We used Juliet while in the area on holiday as we wanted to go into Edinburgh and some of the places we wanted to visit was not dog friendly so we looked up on here and found Juliet. Juliet was absolutely amazing with our dogs, listened to their needs and doubled checked to ensure that everything was covered and correct. The dogs took to her so well and were so happy. Juliet sent photos throughout the day and regular updates, I was really assured they were so well looked after. Will definitely use Juliet again when we are back in the area, very highly recommended!! Thank you so much!

About: I have grown up with dogs of all ages. Therefore I have been helping look after them since I was about 8. I will happily put the high heels down and chuck on some muddy wellies if it means seeing any animal happy and cared for. a couple months ago I raised 8 Labrador puppies from birth until 8 weeks old when 7 of them found their forever homes and 1 stayed with my parents to be loved my her mum and gran forever. I have looked after friends and family’s dogs over the years and all dogs can tell I am genuinely a dog lover. I have experience with dogs who may need more care than others due to being elderly or having medicine that needs taken. I have experience in training young pets. It would be my pleasure to look after your furry friends. I am currently on summer holidays from university and living in Galashiels. This means I have lots of free time to look after your furry friends. I am available at all times and could be in the house every day apart from small plans like going shopping or meeting a friend for lunch once in a while. I have a small fenced garden however I live right next to a huge park that when my dogs visit they love to run around wild in. I can easily cater to your pups needs and would be more than happy to accommodate any special requests you may have.

About: Hi, I’m Zander — based in the Borders and offering a premium, low‑volume dog‑boarding experience designed for owners who want exceptional care, space, and peace of mind. My wife and I share our home with two black Labradors, so we’re very used to big personalities, big paws, and big cuddles. I specialise in large and active breeds, but have previously owned a miniature schnauzer so am well equipped to look after smaller breeds. I provide a calm, structured environment with plenty of outdoor time, countryside walks, and enrichment. Your dog will be treated like part of the family — not one of a crowd. I only take one booking at a time, ensuring full attention, safety, and a genuinely personalised experience. What you can expect: A quiet, spacious home with secure outdoor areas Daily countryside walks and enrichment tailored to your dog A calm, confident handler experienced with large breeds Regular photo and video updates Optional “campervan adventure days” for dogs who love exploring A professional, reliable service with clear communication and structure If you’re looking for luxury boarding with genuine care, experience, and space to roam, I’d love to welcome your dog. Pet care is fully integrated into my daily routine. I structure the day around our two Labradors, so adding another dog into that rhythm is natural and seamless. Morning afternoon and evening walks are part of our everyday life, and we maintain a calm, predictable environment at home that suits dogs of all ages and temperaments. Because I only take one booking at a time, your dog receives consistent attention, exercise and companionship throughout the day without competing for space or supervision. Your dog will be cared for as part of our family. We provide a safe, spacious home with a secure garden, comfortable indoor areas and a calm, structured atmosphere. Our two friendly Labradors help create a relaxed social environment, and we supervise all interactions closely to ensure everyone feels comfortable. We follow your dog’s routine, maintain clear boundaries, and prioritise safety at all times — from secure outdoor access to careful monitoring during walks, rest periods and feeding.

I left my border collie Chaplin, who suffers from separation anxiety, with Becky all day, and it was just great! The two connected really well, and even Becky's adorable bunny had fun with Chaplin. She kept me posted with photos and even a video, and Chaplin came back in a great mood, exhausted of chasing his tennis ball in the park. Definitely an overall great experience! Becky's our oficial pet-sitter from now on :) thanks!!

Abbie looked after bear for my whilst I was at work during the day. He never usually wants to go back to people after a day but every morning bear was excited to go back and see Abbie. She walked him daily and he just wanted to sleep when he got home so well exercised, well socialised and just all round looked after bear really well. I’ll definitely use Abbie again when needed.

About: Hi, I’m Gavin. I’m a caring and responsible pet sitter based in Bonnyrigg. I work part-time from home, which means I have plenty of time and flexibility to give your pet the attention they deserve. I live in a detached house with my own secure, fenced garden – perfect for playtime and safe outdoor breaks. I share my home with my friendly 2-year-old German Shepherd, who loves company and enjoys making new dog friends. My love for animals started early – as a teenager, I raised two cats and cared for them throughout their lives. That experience taught me patience, responsibility, and how to understand different pet personalities. Now, I’m confident caring for both dogs and cats, from playful pups and kittens to seniors who need gentler care. I’ll treat them like family. About: I’ve been surrounded by pets my whole life, and my love for dogs started when I was just six years old, begging my parents for my first pup. Every dog I’ve shared my life with has been a rescue, and each one has taught me something special. I live with my partner, and together we’ve cared for many wonderful dogs. Our beloved staffie cross, Roxanne (or “Ladyship” as we called her), joined us in 2017 from the Edinburgh Cats & Dogs Home. She was dog-reactive, so we worked closely with a trainer for four years to support her needs. Thanks to that experience, I’m confident in handling reactive dogs and happy to provide safe, understanding care for them. After Roxanne passed in 2024, we fostered Rex, a sensitive six-year-old staffie–lurcher cross with a high prey drive. Sadly, after seven months with us, Rex passed away suddenly in July 2025 due to an undiagnosed heart tumour. Though heartbreaking, the time we shared with him reminded us how deeply we value the companionship of dogs. Right now, we’re not ready to adopt again, but we truly miss the company of dogs. Dog sitting will allow us to give our time, love, and care to dogs who need it while giving owners peace of mind. We also regularly look after family and friends’ dogs, including Benji (a lively Jack Russell cross), Chico (a Romanian rescue), and Maisie & Mimi. Whether your dog is full of energy, a bit anxious, or simply loves cuddles, I’ll make sure they feel safe, cared for, and loved while they’re with me. I work from home most of the time and have the flexibility to manage my own schedule, which means your dog will never be left for long periods. This allows me to give them plenty of attention, companionship, and care throughout the day while still keeping up with my work. We believe every dog deserves to be treated like family. When your pup stays with me, they’ll receive the same love, patience, and respect that you give them at home. Our late Roxy was known as the “Ladyship of the house,” and we’ll make sure your dog feels just as cherished, safe, and cared for during their time with us.

Juliet is just perfect for our two daft dogs - they are not the easist to look after but Juliet takes it all in her stride. After their first daycare session, they come home relaxed and happy and on the second visit, charged through to the toy box without a moment's hesitation. They hardly even glanced up as I left them, very reassuring. Several repeat bookings made already!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Doggy Day Care in Scottish Borders on Rover is £28.75 per day (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Doggy Day Care easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Doggy Day Care. For more information on service fees, click here .

There are 592 sitters on Rover for Doggy Day Care in Scottish Borders. About 87% of Scottish Borders sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day cover for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later collection to match your Scottish Borders commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust collection and drop-off times when needed.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:

  • Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
  • Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
  • Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
  • Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
  • Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in Scotland may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
