About: I’ve had dogs, cats, and small animals my whole life. I’ve even fostered with rescues in the past. I recently lost my own dog and thought maybe I could cuddle someone else’s while they travel. I work from home and have a fully fenced yard which your pet would have access to at any time they like! I work from home for the Dept of Veterans Affairs and usually have the back door open for access to the fenced yard throughout the day. Outside of errands, I am typically home with them. I have a fenced yard with plenty of access for the pets. When they’re here, they’re family so if they want in the sofa: great! Sleep in bed: even better! Or if they prefer the safety of their crate, that’s good too. I want them to feel comfortable. Unless they’re from the same household, I prefer to keep one dog at a time to make sure they get undivided attention. But, if they’re social and like to play, I live super close to the dog park! If you just want drop-in visits or walks, just let me know how I can best accommodate and I’ll be happy to work something out to suit your needs.
About: "As a dedicated and reliable pet caregiver, i will provide an experience tailored to your dog’s unique personality and needs. I understand that your dog is a beloved family member, which is why I prioritize maintaining their familiar routine—from specific feeding times and favorite walking routes to their preferred sleeping spots. Whether your pup is an energetic adventurer who needs plenty of playtime or a calm senior who appreciates gentle companionship and belly rubs, I offer attentive, one-on-one care in a safe and loving environment. You can travel with total peace of mind knowing I provide regular photo updates, clear communication, and the same level of affection I give my own pets. My goal is to ensure your dog stays happy, healthy, and tired out until your return!" As a part-time employed Mom and Grandma, I like to be busy and have time to spare for loving more than just my family and pets. At this moment, I have 3 dogs and two cats, all who need my personal attention several times a day. I would love to do that for you too. I know what it’s like to be stressed about your kitty or dog while away and I can help relieve that, even for just a day or a week.
“This is my second time booking with her, and she’s been amazing both times! She always lets me know when she’s on her way, sends daily updates with lots of pictures, and takes such great care of my cats. Being away from them is so much less stressful knowing they’re in such good hands. She’s incredibly kind, reliable, and communicative, and I always come home to two happy, well-cared-for cats. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy pet sitter—I will definitely be booking with her again!”

“Sydney was so amazing with our cats! She made sure that they were well taken care of and got lots of love. We can't thank her enough for how well she took care of our cats!”

About: I have dog sat multiple times for family friends, usually 3 dogs at a time, no problem. The owners always return to their dogs being happy and healthy. I am self employed now so I am very flexible and will be available pretty much all day to take care of your fur babies. I am very flexible caring for your animals in whatever way you’re most comfortable with and whatever ways work well for your fur baby.
“Jessica was wonderful! I could tell immediately upon meeting her that she has a deep connection with animals. She was also so kind to my 5 yr old son and took on our job last minute which I really appreciate so much. She was very kind and connected really well with our cat. She took great care of everything, kept things clean, and even cleaned up litter that our cat had spilled. Her communication was excellent, and she sent lots of pictures and updates while we were away. It gave me so much peace of mind and helped me actually relax and enjoy my vacation knowing our cat was in good hands. I would absolutely book with her again! Highly recommend!!! Thank you Jessica!”

“Kristen, was excellent with Millie. It was fairly easy for me to relax away from Millie, as I knew Katelin was taking such good care of Millie. All the pictures she took, helped, tremendously. I trust Rover, and will definitely use them again, and request Kristen”

“Jenny was fantastic! You can tell she genuinely loves caring for animals. Her comments and photos brought a smile to my face knowing my pup was well tended to! Thank you for your glowing energy, Jenny!”

“I’m a very anxious pet mom and was terrified to leave my boys with anyone but Isabella eased all my worries. Seeing all of the photos each visit, all I could see from my boys was nothing but happiness, and the fun that they were having. Anyone would be thrilled to have Isabella be the one taking care of their family.”

About: I've had cats and dogs my whole life, have been feeding stray cats in my neighborhood for years, and I've been pet-sitting for the past 6 years! I've watched all kinds of animals, including big and small dogs, friendly and scaredy-cats, a dog who wore diapers, and a blind dog. My animal care experience also includes chickens, goats, cows, and bearded dragons! I've never been one to shy away from any animal, no matter what its needs are. I'm currently on summer break from college, so I'm free all day to watch your pets! Call on me early in the morning, late at night, or anytime in between, and I'll be available. I am dedicated to understanding each pet's particular needs so I can provide quality care and companionship for them. I'm also committed to keeping your home clean, and I'm not scared of cleaning up any messes your animals may make. I'm easy to reach by phone, so you don't need to worry about contacting me for any reason.
“Brooklyn did a great job taking care of my kitty when I had to go out of town on short notice. She was wonderful to work with, her attention to detail and communication skills are top notch. My shy cat quickly warmed up to her after a few visits. This shows that Brooklyn is great with animals, as my pet is very selective about who she trusts. I look forward to booking with Brooklyn again and I would highly recommend her to others looking for a pet sitter.”

“Madelyn has taken care of our Buddy a couple of times and I can’t recommend her enough. She is highly attentive and super detail-oriented when it comes to ensuring he gets equal (and better!) treatment in our absence. Madelyn was able to build quick rapport with Buddy and we have never felt less than confident he’s getting the best care while we are away.”

“Chelsea is amazing! We will definitely be re-booking with her! She is great with communication, asking any questions, and thorough in her visits and follow ups.”

“Kassandra was an amazing visitor for my cat, who is extremely shy. Kassandra still managed to capture some photos and videos of my pet to send to me, which made me feel a lot better about leaving home. Kassandra was thorough in learning my pet's routine before the appointments and accommodated my cat's quirks. I definitely recommend this sitter!”

“Jessica answered my call for help quickly! She took care of Maple who needed a day off today…when I had to work! Let me know about a minor accident! Thanks Jessica!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Proebstel
Our orange tabby is not the most friendly cat. However Jessica wove her magic and he immediately took to her. The photos clearly show that he adored having her (and her treats) here at our house. We arrived home to a very happy kitty (gone 3+ weeks). Leo and his people all agree she is a winner!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Proebstel. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
