“Stephanie is so lovely with Lumi when I needed day care a few times! Stephanie is easy to communicate with and Lumi clearly had the best time. She came home happy and tired in the best ways. I'll definitely keep booking with Stephanie.”

“Eirini was so kind and thoughtful with Benji. She took lots of care to get to know about him at the meet and greet and then really made him feel at home. Thank you for taking such great care of Benji. We will definitely book again ☺️”

“Siyi was amazing with Rufus and kept us updated along the way! We were staying in Edinburgh as a last minute getaway and she was very accommodating! You can feel her warmth from the moment you meet her and we had no doubt we were leaving our 6 month old puppy in good hands. She even makes home made dog cookies which he loved! Thank you so much ❤️”

“Nicole is absolutely wonderful with my spaniel girl, and is super reliable, accommodating and great with communication. I’m an anxious dog mum, but always feel calm and reassured leaving my Martha with Nicole. I highly recommend her. One of the absolute top dog sitters in Edinburgh.”

“Samuel was fantastic! He took great care of Happy and arrived right on time for both dropoff and pick-up. He kept me updated throughout, and Happy looked really happy and relaxed in the photos and videos he shared. Would definitely book again next time I’m in town 😊 P.S. Phoebe is absolutely adorable 😄”

“Really happy to have found Isabel. She couldn’t have been more friendly or accommodating and Sherlock took to her immediately. We met beforehand to make sure everybody was comfortable, which is always helpful and makes the handover process easier. And when my train was delayed, meaning I was going to be late to pick up, Isabel was kind enough to agree to alternative arrangements. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Isabel.”

About: New to Rover but my partner and I have great experience of looking after pets during house sitting as well as for family and friends. I grew up with a family dog, and my partner grew up on a farm in New Zealand with lots of animals including dogs of various sizes and cats - we are both very familiar with what is required to care for pets! I work in professional services and hybrid between home and office, my partner is in between roles so someone will always be here to look after your pet! I work a hybrid role between the office and home Mon-Friday. My partner is in between roles at the moment so will be fully available to look after your pet. We live in a flat with a shared garden space with a fence. We have a lift in the apartment so no requirement to take the stairs
“Would highly recommend Jennifer. She took really great care of our dog and shared lovely updates throughout his stay. Will definitely contact again when we’re in the area.”

“Leanne is a star. She took such good care of my wee dog and shared photos throughout the day. She is relaxed and friendly, and formed an immediate rapport with my dog. I would highly recommend her.”

“Katherine is lovely. Our dog is very happy to spend time with her. He starts wagging his tail when he sees her. I know he is very well taken care of so I don’t worry when I am away. Katherine is very quick to respond to any questions I have and helpful with my bookings. I would highly recommend her.”

“Lorenzo has taken great care of Mylo since he was just 6 or 7 months old and Mylo always goes to Lorenzo happily and comes home with a wagging tail! Lorenzo is very flexible with my work hours and sometimes last minute requests and changes and is great at keeping in touch woth lots of photos of Mylo playing happily with his own dogs. Would always recommend Lorenzo for your own dog care!”

“Jasmine was fantastic! I left my energentic spaniel with her for the day, and picked up a very happy (and very tired) pup in the evening. Jasmine had clearly done a great job, seeing as my dog kept protesting on the walk home, wanting me to turn around and go back 😂”

About: Hello, my name is Claire and I’ve cared for animals my whole life. Capable of looking after dogs, cats and other animals. As a child I was taught how to best provide care for our pets, cats and dogs. I would take responsibility for both and loved doing so. I’ve been consistently pet sitting for the last 3 years. I can work with young animals with lots of energy as well as older pets. I can administer medication and help with any additional needs. I have a 5 star rating on the Cat in a Flat app. I’m joining Rover as I would like to help care for dogs as well as cats. I have been a dog walker for neighbours over the last 5 years. I’ve just relocated to the Abbey Hill in Edinburgh and would love to build up a regular client base. I am out and about at Holyrood Park most days. All the best to you and your furry friends! Claire xx I work from home and I am self employed. My hours are flexible and can suit whatever you need. I’m open to overnights and can attend on short notice. I am very respectful and I like to give time for animals to get to know me, to see that they can trust me. Once your pet is at ease and happy with me I can offer as much love as they like. I also take care in the homes of others to ensure that things are left as I found them. I am clean and careful.
“Kathryn was absolutely wonderful. She was kind enough to meet us before our first dog sitting experience so she could get to know our pup. She was responsive and so gentle with his dog anxiety. We are looking forward to using her again!”

