“Very happy with how everything went. Siyi (Alice) agreed to meet the day before with the dog our Charlie would be spending the day with. On the day we got regular updates and it was clear he had enjoyed himself and had lots of exercise. I’d be happy to rebook in future.”

“Really happy to have found Isabel. She couldn’t have been more friendly or accommodating and Sherlock took to her immediately. We met beforehand to make sure everybody was comfortable, which is always helpful and makes the handover process easier. And when my train was delayed, meaning I was going to be late to pick up, Isabel was kind enough to agree to alternative arrangements. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Isabel.”

“Eirini was the perfect dog sitter. She kept us updated all day and sent us lots of photos. We were delighted to have her look after Bea. 10/10 would recommend”

“Stephanie has been great with Benji. She took the time to meet us before the booking and was really understanding of his nervous ways. Second time I dropped him off he was so happy and relaxed to see his new friend. Great communication and really friendly. Highly recommend 😊”

“Yaning helped out with Sherlock at fairly short notice and could not have been more accommodating, offering to pick up and drop off at times that suited my hectic schedule. She clearly loves dogs and Sherlock took to her immediately, heading off enthusiastically for each day’s adventure. I am very happy to have found her and look forward to booking again.”

“My pup came back shattered and satisfied! Lysimachos was super flexible and willing to accommodate, asked me about any of my pup’s needs and kept me very well informed through the day with pictures and videos, he did a wonderful job!”

“Samuel was fantastic! He took great care of Happy and arrived right on time for both dropoff and pick-up. He kept me updated throughout, and Happy looked really happy and relaxed in the photos and videos he shared. Would definitely book again next time I’m in town 😊 P.S. Phoebe is absolutely adorable 😄”

“Jennifer and her daughter were the perfect hosts for Crumble. They were lovely with Crumble, attentive and caring, just what an older dog needed. Crumble was relaxed and happy, obviously made to feel right at home. Thank you”

About: Hello, my name is Claire and I’ve cared for animals my whole life. Capable of looking after dogs, cats and other animals. As a child I was taught how to best provide care for our pets, cats and dogs. I would take responsibility for both and loved doing so. I’ve been consistently pet sitting for the last 3 years. I can work with young animals with lots of energy as well as older pets. I can administer medication and help with any additional needs. I have a 5 star rating on the Cat in a Flat app. I’m joining Rover as I would like to help care for dogs as well as cats. I have been a dog walker for neighbours over the last 5 years. I’ve just relocated to the Abbey Hill in Edinburgh and would love to build up a regular client base. I am out and about at Holyrood Park most days. All the best to you and your furry friends! Claire xx I work from home and I am self employed. My hours are flexible and can suit whatever you need. I’m open to overnights and can attend on short notice. I am very respectful and I like to give time for animals to get to know me, to see that they can trust me. Once your pet is at ease and happy with me I can offer as much love as they like. I also take care in the homes of others to ensure that things are left as I found them. I am clean and careful.
About: I looked after my family dogs and friends dogs too. I had lots of pets in the past because I love animals and I had a field. I work from home and have a lovely dog. I live by the meadows and take my dog for amazing walks. It is an opportunity to enjoy the company of best human friends in a pleasant atmosphere. Dogs who came here had the time of their lives. Friends suggested me I should be looking after dogs. I have a lovely dog. I work from home flexible hours so they are all day with me, right next to me getting cuddles and attention and exercise. I have a nice fenced garden, a cosy living room and kitchen. I live by the meadows in Edinburgh, dogs paradise. I only need to cross over to the most amazing park.

“Katherine is lovely. Our dog is very happy to spend time with her. He starts wagging his tail when he sees her. I know he is very well taken care of so I don’t worry when I am away. Katherine is very quick to respond to any questions I have and helpful with my bookings. I would highly recommend her.”

