Hope is the loveliest person and did a great job looking after Saffron. The fact Saffron spent so much time curled up asleep on the sofa is a sign she was relaxed there. They were also really understanding when I was running late for pick up due to unforeseen circumstances. Would book again!

About: I’ve grown up surrounded by dogs and spent my childhood helping in my family’s boarding kennels, so caring for animals has always been second nature to me. We have a spacious, secure garden where visiting dogs can play and relax, and I’m home full‑time so there’s always someone around. Our two dogs -Ralph, our gentle 11‑year‑old Jack Russell who spends the day sleeping by the fire, and Betsy our playful 1‑year‑old Beagle - love the company. Our daughters (5 and 8) adore animals too and keep the dogs entertained with games, cuddles, and the occasional sneaky treat. We live close to beautiful woodlands and reservoirs, so daily walks are part of our routine, your dog will always have company, comfort, and plenty of fun. I can be very flexible around your needs and scheduled. I also drive so can offer pick up/drop offs, a few days notice usually required. In my home, dogs enjoy constant company, a secure garden to explore, and a calm, family‑friendly atmosphere. I keep each pet’s usual routine at the heart of their stay; feeding times, walks, play, and quiet moments so they feel settled and safe from day one. We head out on daily woodland or reservoir walks & there is always someone at home to offer reassurance, attention, and plenty of affection.

About: I have been around/taken care of pets (both cats and dogs) majority of my life. I have trained 3 dogs myself as house pets from their puppy stages, 2 of which are dachshunds we currently have, although one now stays with my husbands parents 10 minutes up the road. I am currently in-between employment, leaving a full work from home position, therefor I am home nearly 24/7 at the moment and would be able to give pets constant care and watch. I will be leaving the house roughly 2-3 times a week in the morning to attend the gym and here and there for shop runs etc, so dogs would be left at home with my pet also for roughly 1 hour or so at a time. I live in a home with a fenced garden that my own pets get to roam around freely. Pets are allowed in any room of the house and on the couch. Come nighttime, our pets have their own room they sleep in, however more often than not they choose to sleep on the couch downstairs so your pet would not be sleeping alone. However, if preferred I am happy to crate your pets if this is what they are more comfortable with.

Fiona and her family were welcoming to Kip and she seemed to have had a nice time with a lovely walk and lots of cuddles. She wasn’t that bothered about coming home with me - I’d take that as a good sign! 🐶😂. Thank you for looking after Kip. 🙏🐾

Lizzie was great with our rescue dog Scooby. We were nervous to leave him as he sometimes can be hard work but Lizzie handled him perfectly and even said he didn’t bark at all! Which was news to us! She kept us updated with photos and messages throughout the day. Will definitely be booking Lizzie again! :)

About: I grew up with dogs and love to care for them. I understand work sometimes get in the way or you may need some vacation time where you need someone who will offer genuine care for your beloved pet. Message me and we can discuss what you need! I work at sea, which means I have plenty of time off when I’m back home. During that time, I’d love to help care for your pet—whether that means long walks for active breeds or cozy snuggles for more laid-back companions. I'm flexible and happy to match your pet’s energy! I have a female mini dachshund who loves the company of other humans and animals. My home is fenced so your pet can walk in and out whenever they please. You are welcome to bring their favourite treats/food, especially if they have special dietary requirements.

About: I live on a smallholding with plenty of open field space, so dogs staying with me will have lots of safe room to run, explore and burn off energy. I grew up surrounded by animals and previously worked as a shepherd, so caring for animals is a huge part of my daily life and something I’m very confident with. We currently have four friendly dogs of our own — two Labradors who are working gun dogs, plus a Jack Russell and a Dachshund — so I’m very used to managing multiple dogs, different personalities, and structured routines. All of our dogs are well socialised and used to being around other dogs. I love spending time outdoors and will make sure your dog gets plenty of exercise, attention, and a safe, caring environment while they’re with me. I work from home so I’m around all day. Dogs are constantly in and out the house with me checking livestock and going on long walks in the woods and secure field. There’s also a stream for water lovers! We’ve got a secure field available along with a secluded woodland walk. We have no neighbours and are not on the main road. We also have spare crates available if needed.