“Aimee is nothing short of brilliant!!! She loves dogs and has a lovely well behaved one of her own! Hachi absolutely loved her ! She took good care of Hachi ; brought him for proper walks and made sure he ate and play . Love love her!!! I cannot recommend her enough!”

About: Hey, we're Laura & Reece! We are both HUGE dog lovers and have owned dogs since we were young. Now at 26 & 29 we have a 4 year old pup called Eddie that lives with us in the New Town. He's the ginger and white dog in the photos). Eddie loves his walks and meeting new dogs so we thought why not offer to look after some more in the community and give him some company in the process. Reece's day job is as a remote Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, and therefore flexible with his working hours and always at home. Whilst Laura is a Personal Stylist who's schedule can vary. We are both very caring, trustworthy and reliable people, so you will know your dog is in safe hands with us! We will be offering flexible dog walking, dog sitting, day care, and overnight boarding. We have access to Queen Street Gardens with Eddie so if you too have access for your dog, we can take them there together. Our property does not have a garden attached, but we are active dog owners who regularly take our own dog out for the toilet and walks. If you have any questions, or want a quick chat, please let us know! As we are already a dog owner, our life and work are centred around our dog's care. We take him for long walks each day and manage work and social life around his needs. With advanced notice, we can easily accommodate flexible care for new dogs. Our dogs are well cared for with lots of attention and cuddles, plenty of toys and beds around the house (we do allow our dog on all the furniture, but if yours isn't we can accommodate that). We follow as much routine as possible so our dogs know what to expect, and when to expect it. Meal times are consistent each day as well as play time.

About: I’ve had dogs in the family since I was young. I also have 5 + years of dog sitting experience. Ranging from daycare to several weeks holiday care. I also have had experience volunteering at a dog grooming shop where I helped look after the dogs there. I have just graduated and am looking for a job so I have lots of time and availability for dog sitting. I volunteer in my spare time but this is very flexible. I live in a flat with a fenced garden. I live very close to the meadows/ Holyrood park so lots of walks can be expected.

Matilda and their partner were so friendly and lovely to deal with, and kept me updated with messages and photos throughout. Birdy was so settled with them. They took really great care of her and it was reassuring knowing she was in such good hands. I’d definitely recommend Matilda and will happily book again!

We needed doggy day care so we could spend the day in Edinburgh and see the tattoo. Jessica was flexible with our travel times and very responsive. Loki went straight to her and into her house with no bother. We received photos and update messages. He was happy and relaxed at pick up. Thank you Jessica 😊

We would highly recommend Kamal to look after your beloved dogs. Kamal is very welcoming from the start and took care of Bailey and Oscar as if they were his own. Gave them treats and dinner. Updated us throughout with photos and videos for reassurance on WhatsApp. Thank you very much! We were able to explore Edinburgh in leisure without worrying about how they were getting on. Highly recommended. Many thanks 5******

Aine was great! Hector seemed to have a lovely time and was out and about on walks a lot throughout the day. Aine was also very flexible with me when I was later to come and collect Hector than originally planned, so I was really appreciative of that. I would definitely trust Aine looking after Hector again.

Jacqueline has been wonderful with Diana. Great communication, great updates and the pup has looked forward to her days with her. All worked so well, and been so flexible in organising around day to day life too. Highly recommend her to anyone - especially with spaniel princesses 🤣

Ivana has been looking after my golden retriever puppy for a couple of weeks now. She is amazing! It’s clear how much she loves and cares for him, as he gets very excited to see her on the mornings he stays with her. I know I don’t need to worry about anything when he is in her care. She is very friendly and communicative, sending photos and updates during the day. I would recommend her to anyone without hesitation!

Siyi was amazing and Samwise loved to spend time with her. She was so attentive to Sam and very helpful to us when we worried we would be delayed by traffic. She was communicative and kept us up to date with Sam’s day all the time, which was great. In all the photos and updates he looked so happy! It is very clear that Siyi loves the pets in her care and gives each of them a lot of attention. She’s an absolute gem!

Even though it was a last-minute booking, she accepted it without hesitation. We’re so happy that Mako enjoyed his stay with her. She was kind, caring, and kept us updated throughout his stay with regular updates about his activities. We truly appreciated her excellent communication and would happily recommend her to others.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Scotland may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