About: I’ve had animals in my life since I was very small, starting off with mice and a floofy hamster! I had my first dog aged 8 and was always around family animals (including ferrets that my uncle owned 🙂). This is the first time in my life where I don’t have any around due to my work commitments and I would really like to use my spare time to make new furry friends 🐶 I have experience with large and small dog breeds. I have owned a Rottweiler and Westie and looked after many chihuahuas! I have also cared for cats while my friends are on holiday, making sure they are well looked after. I currently work full time Monday to Thursday as a compressed week, with my days off being Friday to Sunday. This gives me plenty free time for pet care on these days and evenings. I live in a top floor one bedroom flat (no lift). I am happy to look after animals here if it is suitable for them. I have no other pets and no children.
“Kathryn was absolutely wonderful. She was kind enough to meet us before our first dog sitting experience so she could get to know our pup. She was responsive and so gentle with his dog anxiety. We are looking forward to using her again!”

“Lorenzo has taken great care of Mylo since he was just 6 or 7 months old and Mylo always goes to Lorenzo happily and comes home with a wagging tail! Lorenzo is very flexible with my work hours and sometimes last minute requests and changes and is great at keeping in touch woth lots of photos of Mylo playing happily with his own dogs. Would always recommend Lorenzo for your own dog care!”

“Laura helped me out with some last minute daycare and was very communicative and took great care of my dog. She also made the time to arrange a meet and greet in advance so that my dog would know who he was going to stay, with which I think really helped. Thanks Laura!”

About: Have looked after dogs of my family and for others since I was a teenager and enjoy nothing more! Experience training and looking after younger dogs, like my sisters Border Collie, as well as caring for senior dogs like my parents 13 year old Lakeland Terrier Rory - as well as others I have dog sat along the way! I work from home Monday to Thursday as a designer with flexible working hours, I’d love to have a wfh buddy! I’m available all day on Fridays but prefer boarding from 2pm and can be more flexible on weekends. I don’t have any pets, so yours will have my undivided attention! I live in a first floor flat so can be out in the fenced garden in under a minute for toilet breaks, and there are lots of lovely parks nearby for walks. There is space for a crate in my flat if that is what you would prefer, and also a comfy sofa for naps during the day! I like to keep my space clean and tidy, and keep that the same in others homes. Having ran an AirBnB in the past, and 6 years of babysitting, I understand the trust needed to look after someone’s home and respect that.

I can't thank cait enough for looking after my boy he is a very nervous dog and can cry when I leave him but cait worked her magic and my dog had the best day she sent me lots of photos I loved seeing how he got on with his day I can wait for Harley to meet you again

Fraser has been amazing! I have a Labrador retriever puppy called Bruna, who comes from a working line and can be very high energy and high maintenance. Before finding Fraser, I wouldn't have trusted Bruna with anyone, as I had some previous negative experiences with other dog sitters that couldn't cope with the energy level and the specific requirements needed to look after a Labrador Retriever puppy. I am so grateful that I found Fraser, as he is extremely knowledgeable and professional, and Bruna liked him at first sight, the very first time we went to his house to meet him. I have left Bruna with Fraser for a whole day of doggy day care, and when I picked her up at the end of the day, she looked very happy and relaxed.
Sihang took wonderful care of Roy, and I couldn’t have been happier with the experience. She was so sweet with him and kept me updated throughout with photos, which gave me real peace of mind while I was away. I felt completely relaxed knowing Roy was in such caring hands. I highly recommend Sihang and will definitely be booking with her again!

Velveth was great! It was a short notice booking request but she was able to accommodate and responded very quickly to booking request. Also she suggested meeting up briefly the evening before so that Monty was familiar with her. I received photos and updates while Monty was with her and I got back a very tired dog at the end of the day.

Jude had a great time with Elizabeth and she welcomed her like her own. She had great communication from start to finish and let us know that Jude was settling in well, which is always such a relief to have that reassurance that your pup is happy 😊 Will definitely be using her again to look after Jude

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Scotland may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