About: My partner Mark and I have both grown up surrounded by dogs and have always been hands on with their care, from walks and playtime to feeding and everyday routines. While we’re waiting for the right time to welcome a dog of our own, our home is a very dog loving one. We live in a clean, spacious family home with our two young children, who are gentle, calm and love being around dogs. We have a private garden and are surrounded by green space, perfect for relaxed walks and fresh air. We’re happy to follow your dog’s usual routine and will care for them as one of the family, with plenty of attention, affection and a calm, comfortable environment. I work part time, and my partner and I both work from home while our children are in childcare, so there’s always someone around for walks, cuddles and plenty of attention throughout the day. We’re able to offer both weekday and weekend boarding, with a flexible, attentive approach to care. Our garden is safe and secure, and we’re happy for dogs to roam freely between our ground floor living spaces and the garden. We always take time to see where each dog feels happiest and set up a cosy, quiet spot they can retreat to and call their own.

About: I’ve had dogs all my life — they’re more than pets, they’re family. My two boys were raised with two wonderful Labradors, and we’ve built our home around love, care, and dog-friendly routines. Whether you're heading to work or off on holiday, I’ll care for your dog as if they were my own. We’re a dog-loving household with a secure fenced garden and plenty of space to play and rest. My young children adore dogs and are used to being around them every day. Although we recently had to say goodbye to our own dogs (a heartbreaking moment), we now enjoy welcoming other furry companions into our home. I offer both in-home care and dog walking, depending on what suits your dog best. Your pet’s comfort, safety, and happiness are always my top priority. Pet care is a natural and joyful part of my daily life. As someone who has always had dogs, I’ve built my routine around caring for animals — from early morning walks to evening cuddle time. I work from home and have a flexible schedule, which means I can provide consistent attention, exercise, and companionship throughout the day. Whether it’s a morning walk, meal times, play sessions in the garden, or quiet rest indoors, I make sure each dog in my care feels safe, loved, and part of the family. My children, who were raised with dogs, also enjoy having them around and help create a friendly, stimulating environment for our furry guests. Every day is planned with your pet’s needs in mind, and weekends often include longer walks or outings to dog-friendly spots. Caring for dogs isn’t a task — it’s something we genuinely enjoy and feel privileged to do. We’re a dog-loving household with a secure fenced garden and plenty of space to play and rest. My young children adore dogs and are used to being around them every day. Although we recently had to say goodbye to our own dogs (a heartbreaking moment), we now enjoy welcoming other furry companions into our home.

Robin visited Zuzanna’s home on Christmas Day from 2:30pm–10pm, and this was my very first time using Rover and a pet sitter outside of family. Naturally, I was a little nervous, but Zuzanna made the whole experience really comfortable. We had a hour long meet and greet beforehand a few days before at her home with her dog Norte and Robin seemed happy and a bit relaxed with both Zuzanna and Norte, which gave me confidence to go ahead with the booking. Zuzanna was very flexible with timings, especially as I didn’t know exact times too far in advance and ended up running late due to dinner going on longer than expected. I really appreciated her understanding. I received an update about an hour in with two lovely photos and a message to say Robin was starting to settle, which put my mind at ease. When I picked Robin up, Zuzanna told me she’d been for a walk and had plenty of sofa snuggles which is exactly what Robin loves. Overall, it was a positive first experience using Rover, and I’d happily consider booking with Zuzanna again in the future. Hopefully Robin was on her best behaviour and would be welcome back!

FAQs for Doggy Day Care - West Lothian

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Doggy Day Care in West Lothian on Rover is £26.45 per day (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Doggy Day Care easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Doggy Day Care. For more information on service fees, click here .

There are 1,516 sitters on Rover for Doggy Day Care in West Lothian. About 87% of West Lothian sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day cover for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later collection to match your West Lothian commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust collection and drop-off times when needed.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:

  • Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
  • Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
  • Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
  • Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
  • Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in Scotland may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
