“We cannot recommend Harris and Maria highly enough, they have been looking after our Jack Russell for 12 days while we have been on holiday, they kept us updated every day on how he was doing and our we guy was having a ball. He was clearly well looked after and had regular walks and their dog Molly was an amazing friend for him. We will definately be booking with Harris and Maria again. Exceptional dog sitters.”

“We'd a family emergency and Barry very kindly took Otto at short notice. Otto had a whale of a time, brilliant walks, and with Barry's support got on well with all the other dogs. Thank you Barry.”

“We were delighted that Debbie looked after Brodie so well. He was obviously very settled on our return and had certainly made himself at home! Debbie’s family were also very involved in looking after him. She was happy to send messages and photos while we were away. Should we need home boarding again we would love Debbie to take such good care of him again”

“Another great stay with Ali and the gang. Our boy Blue used to be really anxious being left with anyone other than family. Now he's so happy to go to Ali's, even mentioning her name he gets so excited. This time it was just a 1 night / 2 day stay, along with his new little brother Cooper. This was coopers first time away from home without us. We were keen to hear how he was getting on. Ali kept us updated with plenty of videos and pictures and we are happy to say that he got on great! You could tell her was loving every moment, especially having some new friends to play with. We are so lucky to have found the right home away home ❤️”

“Very impressed with the service that they provided. My dog suffers with separation anxiety and this has been the longest period of time that he has been away from home. They handled him fantastically. I was worried that he would not settle well but my concerns were swiftly quashed. Hope provided regular updates and he returned one happy dog. If anyone needs their dog cared for whilst they are away I cannot recommend them enough and would not hesitate to use them again to look after Max. Thanks again”

“I could not recommend Magdalena and her partner any more, they have look after my cockapoo Lulu very well and understand her personality and needs amazingly. We received photos and updates through every day. Thank you very much for being so amazing 🤩”

“Our little one had a great time with Sarah! We could tell from the photos and the videos that Sarah sent to us regularly: lovely walks, cuddles, and play! Sylune looked very happy and well adjusted, I think it's the first time she seems so calm after coming back from a pet sitter. We're grateful and will be booking again in the future!”

“Fantastic doggy sitter with lots of photos and videos to put your mind at ease that your pup is happy. They took Teddy on several walks a day too. Great communication and the whole family clearly love dogs! Thank you Lenka.”

“Hamish was very excited when we drove up to Sarah’s, jumped out of the car and ran in. Sarah sent me photographs a wee while later. He was settled nicely. He’d been unsettled during the night, unfortunately for Sarah. But he was fine when I collected him. He sat on my knee and slept when we got home. 24 hrs later and he’s definitely back to normal. He’s 7 and in all that time he’s only had 1 night away from family, but Sarah looked after him really well. He’s looking forward to another visit in the future, hopefully. Thank you, Sarah”

“Lizzie was amazing with brandy, unfortunately we had lost one of our dogs and brandy was not coping well without her. Lizzie made sure she had all the human contact she needed and went above and beyond during brandys stay. I will definitely use Lizzie again in the future.”

“Shubham and his lovely family welcomed Dash into their home. They sent regular updates of him relaxing and playing with their dog and young son. Shubham was very communicative throughout the process. Would definitely recommend!”

“My dog had a wonderful week at Madeleine's. She provided regular updates with photos and replied to messages quickly. Hazel will definitely be back next time we need a sitter :)”

“I can’t recommend Rhona highly enough! She took exceptional care of Mindy, and it was brilliant that Mindy got to spend time with another Border Collie, Lottie. Receiving so many lovely pictures while we were away was fantastic. Rhona is a wonderful, trustworthy sitter who we will definitely use again. A+”

“First time our 5 month old puppy has been away from us. Daniela is so lovely and created such a relaxing and welcoming environment that our puppy clearly loved. We are so happy to have found Daniela and we will certainly be using her again.”

“It was our dogs first time away from us and he stayed with Kassandra for the weekend. He totally loved it and was so happy when we picked him up, not to see us because of his stay. I think he really enjoyed Kassandra, Keira and Mr Poes company and all the nice walks. We were quite worried about Baxter not settling in or being badly behaved but Kassandra put us at ease. Kassandra is very knowledgeable and professional and she has an excellent manner with dogs. We were sent regular updates and pictures of Baxter having fun on his walks and he seems to have taken a real shine to Kassandra. Kassandra will be our first choice for any dog sitting, walking or boarding requirements from now on.”

“Our experience with Eva was fantastic from start to finish. She made the booking process very easy and was very accommodating for both mine and Horace’s needs, including for drop off and pick up. Eva sent photos of Horace each day we were away and it was obvious that he had a brilliant time in her care. He enjoyed a decent walk each day and it was obvious when we picked him up that he had become fond of her and happy & relaxed in her home. I would definitely use Eva again - many thanks!”

“Hamish had a lovely holiday with Diane. He was well looked after and treated as part of the family. We were kept updated with photos and messages. I’m not sure if he wanted to come home with us but I’m sure he would love to go back next time we go away.”

Simba had a wonderful time with Hope and their 2 lovely dogs. He was clearly very well looked after and Hope kept us informed throughout Simba’s stay, with lots of photos. They have a lovely environment for dogs and are clearly dog loving people .Simba is already looking forward to going back 😊. Thank you!

I can not recommend Ali enough. She is absolutely brilliant and such a lovely person. She looked after Loki as if he was her own. I got daily updates which I loved so I could see how settled he was. I would highly recommend Ali and I am sure Loki cannot wait to come back and stay with her again 😁

We couldn't have asked for better dog sitters than Harris and Maria and Molly :) They took exceptional care of Geko and treated him as if he were their own. Throughout his stay, they kept us updated with regular messages, photos, and videos, which gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. They were always very informative about how Geko was doing, what he had been up to, and any little changes they noticed. It was clear they genuinely cared about his wellbeing and made sure he was happy, comfortable, and well looked after at all times. We are incredibly grateful for the love, care, and attention they gave Geko. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Harris and Maria to anyone looking for trustworthy, caring, and reliable dog sitters. Thank you both so much—we will definitely be booking with you again!

Our cockapoo Tina 3 yrs old first time ever been away from home so happy she had an amazing stay with Arleta. Don't think she wanted to leave her when Arleta brought Tina home .You just knew how much of a bond she had with Arleta. Tina's diet was also taken care off (she's got specific meats for her meals ) regular updates & pics .Definitely booking again especially now the bond they have created after all my worries & concerns I can't thank Arleta enough she's really good a what she does. 100%

Sarah took in my pup on very short notice, I was welcomed in to meet her and her own dog and made to feel very comfortable before leaving. I got several pictures and videos throughout the days and Bruce seemed to come back very happy. Would recommend and use again.

Charlie was looked after for the 1st time by Kathryn . I was given regular updates and also sent regular photos which gave us reassurance . We had met up with Kathryn on 2 occasions with charlie prior to her looking after him which also made us feel reassured that he would be well cared for . I highly recommend Kathryn and would not hesitate to rebook

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming

- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Scotland may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
