“We cannot recommend Harris and Maria highly enough, they have been looking after our Jack Russell for 12 days while we have been on holiday, they kept us updated every day on how he was doing and our we guy was having a ball. He was clearly well looked after and had regular walks and their dog Molly was an amazing friend for him. We will definately be booking with Harris and Maria again. Exceptional dog sitters.”

“Hope and her husband welcomed my puppy into their home and treated her like one of their own. They provided me with updates via messages and pictures. I’m sure my Nala was sad to leave when I came to collect her. I wouldn’t hesitate to use again and would highly recommend using their services if they’re available.”

“We honestly could not be happier with Lenka and her family. Everyday updates, photos and videos of our little one. She has came home so happy. And we were so happy knowing how well cared for she was. I could not recommend Lenka highly enough!”

About: I have looked after / owned dogs for almost 20 years. We lost our beloved dog Holly in 2023 after adopting her as a young dog and we really miss time with her and walking. However, due to having two small children, owning another dog at this time is not possible. I have helped friends over the last two years and have also been contacted through them by other people to look after their dogs for holidays. I can help out Monday and Fridays during the day and weekends/holidays also. I currently have two fairly regular dogs that I look after and this is working really well for us. Please get in touch and we can see if we're able to help out with walks/holidays/overnights. I work part time (Tues/wed/thurs) so am available the other 4 days to help with walks/sitting/boarding. If I have a dog in then I am home mostly. Dog wouldn’t be left for long periods just for school drop off etc. I have a large enclosed back garden and live near a large park which is great for dogs. Also happy to take dogs in the car for trips / walks further afield. Dogs are allowed on the sofa and upstairs. Generally not on the bed during the night.

“We left our collie with Lizzie for 1 overnight stay. She is lovely, easy going & responds to messages quickly. Archie was well looked after & we received lots of photos during his stay. Would highly recommend her & we will certainly be rebooking.”

“First time our 5 month old puppy has been away from us. Daniela is so lovely and created such a relaxing and welcoming environment that our puppy clearly loved. We are so happy to have found Daniela and we will certainly be using her again.”

“Summer was absolutely fantastic with Spot. He was looked after so well and loved staying with Summer. Spot was treated like a member of the family and enjoyed having doggie play mates for the 2.5 weeks. Although excited to see us, he has been moping around since he came home as he had such a good time. I would not hesitate to recommend Summer to anyone looking for an excellent dog boarder.”

“I can’t recommend Rhona highly enough! She took exceptional care of Mindy, and it was brilliant that Mindy got to spend time with another Border Collie, Lottie. Receiving so many lovely pictures while we were away was fantastic. Rhona is a wonderful, trustworthy sitter who we will definitely use again. A+”

“Sarah was absolutely wonderful with my puppy! She’s one of the most caring and thoughtful sitters I’ve come across. While I was away, she kept me updated with plenty of photos and messages, which gave me real peace of mind—especially since my puppy is still so young. It was clear she truly cared and went above and beyond to make sure my dog was happy and comfortable. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with Sarah again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, reliable sitter.”

“As always Nicola & Kayleigh looked after our anxious dog incredibly. He absolutely loves going & cries as soon as he gets to their street with excitement. He comes home knsckered (in a good way) and in a great mood. He is looking forward to his next stay & we are delighted to be able to go on holiday and know he is in excellent hands. Thank you x”

“It was our dogs first time away from us and he stayed with Kassandra for the weekend. He totally loved it and was so happy when we picked him up, not to see us because of his stay. I think he really enjoyed Kassandra, Keira and Mr Poes company and all the nice walks. We were quite worried about Baxter not settling in or being badly behaved but Kassandra put us at ease. Kassandra is very knowledgeable and professional and she has an excellent manner with dogs. We were sent regular updates and pictures of Baxter having fun on his walks and he seems to have taken a real shine to Kassandra. Kassandra will be our first choice for any dog sitting, walking or boarding requirements from now on.”

About: I have had large breed rescue dogs my whole life, specifically German Shepards and Shepard crossbreeds. I do not currently have any dogs of my own due to work commitments so would love to spend time with other furry friends. Having studied biology at uni, I am a lover of all animals and have had previous experience at a public farm caring for farm animals and small animals such as rabbits, Guinea pigs and ferrets. I have also kept fish tanks from a young age, caring for a variety of both tropical and cold water species. Therefore, I would be happy to care for any other pets you may have. I also have had previous experience caring for a multi-pet household of 6 cats and 2 dogs. I am currently working in antibiotic research during weekdays so I am looking to get my animal fix mostly on weekends but could also do evenings from 6pm if required. Having had rescue dogs I understand the importance of patience and catering to the individual dogs needs both in the home as well as out on walks.

Hope and her husband once again took such great care of Nala, was kept up to date daily with updates and pictures. They treat her like one of the family and she loves going to stay with them and I always feel relaxed knowing she’s staying with them on this basis. Wouldn’t hesitate to leave Nala with them again x

Sarah took in my pup on very short notice, I was welcomed in to meet her and her own dog and made to feel very comfortable before leaving. I got several pictures and videos throughout the days and Bruce seemed to come back very happy. Would recommend and use again.

Our dog Tilly is a little timid and can be nervous around new people and new dogs. After reading the reviews for Lynn we felt she would be perfect for Tilly. We took Tilly to meet Lynn and could tell straight away that Lynn loves dogs. She is very calm and let Tilly do her own thing. She let Tilly come to her in her own time and didn't force it. We weren't sure how Tilly would be staying with another dog, but Mia is a lovely dog. She is very calm and obviously happy to share her home with another dog. Lynn sent regular updates and photos of Tilly on her walks with her new friends. Lynn was very accommodating especially when our flight home was delayed. When I picked Tilly up she met me at the door with her usual wagging tail, happy to see me, but as if I'd only just come home from work and not been away for 5 days. When she came home she was very calm and relaxed and not in a "huff" for being left. We are so happy with Lynn, we have booked Tilly in again.

Charlie was looked after for the 1st time by Kathryn . I was given regular updates and also sent regular photos which gave us reassurance . We had met up with Kathryn on 2 occasions with charlie prior to her looking after him which also made us feel reassured that he would be well cared for . I highly recommend Kathryn and would not hesitate to rebook

Thank you so much Zuzanna and Diego for taking such great care of Cara for the last 17 days. It can be daunting leaving your dog for so long but I honestly had no concerns as knew she’d be well taken care of, and even spoiled at times like the trip to the beach. I was really grateful for all your regular updates and photos as nice to hear that Cara was settled and having a ball. As soon as I’m planning my next holiday I’ll be in touch as would love for you both to take care of Cara again. I’ll also recommend you to friends as it’s truly obvious you care deeply for dogs and would take great care of them. Thank you so much again! Nicola and Cara

- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Scotland may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
