually much more than that, because I simply love giving them photoshoots and writing about their day! No worries if you can’t reply to my messages, as they are for you to enjoy and view at your leisure.

Safety, trust & environment

I live in an apartment with only one door in or out, and I watch it like a hawk when there’s any comings or goings. While I don’t have a yard, there is a dog park just around the corner from my building, and there’s always plenty of availability to get to have the space to myself. I don’t take them there if there’s other dogs, because I absolutely refuse to risk a conflict occurring. There’s also a beautiful creekside trail that runs adjacent to my apartment complex that dogs absolutely love to explore! The proximity to the creek keeps the area nice and cool, and there’s lots of trees to provide shade as well. Even so, I always bring a large water bottle and collapsible bowl to offer water as soon as they start to pant. I know what to look for to make sure they’re not overheating, and walks are kept short if it’s 80°or higher. I have two kitties that are very used to all the doggy craziness, and they have plenty of spaces to hide under or climb up out of reach. Zephyr is skittish and likes to mind his business, while Frankie ADORES dogs and people and will make friends with anyone and everyone.

Pets

A typical day

Bringing a toy or two from home is recommended to make your dog feel at home, but I always keep a good supply of my own here for them to play with. I love to spend my days playing with the dogs I work with, as well as going on nice long trail walks if the weather is safe for it. If your dog needs more mental stimulation than physical, then I have plenty of tricks up my sleeve to get their little brains working! I like to make a game out of hiding treats for them to find inside a bag of toys, or practicing their tricks, or trying to teach them new tricks. I have dehydrated beef liver treats here, but I always check first that there’s no allergies to consider before giving them. I’m not a certified trainer (yet), but I attempt to teach every dog I work with what I call Boundary Training. This involves getting them to sit and wait for a release command. I do this before we leave for a walk, before we cross roads, and before mealtime. The words I use are “Wait” for waiting, and “Okay!” for release.

Please let me know absolutely anything to make your dog feel happy and at home! Dogs can be very particular, and I do not judge “odd” requests, I welcome them! All dogs are welcome on my couches and on my bed as long as they’re not territorial about them. I also have a kennel with comfy bedding if they need a a safe space to hide away, and a big cushy dog bed. I always keep up my stock of toys and will not hold it against you or your dog if they tear them up, as that is what they are for. I have dehydrated beef liver treats I can give them, and I usually have wet food if they need something extra to convince them to eat. I always ask approval before giving any foodstuff not provided by the owner, because I know doggy tummies can be real delicate. Feel free to ask any questions! I am always available during the day, and do my very best to give as speedy of a reply as possible! Thank you for considering me!
